This seems like a decent deal for a Legion 5.

  • Does anyone have one that can give some feedback?

    • I would look for a review… specifically the thermals could be a concern

Got this exact model running for 2 months now, mainly using it for CAD, a light amount of gaming (Genshin Impact) and mining at night. It's been running very solid.
I upgraded mine to Windows 11 without any hiccups, and I replaced the memory with 2 sticks of Crucial 16GB 3200MHz CL22.
The laptop is connected via TB4 to a TB4 hub running my monitor AW3821DW and other peripherals, so nice to connect everything with a single TB4 cable.

Thermal wise the temps are around high 60s and low 70s running Genshin Impact at 3840x1600 and the fan can get loud.
Mining performance is around 40-43M/Hs at 95W and the temps are low to mid 60s with the fans set on auto.
I have mine sitting on a laptop stand I bought off amazon, I found this one pretty solid and doesn't block the intake fans at the bottom. The thermals were much better after I used this stand.

Overall I'm pleased with my purchase as it represented good value to performance and since I wanted something that was in stock with thunderbolt 4 rather than wait 5-8 weeks for the 5i Pro (at the time) and was at least $700-800 more expensive. As I connect mine to my Alienware monitor, the inferior screen to the superior Legion 5 Pro wasn't an issue for me. I don't find I'm missing anything with a 6 core CPU compared to the more common 8 core i7-11800H since I don't do any rendering right now. If you don't need Intel and TB4, the Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen is really great value. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give that feedback. Much appreciated.

      • How much do you actually make mining?

        • I think at current rates it's roughly $3-3.50 a day after accounting for cost of electricity if you mine 24/7.

I've got a stingray with i7-11800H and 3070. It's a beast. With a laptop stand which has extra fans underneath, it runs nice and quiet.

    • Can you share which laptop stand you use? Thanks.

    • what is stingray ? intel's thingie ? like the intel evo ?

Stingray is the colour. It is white.

I bought a Acer Nitro 5 with intel and Geforce 3060 from Harvey Norman for $1300 a few months ago. How does this compare, especially at $700 more?

Can someone please give some insight about this 17" or would I be better off with the i7. The stingray color also bothers me
