      • Check their website, they have an update listed on there:
        https://www.werko.com.au/rapid-antigen-test-announcement/

      • Probably had the government poach their stock.

        • Probably had the government poach their stock.

          False news.

          That very article says:

Prof Trent Twomey, the national president of the Pharmacy Guild, said his members were struggling to secure stock and many had had orders delayed by their suppliers. However, he said anecdotal reports from his members that stock was being requisitioned by governments had proved to be unsubstantiated.

  • Haha these guys closed down in my local shopping centre selling art stuff, maybe this might be a better business approach

    • Sometimes I'm surprised by the number of people you find in Spotlight/Lincraft stores. But all that floor space and the products they sell aren't expensive, have to wonder how they stay alive, if at all.

  • +3

Bizarre some of the places that are stocking RATs.

Pre order is the only way some people can get them as for whatever reason they are incapable of finding existing stock be it physical or online. This should not be an issue for any good Ozbargainer.

Pre order saves the business from getting caught with stock when (if) supply jumps.

Pickup would be a a nice option.

  • Waiting for the Amazon S&S deals

  • Doesn't come up on TGA? What is the sensitivity?

  • +1

How many can pensioners get for resale value

  • I called up 20 pharmacys last week to only end up finding a place that would sell me a pack of 2.

So now i've ordered 2 of these 5 packs.

Should last me a while (hopefully).

    • Why are you testing so much?

      • Not just for me. It’s for the family. If you have multiple people sick you want to get them all tested.

My in-laws all got COVID. We all tested with RATs and we’re lucky we didn’t have it.

      • Maybe he has a wife and 3 kids?

  • Don't they hand them out free at testing centers?

    • +1

Not all of them. And when they do they often run out quickly.

  • +2

Seriously…. They should all be less than $5 per test! Absolute rip off!

    • +3

      they should be free.

i want to see the harvey norman haters go and buy kits from harvey norman ….. what price is integrity when you want something ….

  • Still expensive

  • +3

How come all those random stores managed to secure stock but the government couldn't? St Ali, Lincraft, … What next, get a big Mac, get 50% off a kit? While paying GST on it.

    • If the stores put their orders in before the govt, then the stores will get it first.
The govt has been receiving plenty, but they also have to give out plenty as well.

      • They keep saying they received plenty, how they used them is a mystery. They've made plenty of empty announcements in the past

        • +1

Is it really a mystery? Hospitals, testing centres, schools, various departments around the entire country need them.

    • +1

The government literally put their order in last week. Businesses would have done this months ago.

As always with this lot, it's too little, too late.

  • +1

Benefits of having a nurse as a partner. If I ever need a test I'll be right. Never had one so far though. She has to have them before every shift.

  • Ughh. This site..
This is hardly a "deal". Just an overpriced PSA..

  • +2

Interesting to compare this deal to this one:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678506

The difference is only $1 per test (if you include delivery), so this one is just as overpriced, isn't it? Why so many more upvotes?

    • +1

      Supply and location

      • This deal is for an online pre-order, and all of the people who voted negatively complained about the price, not availability.

    • Coles one is "high sensitivity", this one is "very high sensitivity". Also it is not really fair to include shipping cost as your "overpriced" judgement. A lot of retailors charge shipping, even Coles does it unless you exceed their free delivery threshold. In this case you can't even get it online even though you may want to pay for shipping.

      • Good points!

A more fair comparison would be this one then, which rightly received many upvotes: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/676387
Having seen it as cheap is less than $9 per test, I'd be waiting for a better deal.

        • It's a better deal for sure, but unfortunately it is out of stock at the moment.

      • Sorry, but this is Ozbargain and you must be new here (even if reg'd in 2012)…

You absolutely DO include shipping costs. If the 5 pack pops up again at CW, MyC or HealthyLife - you will get it with free shipping at ~$50 total

Most ozbargainers who actually need to use the kit (not stocking up for later), the difference between the High & V High probably is less important than getting ripped off

        • Sorry mate, did I say it is a bargain? Also could you get it at the time you need it at any store you mentioned NOW? Don't use "if" or "probably", it doesn't make any sense for a high demand product with limited supply Right NOW. You don't care ("High & V High probably is less important than getting ripped off") doesn't mean other people don't care. You have absolute no way to represent people here in Ozbargain!

      • Also - it was a 2 pack for $30 - one per customer. I just bought 10 from Lincraft.

  • $14 each and delivery over a week away. No deal.

  • +2

This deal gets 43 positive, 0 negative votes..
    But https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/678465 has 5 positive, 7 negative - even though it's cheaper.

  • These are listed as very high sensitivity by the TGA so 95% accurate if used properly according to their scale. Some some approved are as low as 80%

    • I've known symptomatic people with proven covid take the 'high sensitivity' 90% and it showing negative… if I have the opportunity, it's 95% "very high" or nothing.

  • +1

Just spoke with the National Distributor of Clungene and he said there is no way you can get it until 2nd or 3rd week of Feb. The TGA was approved only about a week ago and there simply isnt enough time for the factory to make the packaging designed specifically to home use standard. Then there is Chinese New Years in Feb as well as flight disruptions which happens on a daily basis.

    Purchased this instead: https://megaofficesupplies.com.au/clungene-rapid-antigen-lat…

Add in a clip for less than a dollar, for free shipping

  • Cheers 3per

  • Soon, everyone has an ABN probably going to jump on this gravy train, just like the hand sanitiser in 2020.

  • By the time these arrive ScoMo would have probably done another backflip and will be handing these out for free

Where's all the negative nancys that posted on other deals for the same price? Hello?

    • Honeypot comment lol

      • There's no need to be shy, I welcome all votes and comments as long as they are genuine!
