Personal Finance Tracker Spread Sheet $6 (Was $8) @ CompiledSanity Personal Finance

1511

Started 2022 looking at my new worth with my investment properties leveraged to the tits - Pilbara has never let me down.

According to the spreadsheet, my net worth went down after I bought my 3rd investment property in Mount Druitt? Otherwise, been a great way for me to track my finances.

        • Sure anyone can make it in theory but it would take days or more likely weeks for a casual Sheets user. $6 is an absolute bargain IMHO

I smell affiliation in some way also. Bit too defensive in replies to not be.

I just care deeply about the internet points

        • when is the half price for ozbargainers and your internet points? ;)

    • Hi there. I've been using Pocketbook for years but I think they've gone downhill and it's very buggy and unreliable now.
I'm looking at alternatives and Frollo is one of candidates. Have you used any others? What's your take on Frollo?
      Cheers!!

      • Pretty close to perfect. It does take awhile to synch but you can go to another screen and you'll get notified when it's done. And the other downside is that it can't do joint accounts yet.

WeMoney is another option but they're not registered with open banking so maybe against the terms and conditions for your bank. It's also a little clunky but they have a Instagram like community!

A bit overengineered for my liking. I prefered this free one https://thedeepdish.org/net-worth-tracking/

I prefer to use a wallet to track my wealth

  • What's the highest networth user sitting at that uses this?

    • User details aren't accessible to anyone other than the user…

  • Its a $2 saving?

    • Bargain, right? 🤣

      • Don't spend it all at on….

        And it's gone.

  • Investing in mt druitt real estate is actually a marijuana legalisation play

  • Anyone wanna go halves?

    • On the spreadsheet or weed

      • Spreadsheet. I'm keen to give it a go

      • Lol…both?

OP has done good work in developing this but he/she should have clearly mention the association. No harm in marketing the good work.
Github version has been removed, possibly after seeing the comment from other ozbargainer. Now the free download option unavailable.

    • You can still download the free Google sheet, but yeah, it was a douche move by OP and proved even more so the affiliation.

The Money Manager app is simple and free.

It tracks what comes in and what goes out, no need to open, close, update a spreadsheet.

Hi I checked app store and there's a few with this name

Which one are you referring to

There's money manager by draw puzzle games (yellow piggy bank icon)

Money manager by realbyte Inc (red piggy bank icon)

Money manager by innim mobile (dollar sign icon)

    • hi uncle leo can you let me know which one please

      • Hi, it's the Yellow one by Draw Games.

I swear by it, free, no adds and simple

Was gonna buy it until scrolling through to see OP clearly didn't disclose his association and all the crazy permissions it requires (can't imagine why calendar is needed). You never know where that info goes.

Do you have a Bloomberg account for all that live info? They cost a few grand a year, so you'll need a few hundred sales to keep it up.

  • Anyone could recommend a good Investment Property Cashflow spreadsheet with current estimated rates( tax bracket, estimated rates, costs ect.) Please

  • OP what's your recommendation for a no cost office licence? I don't have Microsoft Office for excel to work :(

    • +2

This works on google spreadsheet which is free. U wouldn't need Microsoft office excel for this

  • +1

Not a bad sheet. Started using earlier last year and have found it good to get a handle on where all my finances are at. Also I notice the nice graphs and savings targets do encourage better choices of investment over spending and somewhat soothe the lack of instant gratification.

The permissions are concerning. OP Can you do something about that???

I have extended it with additional worksheets to better suit my needs, but still worth $6 as a one-off.

  • Does anyone know of a free app which is good at tracking spending and income related to a budget so that the actuals and budgeted figures can be easily compared?

    • I just setup Buckets - https://www.budgetwithbuckets.com. It's complementary to CompiledSanity which is better at tracking financial position (I don't use the budget tab). My plan is CompiledSanity tracks the total monthly spend alongside all other investments, and I can budget/track/analyse the monthly spend in buckets.

You can use fully featured for free and donate $49 once you're happy with it - it sets up a budgeting bucket of $5pm, but it seems you can adjust/delete.

    • Frollo or wemoney are free

  • How long does it usually take to receive the email?

  • This vs wemoney?

  • I've been using YNAB (Classic) since 2009 but I've always been looking for something to take its place since there are emerging apps with great features. Most are in cloud or tap in to your account but I also want to track accounts which aren't bank related (gift cards and cash in wallet).
Is there a way to migrate this kind of data from YNAB4 to CS and/or BudgetwithBuckets? I believe I tried in the past with little success. Wondering if someone came up with a solution recently.

    • Buckets has a YNAB import. I don't know how good it is though.

  • Do you need to put all the shares and quantities In yourself or does it like to brokers?

    • Manual entry of ticker, buy/sell quantity and price. Everything else worked out from there automatically with GoogleFinance. Pretty sure you can free trial the older version.

Works pretty good I've only hit a snag with GoogleFinance not working for ASX:GOLD
