surely we can all agree harvey norman deals should be banned for a while

    • are they making money on this though? I wont support them but i will take a product they make no money on..

      • +12

It’s Gerry Harvey. Of course they’re making money on it. They probably got it at a cost price of $0.30/each

        • I am sure Gerry used a chargeback on the wholesaler as well.

          • @iNeed2Pee: 90% sure they're also advertising stock they don't have, will take money for, cherry pick who gets what and everyone else will get notified about it later and maybe get a refund in a few days like the last few deals from them.

    • They are still better than the PSA "deals" off late.

    • +2

Does it come with a free RAT?

    • banned for a while

      100 years? Too short?

      • i mean, i do like a good deal…

  • anyone Else Matching ?

    • EB or JB will no problem.

I genuinely thought the servers for this had been shut down already. Catastrophic failure of a launch

    • +4

hense why online only games are an absolute waste of resources.

The market is over saturated and this was a game that could have been easily offline single player.

But nooooooo you can whale players that way!

      • Hard to get the whale dollars when the game never had microtransactions or DLC.

        • assumed when the game was changed from a campaign story game to a "always online looter shooter" and they started advertising content packs, having pre-order packs and a day one edition that they'd gone full stupid on microtransactions

      • +3

It sold 3.5mil copies and was never supposed to be a "Live Service" game. There's not been a single piece of paid content outside the initial purchase, you buy it, play the 15-20hr campaign and maybe grind some gear with friends.

This was a really great "looter-shooter" fix without any of the commitment other games in the genre require. The devs nailed the loot and player power without breaking the game. At launch there were some very severe technical problems that have been mostly addressed and the game is in a great spot. For $10 you can't go wrong.

no, the game has gotten a major patch and is genuinely fun to play, with an expansion coming later this year…definitely recommend giving this a shot if you can find it cheap…they even had a sale and the game was 60% off for a month in november on all platforms.

  • online only?

    • +1

I’m not 100% but I think it needs a online connection to play but I don’t think you need to have Xbox live or psn??

      I could be wrong

this popped up on Game Pass and i had a crack at it. Such a good game! haven't that this much fun with a shooter-rpg in a while.
Trying to get to end game so i can do some coooop stuff

  • FYI trade in value at EB is $9 + your level bonus.

  • -5

I can get it in store. and even at this price this game is still not worth it lol.

I play it on gamepass on PC, and I would never buy this game, its that rubbish. With out a mouse and keyboard this game is terriable so I wouldn't look at a console buy ever.

  • For $9, this is worth it. Yeah, servers can be a pain but I got through it - good fun.

    • -3

they need to fix all these issues first before I would ever give this game a chance.

  • Noob question. Why does everyone hate Harvey Norman?

    • +11

Because Gerry Harvey gives rapatious capitalists a bad name?

Curerntly he is suspected of having influenced Morrison to not provide RA tests free of charge, as HN sell them.

Previously he was a vocal campaigner for implementing GST on all overseas purchases rather than the previous limit of $1000.

He whinges about Australian wages as he cannot pay lower rates for staff for his horse stud?

In an interview in 2008, he described giving charity to the homeless as "a waste", and said that it was "helping a whole heap of no-hopers to survive for no good reason".

In 2016, Harvey expressed contempt for what he saw as political uncertainty since John Howard left office, and said the only solution is "to have a dictator like in China".

      Many other reasons.

      • I agree with all the above and obviously his recent rort where he kept all that money he was given as supposed support during the pandemic before he posted a record profit was an absolute joke. But honestly, it pains me to say it, blame the govt. they could have asked for it back if they wanted it and we all know it. Meanwhile they were chasing all these overpayments from all these people in a terrible financial position.

Gerry is a dick, but honestly how many fantastic gentle loving caring honest multi millionaires do you know.

    • +5

Kept $22mil in taxpayer JobKeeper payments after increasing their revenue during pandemic. Gerry aggressively campaigned for GST on international purchases.

      • Yep only cares about making more money does not care if he steals it from the people or the govt such a mug. I boycott his stores because of this

This, also see HN and Jobkeeper. Personally, I don't & won't shop there. Shop for Boomers that love sky news.

People are just jealous they don't make his kind of bread

      • This is what happens in a capitalist nation. People defending actions of inconsiderate money hungry douchbags and Djokovic the returning "champion" defending his winnings with a separate set of rules to the general pleb public

      • Nah his dough is sour man, he is crusty and stale…a crumby guy.

  • +3

Lots of reasons. Off the top of my head:
His role in getting GST for overseas purchases introduced. His hate of "professional" ozbargainers. His whingeing about wanting cheap foreign workers instead of paying proper wages to locals. Whingeing about not being able to find workers to clean his stables. Poor guy. I'm sure theres more

Just noticed this, does anyone know if it's $10 for PS5 version too? Seems like a great price, always heard the game was good!

    Thanks

    • +1

It should be, listing says PS4 & PS5, and the physical PS4 version has a free upgrade to PS5 version.
