SoundCloud members are getting free Ableton Live Lite 8, including the free members. So anyone who is a buff music producer (or wants to be one) can sign up for SoundCloud and will get a link in their email to download Ableton Live Lite 8. It is the lowest end version of Ableton, but hey it is for free.
Actually no. Lite is free when you purchase certain music production hardware. By itself you can't purchase or get Lite. You can get Ableton Intro which is closest to Lite, in terms of the limitations on the product, however costs approximately USD100.
Lite also gives you a good discount on the full suite via upgrade too.
Another good point. I believe its approximately 30% or more you save when you upgrade from Lite as opposed to purchasing the full suite or Live 8.
A SoundCloud account is a bargain in itself. So much free music. :)
