What's the 1 2 3 tab on refinery.fyi for? It shows different price

    • +1

Next cheapest options of each category mate

      • Why would i want to lock next cheapest? And why there are three ?

        • +1

When primary best site has updated but the crawler has not, secondary is your backup site to go to

    • +1

It assists in deciding when to lock in prices. If next price is a big jump, then there's a good chance you'll regret not locking in sooner

      • +1

So 1 is today best price, 2 is tomorrow best price? And 3 is what?

        Edit.

Ok just tested all 3 coordinates.

        All are current prices..

So if price keep increasing between 1,2,3 it means fuel price trending up?

How do i know if it’s trending down?

        • +1

          Current prices.
Only way to know is fuelwatch WA.
Vu has incorporated it into refinery
Only a good indicator of trend if the current cheapest is WA. (Or at least that’s what I think)

        • +1

Projectzero trend graph is best. Specifically TGP is better because you can trends up and down. The 711 prices soon follow.

In short, its still trending up, no relief in the short term.

          • @Sweetnsour: how do read trend on there/?

            • @capslock janitor: TGP (orange line) the gate price goes up (lately) and down. The prices then follow the trend usually about 3-5 days later. Eg May 5 the gate price jumped up, then May 9th the 711 price went up. It's not exact science but a bit like the weather - mostly right but occasionally wrong :)

        • It's current prices. The 2nd and 3rd options exist as a backup in case the first price increases and the existing price is still cached. Alternatively, I usually flip across to 2nd and 3rd and if it's the same price I will lock in with 2nd or 3rd. Not sure why, spread the love?

  • WA's cheapest day is Tuesdays

  • Is there a story behind the little incremental decreases in Ingleburn, NSW today? Is there a local price war going on? TIA.

    • +1

I'm not sure, it keeps dropping by 1c every now and then

      • Indeed, appears to be 1c drop every 30 mins approximately. Hmmm, when to lock-in? (Wondering if someone in the area knows of a price-war with another station or similar)

        • they really set up a 1c war?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: It looks that way. If nothing else it makes for a pretty graph on Project Zero three. But I think it's just started to level out. Not complaining about a 7c saving in current prices (7c x say 140 litres (2 cars), would be $9.80)…

            • +1

@z z: App is showing it has dropped again. Speedway dropped first. P03 hasn't updated quite yet.

              • +1

@sween64: My poor chopper is burning fuel waiting to take off…

                • +1

                  @z z: Make new accounts.

My choppers keep flying and landing

                  • @cwongtech: Indeed. Great thinking. My fleet as grown exponentially recently =>

                    • @z z: Each time I land.. the price keeps dropping!

                      • +1

@cwongtech: The drops for today seem to have finally stopped. Although Speedway is still 1c cheaper than 7-Eleven so there might be another price war tomorrow. Woolworths gave up they're 8c behind Speedway (before any discounts).

    • +5

Despite prices in Sydney having recently risen there appears to be two Ampols, a Speedway and 7-Eleven in Ingleburn that have significantly lower prices (20 to 30c cheaper) than the surrounding suburbs.

Edit: Actually it's just 1 Ampol, the other Ampol is now a 7-Eleven but Petrol Spy hasn't updated the store details.

  • Is anyone finding Ingleside 7/11 isn't showing in the app?

    • Do you mean Ingleburn? The current cheapest.

      • Damn, no wonder I couldn't find it :)

  • And choppers down… Ingleburn has finished it's ~8 hour run crawl.

    • Missed it ☹️

    • Wow. I didn’t expect the prices to go up again tonight. Glad I locked it in at the bottom :)

      • I didn't get tipped off 🥺
        What was the bottom?

        • +1

          168.9 for 91
Buckle up and see what happens today

        • The last I saw was 181.9 for U95.

  • Wow, that was a quick drop and rebound.

    • +1

Lmao. Don’t know how I completely missed the above discussion re: ingleburn. Was it just a price war with the locals?

      • I think it is happening again - just locked in premium at 199.9

        • +1

It's been that price or cheaper since Saturday.

  • -1

Can confirm they're still banning accounts. I reset IP, cache and made new account. All worked.

Asked happygo to lock in. Banned.

