Very good price. Especially when you consider the 128GB RRP was $1499 a couple of weeks ago.

non-return fee of 60$ admin. how about the promo 500$ in case of non-return?

    • are you sure? I believe the non return fee is the value of the phone you should be returning

      • there is definitely 60$ admin for non-return as per the T&Cs

        • Terms and conditions state will be charged an extra $60 administration fee and maybe the $500 bonus fee on non-return.

"If you do not to return your device in 7 days , you will be automatically charged the value of the trade-in credit plus a $60 (AUD) administration fee. Samsung may also charge you for any additional bonus credit which was applied to your order."

          https://www.samsung.com/au/tradeup/

          • @Magicmagic: thats from FAQ not T&C

            • @FiDad: Good point. I'm sure they could still enforce it as it is stated on their website?

            • @FiDad: Someone posted it in the T&C although without the $ amount listed

              http://shorturl.at/jvHL9

"a Device Non-Return Fee and a Device Non-Return Administration Fee if You do not
return Your Existing Device to Us within seven days after the date on which You receive
              Your New Samsung Device. "

          • +5

            @Magicmagic: Hi,

Thanks for your query, if you wish to not return your old device you will be charged the full trade-in credit (the amount you got offered for your old device). After this it will no longer be a requirement to return your old device to us. We hope that this information has been helpful.

Unfortunately, we do not have the exact time frame of when you will be charged, this is an automated process, and the charge should occur after 14 days has passed since you were sent your return label. To make the process as easy as possible please keep the funds available in your account.

Any bonus credit/vouchers will remain as it is. You may receive some reminder emails about returning your old device which you can ignore if you’re planning to keep that device. Any bonus credit will remain as it is.

            Regards,

            Samsung trade-up team

@decio60: Asurion, remember all the hassle we have with the Surface trade in deal with them.

            • @decio60: So if a person doesn't send in there phone, they won't get the $500 trade in credit taken away from them?
Sorry for the question I'm just a bit confused
              thanks

                @pacino7:

they won't get the $500 trade in credit taken away from them?

Nobody 100% sure because this is new in T&C this time.

                • +5

@superforever: You should really stop trying to fearmonger. It's not even explicitly stated in the T&Cs that bonus credit will be removed only an admin fee but its pretty evident now that Samsung does not really enforce this rule or condition. Not to mention there's evidence from official Samsung emails and customer service reps stating it won't be enforced. It's literally written by them in their own words - Samsung or Asurion is not going to bother trying to chase it up once you flash a screenshot of them telling otherwise.

Stop going from thread to thread, it's pointless. People are still going to not send in their old device. Literally hundreds of people have placed in orders with the trade in bonus and still happily kept their old device without issue. Just repay the small trade in value and then enjoy your new Samsung phone and older phone.

                    @miinht:

People are still going to not send in their old device.

Understand but people still keep asking the same question, can you 100% guarantee Samsung won't do it?

So what I trying to say is nobody can 100% sure, they have do it at their own risk and don't ask again and again.

                    • @superforever: If so, then you should also inform them that in the past a huge majority of people have not sent in their phones without any issue. Don't omit that fact as well.

I replied them this "because this is new in T&C this time."

Samsung changed T&C this time and wasn't like that from last deals (at least for admin fee)

my s21 is coming up as 470 so Samsung owes me money:

    999-500-100-50-470 = -121$

    • are you sure ? mine still coming the normal prrice minus trade in

      • mine coming up as 379 after using the two voucher codes for 100 and 50 and trade in code. not sure why not 349

        • Because the $50 code (newsletter) is only for purchases over $350.00

When you apply either or both codes, the $50 code will not apply.

    • +1

You are doing it wrong ….. it is 1499-
      instead of 999-

      • +1

my s21 value is 470 as per the trade up app.

When I apply the trade in code without any vouchers, it shows the amount payable as 29 dollars. but in effect I will be paying 29+470+60 (admin) = 559. Not a deal
I need to find a low value phone so that I can stack the vouchers too

        • -3

I have the same first world problem - was thinking of getting the 256gb and saying there's a crack on the phone or something.

  • +14

This is just insane, after trading a phone that i don't intend to send in, $50 newsletter, $100 chat voucher i got a Flip 3 for $349

    • +4

I haven't been keeping track of any flip deals as I didn't think a gimmick was worth $1000, but for $349, I'm willing to take a bite… How do you trade in a phone that you don't need to send in? won't they follow up? Also, the newsletter I'm assuming I need to just sign up for, what about the chat voucher? Is that something that OZB community has been doing to get great deals, picking a phone like the s21 that don't own, not sending anything in and checking out with something new?

      • +2

They do follow up and charge you ONLY the trade in value, the $500 bonus still stays. You need to actually have the phone because you have to download an app onto it and run a couple of tests, then they ask for the imei

        • So if my S20 trade in value is only $200, I've saved $300 and get to keep my S20?

          • +4

@jackwilk: No, you have saved $500 which is the trade in bonus.

            • @dosada: I see. So what happens if I don't send my trade in - will they charge me?
All good I see it, thanks.

              • @jackwilk: If you don't send in your old phone, they should only charge you the trade-in value, which is in your case $200 but as mention, you still receive the $500 discount for opting trade up.

                • +1

How did you get the chat voucher?

      • +1

        Over the chat

    • +1

The chat EDS code is not working for me and neither is the $50 marketing code :(

  • +1

BTW, all of them are out of stock for me

  • +1

    Everything is out of stock

  • +1

i just tried to go to the checkout page still works on mine, how odd.

  • If one day only not sure if they may have stock back today.

  • I can order it, but it says pre-order - ships from 23 December for me.

