        • Looking at the detpak level 3 and some lighter (summer ones mentioned above).

I would like a good fit around nose and cheeks. sounds like the Henry ones are a bit big?
          Good price though

          Cheers

          • @G-rig: I'd say I have an average sized face. It's quite big for my wife.
The detpak is thick and is quite stiff so you may struggle for it to nicely wrap around your cheeks and chin

            • @RockyK9: Ok thanks, hard to say but may try a mates detpak again first.

Got some mitre 10 ones last time that are a bit cheqp and Nasty but getting through them.

              Cheers

              • @G-rig: Deepak could be the go, it's just the Henry ones too big but may be ok if throwing away one a Day

      • Yeah but you dont need level 3. There difference between 2 and 3 is for blood strikes. Are you planning on getting high velocity blood strikes?

        • They are pretty good quality and mould well to the face, most of the cheap Chinese ones are rubbish. Level 2 or 3 you can still smell through them (people smoking, other smells) so makes you wonder if either world even protect that much. Just get kn95 if you're worried. Those are hard to breathe in all day though.

          • +1

@G-rig: Smelling odours does not mean the mask is defective or ineffective against COVID.

            • @brendan0: Yeah has to have particles like saliva I guess to transmit it (if someone sneezes on you etc).

    • +1

+2 to the Henry Schein. Thanks for the link, bought 100 for $22 delivered.

    • are they good? price is tempting.

      • Have used them, I like em. I prefer the BYD surgical (ASTM L2) masks over HS though. But BYD is hard to get hold of, so HS is good. Works even better if you can pair it with a mask brace to improve the seal like https://www.armbrustusa.com/products/ftm-mask-brace

        • two masks is getting a bit much but people are talking about it now or upping your quality of mask.

The main idea is that it helps minimise spreading to others (ie coughing, saliva projections, not wearing to stop you catching it (just like the common cold).
Although in theory if both people wear them then it should be relatively safe. The reality is most people may get it at some point, you can't stop it from getting on surfaces and touching face/mask all the time no good over a day.
Funny thing is it's more contagious but the just like a normal cold if you've had the vaccines (hopefully for most). Masks and vaccines alone don't really stop you from getting it but all a line of defence.

    • thanks, got 2 boxes delivered for $21.98 after reading comments on an old deal

I am currently in Singapore and 50 packs of masks are available everywhere from $2 upwards. Someone is making a quid in Oz

    • They must be very proud of themselves. They probably work for 20c a day too.

  • Slightly cheaper per unit and free delivery here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Level-Surgical-Face-Mask-Australia…
    $21.99*0.95/50=$0.4178
    $16.91/40=$0.42275

    • They are different brands though..

      • But the same level 3 and Aussie made

    • +1

Not cheaper if you walk into chemist warehouse if you live close to one

Support aussie another term for I'm a shit business but pay my inflated prices please

    • -2

Have you seen how some of these masks are made in China? Buying super cheap on ebay and taking a gamble on your health isn't ozbargain, it's ozdumb.

Unfortunately "inflated prices" in Australia generally stems from "inflated wages"

      • -2

Thinking the quality of the mask you get is a gamble on your health is ozdumb

    Freight cost AUD 13.91

  • +2

Freight cost for two packs to Tasmania is $54

Don't even bother making an account if you're a Tasmanian.

  • Seems to be free freight to QLD. If you're in the market for 7 boxes, use promo code SHOPNOW ($20 off first order of $100+ exc GST) to get them at $13.76 per box: ($15.37 x 7 - 20) / 7 * 1.1. Or, if you're short on things to buy, do a combined order with other critical products like flat noodle sugarcane bowl lids or packs of 10,000 napkins.

    • thanks mate!

Can confirm free delivery for Vic too.

Not a deal for me, much cheaper to get a medical exemption from a bulk billed doctor.

    • +1

Much cheaper not even to get an exemption, seeing that you don't actually need to provide proof of the "exemption".

  • Ordered a box of each of the Detpak Level 3 Surgical masks and 3 layer community masks. Seemed to be free shipping.

  • SA postage is more reasonable, $3.87 per box
the delivery rate is indexed with the number of boxes, so no benefit to buy in bulk for cheaper postage
    .

  • Has anyone received any notification for shipping or received it? I ordered on 27th Dec and no sign of any shipping notification or delivery

    • +1

ordered 30th of Dec and no shipping confirmation. I sent an email last week no response from them so I decided to call this morning and was told they are still waiting for stock lol. I also ask what if I want a refund and the lady told me to send an email to their sales department (this will end up a couple of weeks again i don't know). So much for australian made eh

      • Thanks for the update. Their website say 2-3 days delay.. this is not good trying to support Australian made goods. What was their phone number?

        • +1

          1300 362 620

Please let me know when you call them.

I will give them by the end of this week and probably will not deal with them again

          • @wilnor: got the email that it has been dispatched today

          • +1

            @wilnor: and delivered today

  • Old one but I felt I needed to post as I always check OzBargain before ordering, might help someone.

Ordered from them more than 2 weeks ago, got the invoice mail and then radio silence. They were showing in stock for all items I ordered. They didn’t send any emails for the delay nor give an ETA. When I called they were quite lax as well, ‘yeah, we are late, stock might come end of next week’

All in all, bad experience. If you need these soon, buy directly from a store. Giving it a minus in the hopes people read this comment and plan accordingly. Also hope they read this somehow and change their business practices, you can’t say 3 days and go mute for 2 weeks and deliver after a month.
