Got some for Kris Kringle gifts

    • -2

More Hare Krishna with samosas I would have thought

    • +5

Possibly your best suggestion. I will actually proceed with this idea.

    • +1

      You and me both! 😎

  • -8

Excellent deal. They must still have heaps of stock since October

    • -1

Never knew there were so many anti-samosa sooks. Move aside antivaxxers you've got some competition.

      • Didn't neg, but tbf your unedited comment read "these are always $5" and linked to your current PFP "scomosas".
Nothing about people not liking samosas.

        • -1

If they like samosas they will upvote. If they don't they will downvote.

          • +1

@Clear: Have never quite related to this negphobia on websites with a like/dislike or up/downvote feature. What's the big deal?

People don't have to be blindsided and manipulated for fake internet points surely.

            • -1

@decc0: Those who neg comments are usually the type that are so easily triggered. It's all good fun at the end of the day for me - there's no reward for these internet points. If you want a reward for internet points go invest in crypto :)

              • +1

@Clear: I find it interesting how these negative votes were enough to make you change your PFP, after you edited your comment. Seems like you were also triggered?

                • @decc0: I do it everytime. Same if someone wants an argument. Spew random crap until they stop.

                  • @Clear: Oh, glad I waited until you edited because "I do it everytime (sic)" didn't make sense.

someone wants an argument. Spew random crap until they stop.

Didn't realise this was an argument. Just gave you a reason for your negative votes because you couldn't seem to figure it out. I'll leave your oversensitive self a full hour to edit your reply to perfection because I'm done here.

                    • -3

                      @decc0:

Same if someone wants an argument.

Way to take it out of context. I didn't say it was an argument and I certainly edited this in. It's pretty obvious why I was negged. People don't like it if you point out a deal has always been cheaper. You're new here and this is one of the many things that will trigger it.

            • +2

@decc0: sometimes people neg due to nationalistic / cultural reasons ….look at the rice cooker feuds and idea unless you are asian you can’t appreciate expensive rice cookers ….. same with culture that has samosas….. would neg if they feel offended ……

waiting for bratwurst listing and the sausage wars …..

              • +1

                @garage sale:

                sausage wars

To be frank, that would be the wurst.

Honestly though, some people just see buzz words that automatically makes them hit downvote without even reading the comment, and then the rationale of human existence (oh they downvoted, I have to as well!) takes over from there.

A key way of fixing this is editing out the buzz words in your response, although it doesn't necessarily stop the neg train 🚂🚃🚃

Indian parents will literally disown their kids if they find out that their kids bought this thing to make "samosa".

    • -2

And Asian parents would do the same if their kids bought a Kmart rice cooker I'd imagine. Somehow I don't think they are marketing these to people after an authentic experience.

      • One could make spanakopitas maybe? 🤔

        • +1

i have the breville deep pocket sandwich maker …if i used pastry instead of bread it would do the same thing except have more filling ….same with spanakopitas if you used filo pastry except might be soggier than if done on a baking tray …..depends how much you are willing to trade-off quality vs speed to get a snack …. if i used the pie maker guess it would be pie instead of samosa because it’s round and not triangle ?

      • My parents would spend hundreds on a Tiger Brand rice cooker and I never understood why until I had the rice.

        • Nothing better than Tiger brand and using your finger to measure the water level 💯

        • Yeah exactly, you need a proper rice cooker to make proper rice. You get what you pay for at Kmart. Shit products destined for landfill but ultimately 'does the job' for some

  • +10

Sadly, misleading. Was hoping it included someone who could make me samosas. The machine toasts the samosa but you need to make it yourself.

    • +1

      Buy frozen samosas problem solved

    • so much for authentic cuisine…. a cultural snack turned into a jaffa’s iron treat ….

  • +5

I bought it when it was $5 last time. It's total garbage. I threw it away.

    • Totally didn't work? :/

      • +11

Bad design, too shallow (no room for filling in the samosas), actually dangerous cos it's heavy and snaps closed really easy, also very leaky, no place for steam to escape out of, therefore things come out wet and greasy.

Save yourself the $5 for sure.

        • Thanks for that. I'll save myself the $5. Thought I could save myself a deep-fry or two.

        • +1

Yeah there's a reason why these are so cheap. Because they're also nasty (in terms of quality and design).

        • yeah that's a terrible product

  • +3

Should be called SAMOSI maker.. Who makes a samosa that small and thin?

    • people on a tight budget make then that small and thin ….. guess if you make them to big it’s a pastie …..

  • +1

At $5, all you are doing it wasting $5 (plus your time to go pick this up)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA8y-oM4oK4

  • +4

This is not a samosas maker. It's an electric toaster of sorts. Making a decent samosa involves much more.

  • +1

Fries eggs in a pretty shape for bentos. Add oil/butter and crack the egg. Other than that, useless.

    • and bacon ?

  • These are more for samochas, not samosas. Samochas are the one that come in the Asian entertainment pack. Thin samosa knockoffs.

  • -3

    Samosa

    What?

  • I bought one of these a few weeks ago

I've been using pita bread and sandwich filings for toasted sandwiches 10/10 would recommend

Not too deep so the filling isn't ridiculous too hot and is great for portion sizes

  • +1

    Hexajaffle!

  • +1

Mindless consumerist trash for the tip. Please dont buy this.

  • Aldi has decent frozen samosas.

  • this to me a peculiar funny example of kmart stock purchasing

someone at kmart thought it would be a great idea to buy container loads of this shit from globalsources or whoever and they thought australians would snap this shit up

but really, few australians care for this samosas and now they cant get rid of them

i'm sure they didnt even test it to see if it worked properly