    • +2

i think it depends on the colour, the lavender purple one seems to be on pre-order. The rest seems like in-stock still.

      • Oh that makes sense, cheers.

  • +1

3,300mAh (typical) battery, would it stand even for a day?

    • +1

For me, almost. The new software update has improved it somewhat. But I have to turn off 5G, 120Hz refresh rate and manage my apps tightly (e.g. only allowing certain apps where I need notifications to run, others are in deep sleep). In most days, I have about 60% battery by 8pm and that is in Wi-Fi 100% of the time. On cellular, I would hit around 60% by 12pm so it's cutting close.

  • I’ve been living under a rock, if I don’t have a Sammy phone to trade-in, can I still use the trade-in offer (or does it need an IMEI number to verify the trade-in?).

    • an IMEI number to verify the trade-in?).

Yes, you have to install the app to verify if your phone is OK to trade and credit card.

      • +1

Could you use something like an old Samsung S6?

        • Could you use something like an old Samsung S6?

use the "Discover Your Trade-Up Value" to check your model but not with S6, not even S7 now. I traded S7 for S21 on the first trade up deal.

        • Using the app, it will so no. But I went in-store and traded in and got the bonus.

      • I assume by giving your CC to them, they'll charge you for the value of the trade-up if you don't send it in?

        • they'll charge you for the value of the trade-up if you don't send it in?

Yes, I think now plus admin fee because too many people didn't send it back.

          • +1

@superforever: I've contacted sales agent about this and they told me that no admin fee or device no-return fee will be charged.

            • @miinht:

they told me that no admin fee or device no-return fee will be charged.

I am not sure, I just read from the S21 trade deal, some said in the T&S.

              • @superforever: Yep but like in the past a majority have mentioned they have not been charged this.

                Nothing to be worried about.

                • @miinht:

past a majority have mentioned they have not been charged this. Nothing to be worried about.

admin fee is new, so nobody know yet.

                  • @superforever: No it's not? It's been around for several months now. If you've been following or seen any of the past Samsung deals you would definitely know of it. Especially consdering how this is always brought up.

Again, nothing to be worried about.

                • +1

@miinht: I don't think they even charged me for my phone not being sent in… albeit they only offered $50 for an s9 when trading to an s21

      • can you use someone else Samsung phone in this case, or is there more perosnal details verification in this app

        • is there more perosnal details verification in this app

          Also credit card.

        • +1

          You will need to enter:

          Name
          Email
          Credit Card
          Upload Driving License

    • +1

Doesn't need to be a Samsung phone for trade-up does it? Check the trade-up value here. For example, an iPhone 8 128GB came up as $95.

    • +1

      Another silly question:

How do you ask chat for $100 voucher?

      I know about the $50 sign-up voucher.

      • it does not matter anyway, it does not seem to stack with any vouchers except trade-in ID.

  • Dang hey RIP anyone who bought at full RRP with intention to re-sell…

    • I purchased 2 of this, $350 is too good to pass up on. I can always sell one easily for profit if I end up not liking it.

  • +1

wtf only $155 trade in for s10e?

    • +3

wtf only $155 trade in for s10e?

      Remember extra $500 bonus.

      • +1

wait so is that 500 + 70 on my case then?

    • well they offer only 70 bucks for mate20 pro lol

      • well they offer only 70 bucks for mate20 pro lol

        Plus $500 bonus, so $999 - $500 - $70 - vouchers (if you have)

        • yes I see it now! i wasnt even thinking but it might be a good upgrade now. on trade in screen max I can charged was $70, so If they dont revert the 500 bonus I am keen to not send my mate20pro lol

  • The code generated by trade up app is throwing an error and cannot be used

"due to an error, trade in service is not available at the moment"

    Is anyone having this issue?

    • I'm starting from scratch again, and now the trade up app is not able to verify my credit card no matter how many legit cards I tried.

Anyone else having issue with trade up app?

      • I have been waiting for Samsung Chat for more than half an hour now….. Is anyone having any luck?

        • none, and they cancelled the chat on me once

          • @tnarg: I got cancelled 6 times now

        • did you get to the screen to enter credit card details?

if not, you will get those message.

      • I'm having same issue now. Any fix?

        • See the other comments below, reinstalling the Trade up app worked for me :)

  • So going by the comments, does anyone actually get a 500$ trade in value? If you do,What phone do you have to give them? I see some comments regarding not sending in the trade in? If you do so, wouldn't they send you a bill or take back the trade in bonus??

    • You havnt read correctly… the deal is $500 off price. Then trade phone for xx dollars and get a bonus $500 off…

  • +2

    Any fold 3 deal?

    • That was last week

      • +1

        Need a new one 😜

  • Now they said "even with minor damage" that is new, I traded my S7 on the first trade up deal, even I have minior damage they charged me back $15.

    • +1

How much did they offer for your S7? Did you actually send the phone to samsung?? Any penalties if you don't?

      • +1

How much did they offer for your S7?

$15, I only want the extra bonus, S7 not accept anymore.

Did you actually send the phone to samsung?

        I did

        Any penalties if you don't?

Only charged back the trade in value but they have changed as I read they will charge back admin fee.

        • So 15$ + 500$ bonus? Will they take back the bonus if you dont send in the phone?

          • @bargainfinder:

Will they take back the bonus if you dont send in the phone?

Not for my trade (early this year)

Not sure now, after Samsung changed T&C

            • @superforever: I hope they dont as i order using my S20 plus as a trade in and i dont intend to send it in.

    • That is weird as my S8 in perfect condition comes up as $5

      • That is weird as my S8 in perfect condition comes up as $5

        S8 very old, remember they also gave you extra $500 bonus, $999 - $500 - $5
