Been watching these for months. The normal prices are somewhat reasonable for what you get and discounts are rare. So this is a big deal. This package of features just can't be found on any other product:

  • 2 in 1 convertible form factor.
  • Weighs only 1kg.
  • Pen included.
  • 3 year warranty.

Now if only they would discount the 16GB models too …

Surcharge applies for select payment methods.

This was the "recommended" laptop for my kids high school… paid $2k a few weeks earlier. Ouch.

This is a good price. However, the normal price is not reasonable at all having seen the product in flesh (not a premium product in this price category in my view).

    • NSGHS by any chance?

my son's HS suggested "don't spend thousands of dollars on a laptop", however, their recommended laptops are all within the 1500-2500 range.

  • Why they are so expensive, is it better than XPS 2-1. Bought 2 days back around 1500 if cashback is honoured. Did I missed something?

    • IMHO they are on a different league. Way better than the xps. But as I said, that's my opinion and I would always take it over a xps

  • Dell has never made a 2 in 1 which gets anywhere near the weight of this product. If weight doesn't matter then Dell XPS is great option.

    • I had a bad experience with a Dell XPS convertible (7-8 years ago). Uncomfortable keyboard/touchpad, and low-quality hardware (needed to get serviced 3 times in the first 2 years, once for keyboard replacement, and once for screen replacement). We got a lot of 10, and 3 of them got screen replaced in 2 years. The mainboard on mine died after 3 years.

Wondering whether I should give another try now :(

  • I was considering between Inspiron 15 2in1 and Surface Laptop 4 and now this.

Any recomendation between this 3 ?

They're 3 different products. The Dell is 15" 2-in-1, this is a 13" 2-in-1, and the laptop is…well a laptop. It depends what form factor you want and how you'll use it.

      • Thanks @incipient.

And the dell one comes with full sized key board too. But I was wondering which one would be the value for money as all three sits around same price (1200-1300)

And I just need a windows machine and all 3 will do the job.

Inspiron is low end crap. Not a business laptop by any means even if Dell tries to tell us that. Surface laptop is OK but the dynabook is more in the class of surface book than surface laptop. Definitely the best option out of the three

    470 Nits wow!

  • We've been pushed into the HP Elitebook 830 x360 G8 - 13.3" for $1599 but on very quick glance, this seems the same and cheaper. I like the quick charge as the buggers forget so often and they could charge this during snack etc.

The school has all the software preloaded and they fix the laptops with the 3 years when doofus drops them etc, am thinking it's best to pay the money, even though it seems (or feels to be fair) like the vendor is taking the mickey.

Apologies as haven't done by own analysis but a busy parent putting out spot fires/ time poor, as most of us are. Appreciate any feedback if someone has any. Ta

Gotta say an 'unlimited' warranty including breakages is worth a lot, particularly if they swap it over straight away vs waiting for weeks / months on a regular repair.

  • Any other retailers stock this? I have gc’s that I want to use

    • Doesn’t look like it
May be harder to claim warranty and such.

  • What about compared to

    HP Envy x360 13.3-inch R5-4500U/8GB/256GB
    $1298

Nothing can match the weight (1kg) of the Dynabook at this price. The comparable HP machine is the Dragonfly.

  • I have bought this laptop, it arrived today, but it has a nice yellow tint (even in BIOS so it's not a Windows colour management issue). Seems like it's time to contact Dynabook :(
