Kingston Fury Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 5200MHz CL40 DDR5 RAM $512 ($499.20 with eBay Plus) Delivered @ gg.tech365 eBay

PJAN20PJAN22

Quite a good price on this high end DDR5 RAM from Kingston that's currently selling for $599 at Mwave.

Edit: Rep just advised the RAM is infact 5200MHz and not 6000MHz.

An excellent choice for rendering or for games that can take better advantage of faster memory like Star Citizen.

  • surely cl40 makes it crapola? XD

    • Not the worst in the world. It'd still out perform DDR4 since the timings aren't 1:1 and higher bandwidth. Certainly a cheaper option with how expensive DDR5 can be.

    • It's still a great deal faster than DDR4 if the software can take advantage of it.

      • For the moment, that's a big if.

        • It may be an if in relation to current software but it's a matter of when and not if going forward.

          It already does.

by the time it does, it will be way cheaper.

        Not worth it.

Running good DDR4 (easy to find and cheap these days) for the time being until DDR5 improves / gets cheaper is the way to go.

      • Already does.

No, CAS latency must increase with higher cycles.

  • I thought that price was for the DDR5 production line not 32gb of ram

  • Wow 5200MHz

    Meanwhile, mine's just 3000mhz :(

Hardware Unboxed did a great video on it yesterday.

TLDR - Stick with DDR4 3200 to 4000. Dont buy DDR5 unless you have deep pockets. Money can be spent elsewhere for better gains.

    • Solid video with some questions to be asked given some data is missing, but the forward compatibility offered by Intel right now is too tough to ignore for those who are trying to make a build last 4-6 years, but yeah DDR5 is not outstanding right now for gaming or low latency applications.

Prices should drop quickly enough though, but it's a tough call for those buying in the first half of this year. AMD will also drop Zen 4 and DDR5 boards in or just before Q4.

  • DDR5 only for Intel systems? just noticing DDR5 ram existed, funny thought my AMD 3950x PC system had DDR5

So does AMD have motherboards utilising DDR5 ram as yet?

    • AMD's new AM5 platform will have DDR5 and PCIe5 so for the time being they're on DDR4.
