I have these headphones (WF1000XM3B). The sound quality is brilliant. I can’t fault the sound.

I just can’t get them to stay in my ears. I’ve tried different tips, but they all fall out. The headphones are now collecting dust in my bottom drawer while I use inferior sounding AirPods that don’t fall out.

    • I bought mine at release and haven't had that issue, but my partner is always telling me I'm not listening, so maybe I have very small ears.
I love them so much I've been unable to fault them sufficiently to upgrade to the new ones, and I'm usually one of those gross early adopters.
That said even with the latest updates the call quality isn't the greatest if that's a deal breaker for anyone.

    • How's the call quality?
There is a review on the official sony website claiming the call quality is horrible.
I do a fair bit of online meeting with bluetooth headphones and would need something that can deliver clear voice.

      • Call quality is rubbish (wh/wf1000xm3-have both)

    • I said it in another post too, you can use Bose eartips and they will not fall down. there is no sound degradation(no difference). Bose eartip for soundsport wireless are one of the best one in market imo. you can buy cheap look a like for 8$ on amazon or ebay. amazon is fast delivery though. you will thank me later

I love the sound from the WF-1000XM3 too, but I'm just about to do my 3rd warranty return due to battery issues. So yeah, beware. Sony support ain't always fun to deal with either…..

    • To confirm they provide you another refurbished or seconds right?

I'm not sure about this but perhaps you could also ask for refund

      • Nope, new replacement product each time. I've told Sony that I want a refund if the next pair has the same issue, which I'm guessing it will. LDAC kills the battery life, plus the battery performance just doesn't deliver to what Sony advertises. I'm lucky if I get 2 hours on half volume from a pair that is no more than 3-4 months old.

        • Then I'm confused about how a new replacement, i.e. not a new refurbished, have issues.

          • +1

@PeeDee: Crap product. There is a fundamental battery issue with the product in general, or with a very large production run. I'd say that is why the price is dropping radically now. Sony will be playing the numbers game to sell them out and discontinue the model.
Just to add, Sony is getting infuriating to deal with from a support perspective. Their out sourced call centres are useless for tech support and customer service. They don't read emails properly, or take proper notes, or even understand their own processes. Uuuurgh…..

Hardly a bargain considering these are seconds.

    • -3

So says the person who has only posted a 'deal' for a 3090.

Let me know when you find a cheaper price for these elsewhere.

      • -4

Wow someone has a massive chip on his shoulder. Maybe stop taking make believe internet points so seriously.

        • -2

Simply addressing your "hardly a bargain" statement.

Sony factory seconds are known to be a good deal and sell out immediately without any discounts. In this case, there's other discounts that stack making the price even more attractive.

Post a deal when you find a better bargain on these.

      • -1

"Your opinion is wrong because you've only posted one deal ever"

        Lmao, calm down dude

        • It was more the irony.

"Cheap headphones? Hardly a bargain. This graphics card for above RRP on the other hand…"

  • +1

be careful ordering the 2nd hand earphones, a friend got a pair with yellow ear wax on them from previous owner

  • do seconds get the same warranty as firsts?

    • "All items available to purchase on the Official Sony eBay Store are covered by a full 12 month Sony manufacturer warranty from Sony. Sony provides invoices on all purchases via an email with a PDF."

"As the products being sold may be manufacturer refurbished or factory seconds, minor cosmetic variations may occur. These cosmetic variations have been checked by our Sony Authorised repair agent and do no impact the function of the product. We cannot accept refunds for items based on appearance."

      • If there is 1 year warranty then one cannot go wrong.

  • WH1000XM4B now in stock.

    • -1

Buy me one please. Mx4. Only 264Aud

    • None in stock today of the Sony WH-1000XM4

  • I'm still on the fence on whether I should get a brand new in store WH1000XM4 for $308 or wait to a second gets restock $250 (~$238, 5% total from gift card)

    • It keeps restocking then selling out, I'd recommend checking in the mornings.

      • I mean, if it was you you'd still wait for the seconds??

        • Yeah, shouldn't be a long wait. They were in stock at midday today before they sold out again.

          • @NobalaKoba: Hmm..ok..I could get it a new for $292 (Inc 5% jbhifi gift card) but if I wait for a second hand I could save ~$60 and will be a lottery on which defect it will be…

            • +1

@PeeDee: If it had any defects, it wouldn't be sold via the Sony store with 1 year warranty.

              They're fixed before being re-sold.

              • @NobalaKoba: If there's defects they'd sell it for seconds right? Users reporting occasional drop outs, the cupping a little uncomfortable etc

                • @PeeDee: When that happens they repair then re-sell as refurbished, as they can't be sold as new.

If there's any issues, you can get them repaired under warranty.

Both silver and black are restocked

                  • @NobalaKoba: Yeah I don't feel comfortable with that because for some reason refurbished ones always turn out with problems and it may be due to human error as it's the technicians fiddling with the hardware instead of the machines who make the new ones.

It's 30 days free returns so

  • New low for the WF1000XM4B at $264.10, beating previous low of $279.

  • Yeah, I realised the benefit of buying here is that you can deal your problems directly with Sony whereas bought from retailers you have to head to them

  • Bought one of Sony WH-1000XM4 from these deals.

The headphone is in brand new looking condition.

The only thing that didn't look new is the box, with a few stickers and tapes on it.

Shipping was pretty quick, about 3 business days to Melbourne from the date of order.

  • I've checked every day for the past 4 days and haven't seen the XM4s come back in stock, time to mark it OOS?