    • Why is your comment negged?

      • No idea…

        • +3

its cos they're still paying happygo to lock in despite the fact it has been mentioned here several times that it will get you banned…

          • @CodeXD: I didn't pay. I was hoping the issue was resolved. All options are paid methods weather wish gift cards or donations or happygo.

You're paying one way or another.

Unless you make a chopper phone which can't be done on Huawei.

            • @neofelis:

              …So you did pay?

              • @Ten: Haha clearly said I didn't pay. I emailed them. Problem still persists.

                • +5

                  @neofelis:

Haha clearly said I didn't pay. I emailed them. Problem still persists.

There is nothing clear in your posts. The fact that we are still discussing a paid service (for everyone but you, apparently) that clearly doesn't work properly is bizarre and I'm not sure why it's allowed in this thread as it will most likely steer other confused users to the service. I also doubt many users here are interested in troubleshooting the paid service issues.

There's an old saying "If you want it done right, do it yourself", weather you like it or not. I'd recommend reading through the countless posts of other people getting instructions on how to lock fuel in using various devices. Otherwise there is a Classifieds section that you can post in with your hand out and someone might lock it in for you.

                  • +1

@Ten: He he, weather. I see what you did here

          • @CodeXD: Got it. Thanks

  • Hi,

I'm trying to do this on my MacBook, but every time I download .NET it successfully installs, but I am unable to find it anywhere in my files or applications list. I have also tried 3uTools, but it's ".exe," so it's not compatible with MacOS.

If it helps, my MacOS is using MacOS Big Slur, Version 11.5.2, and is a MacBook Pro, 2019.

    • It’s a .net framework. Nothing to run after it’s installed.
      Then run iFakeLocation?

  • I can't seem to get to a login screen with the 7-eleven app. I get the A02 error message.

    SafetyNet Passes.

Tried clearing storage & cache for 7-eleven and chrome apps and uninstalling/reinstalling.

Any ideas? The 7-eleven app doesn't appear to be trying to launch the chrome browser to login.

    • Been having that issue myself for about 3 weeks now and not sure why. Another person in this thread earlier was able to fix theirs.

      • +1

        Try this:

Go to the Android Settings > Apps > Settings / 3 dot menu.

Look under the Default Apps category > Browser App.

Change Browser app to another browser. If you don't have another option, install another browser like Firefox from the Play store.

        • +1

Yeah tried chrome, edge, opera, Firefox. Mine just seems to not be able to open any app from the 7 eleven app. Not sure what has changed.

        • Can also confirm this doesn't work with any alternative browser. The 7-eleven app seems to fail to launch any browser.

          • @gyrex: I just fixed this issue on my device by installing chrome / samsung internet from gplay. the rom i used have no browser

            im using
            Samsung note 8
            deluxerom v32
            safetynet all pass

    • I'm going to try reflashing the stock ROM on my phone, re-rooting etc and will try again. I'll report back if it works or not.

      • +1

Try and see if it works without rooting the phone first.

        • Yeh, after reflashing the stock ROM and without rooting, the 7-eleven app works again. I've just installed TWRP & am re-rooting again, will report back.

          • +1

@gyrex: Confirmed that it works fine now. Not sure what happened. I also downgraded to Magisk v23 since I had some issues with v24 and never had any issues prior to upgrading.

  • Not sure what's going on with the IOS app but I can't sign in. The SIGN IN button goes green but no progress when I tap on it. App version 2.4.10.27455 IOS version 15.5

    • Was working fine when I got a lock at 05:00 this morning.

    • Have you tried changing the default browser?

    • +1

Think I have narrowed it do to Pi-hole on my home network. Works fine on 4G. Something in the app must have changed because it used to work fine with Pi-Hole enabled.

  • I can't register on iOS.

The email verification link comes through and opens the 7-Eleven app, but it's stuck on the screen saying "verification email sent" or w/e.

    • See if you can force the link to open in a browser.

      • I can definitely open the link.

The problem is that the app won't go past the screen saying:

        Verification email sent

        when I click the link.

        https://i.imgur.com/9IUtKT7.png

    • Try to copy the link and open it in a private tab, that might prevent it from opening the 7-Eleven app.

