      You can't play next Gen games on the external hard drive unless it is the Seagate xbox series external storage which is quite expensive.

      But for games which are not optimized to xbox series x/s can be played.

      I have HDD 2TB for my xbox series s. It works well. I am happy with that.

        I was buying some of those Seagate 4TB Desktop hard drives back in 2019 from OW for $99. It has not come down in price at all in over 2 years. It should be like $80 by now.
