    HD resolution cold shivers

I do get get the disdain for 720p but this TV is designed to run off 12v as its for boomers in their $75k Jayco caravans so they can watch Tracy Grimshaw while they're at a caravan park in Byron Bay or some shit…

giving them a 1,080p panel is like pearls before swamp pigs.

      • Added with starlink and fire tv watch anything and anywhere in 3.5 tonne alumni sh!t can

        • -4

Such disrespect for the boomers. Let's see with current inflation and house price where you all end up holidaying and living. Probably in cardboard boxes on side streets.

          • +15

            @[Deactivated]: thanks for that Boomers

            • +2

              @Circly: Tell im he's dreamin

            • @Circly: That was a bit of an explosive boomer rant wasn't it

            • -1

              @Circly: It's boomer.

              And…

It was a boomer who created the software language that made web pages possible in 1989 (Tim Berners-Lee). Without it you wouldn't be reading and responding to this. Another couple boomers made computers household devices (Ed Roberts, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak). They pioneered Rock and Roll, revolutionised movies, television as mainstream entertainment (George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and others) and stood up for your rights and freedoms which we take for granted. Among many feats which we think was always there.

And I'm not a boomer. But my father was and I'm sure your father or grandfather would fall into that category too.

            @[Deactivated]: sorry, boomer

          • +5

            @[Deactivated]: OK, boomer

          • @[Deactivated]: How are those investment properties going Mr Boomer?
            What housing shortage right?

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Would it make you feel better if I did live in a cardboard box

Or was even worse off than that

Or would that just bring you less contentment than you happened to have when you wrote this?

I'm neither a boomer not a kid, just some little aged thing working out where to go

And I'm hoping that in the future nobody lives on the streets unless they want to

          Zoomers V Boomers… classic.

        • +1

I am a boomer and take the p155 out of myself.
anything stir pot up a bit……
          Call it entertainment

          • @zombie hunter: I think that
While a watched pot may still boil
An unstirred pot develops a layer of burnt crud on the bottom

    • TV is at best 576i in Australia anyway.

    • it's also very difficult to tell the difference between 720p and 1080 on a 32"…

      • +8

        I agree, but careful, you'll trigger the 1440p 6" phone brigade :P

      • and with spectacles!

        • I think boomers wear monocles

      • Maybe true when watching TV, but when you are running a desktop, the more screen real estate the better, in this situation you definitely see and know the difference.

Looks like it's been $299 for months according to the camels? https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08JT66CN9

    • +9

      But it's $279 now

      • +17

True, but if I was considering buying a item that was advertised as having RRP of $699 that was now $279, I wouldn't mind knowing that it had been $299 for months before I bought it.

I’m one step closer to committing to running away to the woods and live a life of isolation.

    • +16

Get a VR headset and live in virtual luxury in the woods behind some local Maccas with free Wi-fi.

    • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Do you really want to watch crap shows whilst living off the grid??

    • Ooh… the woods just remind me of the movie A Quiet Place. Don’t do it Jim!

    • +2

Forget daytime TV it will need all day sun to charge to watch "dancing with the stars at night"

  • I'm sure those who would want a TV would also want a powered site, and I reckon anywhere you can't get one of those, you can't get TV reception either.

Anyway, what's the run time on these? Could be good for next to the pool & not needing power cables lying around.

    • I figure you'd just use a Chromecast / HDMI cable to play back media you've brought.

      • -1

Yeah but wouldn't you need power for the Chromecast, the wifi and/or whatever medium your digital content is stored? Unless NAS is now solar powered lol.

        • Would be powered through the TV's USB port, hardly sucks any power and you can fit loads on SD cards these days.

        • HDMI out from your phone

  • +2

Wow. My last battery powered TV had like a 3" LCD display.

  • +9

This is a 12v monitor only but with WQHD resolution and most likely much better quality image. IPS panel, multiple inputs, freesync… https://www.mwave.com.au/product/dahua-lm32sa-315-wqhd-frees…
If you're going off grid you most likely already have batteries, solar panels, other electronics.

    • Awesome suggestion, just picked one up from Amazon for the same price, cheers.

    • The Go TV is just a gimmick.

  • Hmm this could be awesome for the kids cubby house 🤣

    • +2

Yea. Get them to go outside and play

  • I prefer this one.

  • +3

A must have for any true glamper. Everybody else, just watch videos on your phone

When you're out there in the bush, enjoy the bush. If you want to watch tv, stay home, crack open a cold one and not have to be bothered by flies.
