Grud! not a bargain, just a useless gimmick, proven time and time again.

    • sorry for that, i have tested it on my Nokia before post, it works well. I will choose better deal next time. Thanks.

  • Have seen many similar Stylus pens like this on ebay for a similar price.

got one off eBay and it was crap, you're better off paying extra and getting a decent one from a shop here

    • What was wrong with it? Can you give us a link to a better one?

      • Didn't work and no .., given up on cheapos, might try the links below or grab one from myer/target/dick smiths

    • how do you know this one is any better

  • Thanks for the tips

    Was about to purchase one

  • Are there any stylus pens with a finer tip like the ones used in resistive screens like the DS?

    • I don't think they work on the ipad.

    • Have a look at this Jot-Pro: http://adonit.net/product/jot-pro/

Its got the smallest tip for a capacitive screen stylus. I've ordered one, based on good reviews by some friends.

      • That looks like it's just asking for the plastic tip to get broken.

      • Still has a disc end. Is it impossible to make a fine tipped capacitive stylus of the same size as a resistive one?

        • Yes it is. iOS is limited to 8mm or bigger, because of the size of a human finger. This will never change.

  • Better off with the Samsung Galaxy Note if you really want to use a stylus imo

  • These cheap stylus' are rubbish, better off investing in a decent one if you're serious about using one.

so this is unlikely to do if you're just interested in poking the screen as opposed to sliding about it? (if you've ever tried to use a smart phone (or can imagine trying to use one) in -25degC you'll understand the question :) )

I'm confused, no one has offered any other alternative. Do they all just suck and you're better off using your finger instead?

      Decent ones work very well.

The Wacom Bamboo Stylus is around $35 AUD, has a finer tip than most other stylus so it's quite accurate but still uses the rubber nub which does unfortunately deteriorate over time. Replacement nubs cost around $8.

There is also the Adonit Jot for around $20 which uses a clear plastic disk instead of a nub as the stylus head so you can see the point at which you are writing/drawing. This means you get a very accurate touch on par with a pen, not a big 8mm nub as with other styli. The only drawback to the Jot is that it has the potential to scratch the screen if any dust or particles get between the disk and the screen. A screen protector is a must.

http://www.thestyluscompany.com/ has pretty much every stylus ever made, with $3.95 (from memory) shipping.