      • Is it not supposed to open the 7-Eleven app?

The link I get in the verification email is https://links.7eleven.com.au/appredirect/?action=email-registration&data=[long string of characters]

In chrome / safari on mobile it loads this page when I go back to the browser https://i.imgur.com/QY5gv9W.png

Does anyone know when we will see a drop in these prices? It's quite ridiculous at this point!

    • +4

Nope. The cycles are coming down but the overall trend is on the way up. It's also unfortunate for us chopper flyers that the different cities' cycles are also synchronised. These are both useful resources that are in the OP:
      https://informedsources.com/petrol-chart/
      https://projectzerothree.info/trends.php

      • At current prices it may be cheaper to pump at Coles/WW with 4c discount and discounted gift cards if you have access to them

        • I can never be certain that my local Caltex will take GCs, can you work it out?

          • @sween64: ah Caltex can be a hit and miss. I normally stick to EG stations (WW branded) that will definitely accept Wish gift cards.

          • +1

@sween64: Look for ones with 8c signage, those take e-gift cards

  • It looks like the price is slightly going down. Last Friday I locked in 179.9 but today I can lock in 177.5 (ULP91).
Wonder if it's going to go lower tomorrow….

To fill up today or not to fill up today is the million dollar question.

btw, I'm from WA and here our servos are not allowed to change their fuel price throughout the day but I'm curious if 7 Eleven in other states do that, or are they fixed for 24 hours? Based on the Refinery and 11-Seven sites, it appears they are fixed but I wasn't sure if it's just because the data isn't constantly maintained throughout the day or not.

    • Only WA have the 24-hour rule, 7-Eleven elsewhere can and do change during the day. Have a look at 11-Seven's trends page and you can see all fuels at Ingleburn NSW going down 1 cent every half hour Tuesday last week.

On Refinery after 2:30 PM AWST I check FuelWatch to see if tomorrow's prices are cheaper. If they are then I show a banner so you can decide when to lock then.

      • +1

Yeah I knew we were the only ones with the 24hr rule, but I just hadn't noticed the prices on the Refinery site updating other than at 12:01 AEST each day. I also check FuelWatch after 2:30pm as well, then decide when to lock in.

I need to start checking 11-Seven as well then by the looks of things, as it may be updated more often. Thanks for the info.

        • +5

We both update at different intervals all day. Both have a last updated date you can check to make sure it’s the latest prices.

Does anyone know how to link Velocity? I keep getting an error “Something went wrong” after I click on agree.

    • Go to your phone's internet browser and go to https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/

      Make sure you're signed out.

      Then retry in 7/11

It glitches out if you're already signed in via browser

      • +1

i went to Safari, but was already signed out.

Sometimes when I click on Link Velocity in 7/11 the entire app just crashes.

        Appreciate the suggestion.

      • +1

        its working now miraculously

  • hmm… anyone else having issues with Master's site?

    • back up now!

  • +1

Anyone having trouble with the 711 app on iOS?
Just tried to lock in (using 3uTools for location). Location is working. The app finds the 5 closest stations, but then it just sits on that screen (10 mins now) and never brings up the lowest price. My only option is to cancel.

Tried updating 3uTools driver and restarted iphone.

    ??

    • +2

Ok. All good. Looks like the app has a little bug.
Solution: Choose a different fuel type, then go back to your original fuel type.

    • +2

I’ve noticed that but I just cancel after waiting 20 seconds and then it works

    • +3

It does that often. Nothing to do with 3uTools.

Just close the app completely and try again. Usually works the 2nd time.

      • +1

        Good to know.

        Nothing to do with 3uTools.

Yes, I noted that location was working.
Just thought it might be helpful info for anyone helping me with troubleshooting.

anyone know why diesel is trending up? seems to be trending up a lot past week or 2.

    • +1

anyone know why diesel is trending up?

The diesel delivery trucks are paying more their fuel.

  • Anyone getting E01 error when trying to lock? on iOs and using 3utools. I locked twice today and failing on the 3rd try.

    • E01 for iOS?

E01 is safetynet test fail for Android (rooted phone)

@sween64 might be able to provide commentary..
