Razer Kiyo X 1080p Webcam $69 (50% off RRP) + Delivery ($0 with $200 Spend) @ Wireless 1

180

I've been looking for a webcam that isn't terrible, and this price at Wireless1 is a fair stack cheaper than others even if you grab Express shipping.

This does 1080p at 30fps, 720p at 60, and apparently has an incredibly average microphone - though I'm going to be using an external one for it.

Here's a review I found - https://www.windowscentral.com/razer-kiyo-x-review

Image quality seems pretty damn good. I got it because it was far cheaper than the Logitech C920 at Officeworks.

It's the lightring-less version of the Razer Kiyo, so it's cheaper than than that one. Kiyo Pro exists and costs heaps, so let's not talk about it.

RRP is around $150, but this is being sold for about $100 everywhere else.

Hope you're all cool with that.

Updated - Ordered in the afternoon today, and it's been shipped already.

  • Was selling for $65 from Mwave from their Boxing day sales.

Very flexible mount, moreso than traditional ones but not quite as good as the microsoft lifecam hd-3000

  • price matched with jb hifi

    • Wow! I didn't think they would do that… That would've saved me $9 express postage costs

  • I have one and can recommend for this price for sure!

  • It's basically the regular Kiyo without a ring light. Worth spending the extra for a C920/C922, Logitech Streamcam or Kiyo Pro.

  • Work great on my linux box; but ive heard more than a handful of users complain about driver lockups on windows.

Just fyi; might be fine now.

    • I've got a Linux and Mac use case, so that sounds good to me

  • Any thoughts/experience on the Kiyo X versus the Creative Live V2 webcam?
    ($50 from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/670535 )

To be used to work Teams/Zoom calls mostly, usually with a headset mic but sometimes without.

From my understanding the mic(s) are better on the Creative, but video quality/colours/low light performance is better on the Kiyo X.

    • +2

I got the Creative Live V2, picture quality is poor. I would not recommend.

    • +1

I think that the Live v2 is 720p max, but obviously a good, cheap option at it’s presumably clearance price

    • +1

10/10 get the Kiyo. THe Creative Live V2 is very entry level.

The Kiyo has good picture quality and driver support.

  • Nice ;)

  • Does this support Windows Hello? If not, I'd rather pay the extra coin for this https://www.betta.com.au/lenovo-500-fhd-webcam-817448

    • there are very few in the market at the moment that support windows hello. It's essentially the lenovo the logitech brio, Dell ultrasharp and Kaysuda CA20.

  • apologies for this silly question, but can confirm explain to me what's the difference between these 60-120bucks branded webcams vs just an ebay one for 20 bucks?
    I mean they're also 1080pm. it's a webcam after all.

    • I'm not really an expert, but have bought a cheapie off Amazon before.

Apart from a bit of a fish eye effect, it did the job for work meetings via Teams/Zoom, etc.

If you're a sales rep/dealing with clients, may want something a bit better, but for basic internal stuff, who cares.

    • I've had a bad run with compatibility with Linux and Macs with cheapies.

Sometimes they work well, sometimes they're terrible.

It's nice to have a picture that isn't totally garbage, and with the Amazon and Ebay cheapies it's hard to know which ones are good and which ones are trash because the brands change so damn often.
