[eBay Plus] Nitecore D4 Smart Charger $33.90 Delivered @ Lan Plus eBay

240
PLUSEOY

With all the Eneloop and LADDA deals being posted I haven't seen anything for a charger. For those who have not utilised their eBay Plus coupon this seems like a decent buy for the D4 and if you pay with gift cards you can save a little more. It is not the cheapest ever and you may be able to find it cheaper on AliExpress. Hopefully this can help someone!

If you have used your coupon the 'PDEC10' or 'PDEC12' code also works for $39.51/$38.63 delivered expires 20/12/2021 T&Cs.

  • Gees i have this exact one since 8 years ago maybe longer.
Bulky but works but if i dont have one i will get one that more recent brand often posted here. Liitokala.

    • Which one

      • The Liitokala 500 goes for around the same price on aliexpress and they are comparable. Not sure which one is better though. I got the Liitokala 202 a few days ago for around $18 but has only the two slots.

I'd go the LiitoKala 500 over this D4.
The 500 can do up to 1000mA x 4 slots.
          D4 is only 750mA x 2 slots or even worse 375mA x 4, bit low for 2000mAh+ batteries.

          • @bamzero: Yeah, D4's charge time is too slow to my liking.

  • Thanks mate. I've been looking to pick one up.

  • Great for AA. Bit fiddly for AAA’s.

  • The LiitoKala is similar but quite a bit cheaper.

  • Can someone confirm if there are good deals on liitokala at the moment?

  • I have a question that’s a bit off topic.
I have eneloop pros AA that I got yesterday. I put them to charge and a couple hours later it was really hot to the touch. Almost to the point of burning my finger. I left it for longer and it managed to fully charge and cooled down. Any idea if mine is a faulty batch (8 pack BTW)
I used a standard eneloop charger that I already had. Does anybody else’s eneloop pros get this hot?

    • Batteries do get hot when you charge them. This charger even has a 'low' setting for lower capacity batteries. I am not in a hurry and always charge mine on low.

The dumb chargers just dump power into the batteries.

Not aure about the pros, but I suspect burning finger is a bit too hot and there is a problem.

    • Check the instructions that came with your charger (or online). Some models of the eneloop chargers are dumb chargers, and don't detect when peak charge is reached. Dumb chargers assume you are charging flat batteries, and usually turn off after a set amount of time. They might be charging too much, and hence the batteries get hot, which is not very good for the batteries. Your batteries might be fine. Just a thought.
