My local store had it in stock but at $99. I then changed the store - scrolled down the list until I found one which wasn't read (ie green or yellow - those with stock) and clicked on a few until you find one showing it at $49. Then you can select the option to have it sent to you for $10.

  • Ahh thanks for sharing! Was looking for a fan to help air out the bathroom after showering.

Secured click and collect in Caringbah (NSW).

same here…. visited Kirawee, but they were OOS even though the website said they were in stock.

  • I paid $35 for second hand 1.5Ah batteries last year, much better deal.

    • The 1.5Ah were $39 brand new a few weeks ago, how much were they when you bought a used one?

  • Thank you Op. Just bought from Leopold Victoria store via click and collect. Payment has gone through and order confirmed. Dont know how many left. Seems about last place in Vic to have them.

  • Thanks OP, got 2 and only a few left in store.

  • My order got cancelled by Bunnings

    • +1

Not surprised, this is being ozBargained faster than their stock system can update the website.

Oxenford Qld has abount 20 on shelf still 49

  • +1

Thankfully no stock nearby, or I'd end up buying it for all the wrong reasons.

  • Online order details still say "Order Taken" not looking good for a successful click and collect at this stage :(

  • +1

Just picked mine up. Love it, especially the clip. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Just had a call, they cancelled my order.
    I asked why
The guy just said, "it's been cancelled'

    Joy

  • Looks to be expired now

    • +2

      You ain't getting 1, let alone 5 :).

      • -1

Lol. Can decide to return later. Having said that I'm getting 10ah battery in total though 😂

        • True that. I wish you the best of luck…. I honestly hope you get them. (but you wont :))

          • -1

@UFO: Thank u. Already got confirmation "ready to pick up" 😄

            • @Martin21: You in QLD? Seems to be the lucky State going by the comments above.

    "portable cooling"

    What a joke!

Such a tiny fan would make a lot of noise but do nothing to cool you down.

Controlling airflow in a room requires a larger fan that can push volumes of air. Using this Ryobi thing for "cooling" is worse than using a hairdryer for heating. At least with the hairdryer it does produce heat.

    • I use a USB fan all the time and it's quite good. This one looks larger

      • -5

        it's quite good

        Good for what?

Not for cooling, because science says no.

If you're sweating, it's too late… you're already too hot. A breeze on your skin will assist evaporation of sweat which removes heat. But a small fan will not do much even in that regard.

        • I have it on now at my desk. When it's on I get cooler, when it's off I need to run the air con. Not sure what else to say, it does most certainly work.

          • -5

            @MikeKulls:

when it's off I need to run the air con

Stop the press! "USB fan replaces need for air con!". LOL good one! Gave me a laugh, thanks.

            • +1

@cerealJay: Wow, you're really not that quick on the uptake and looking for a fight. It obviously doesn't always replace the aircon but I find it does quite a lot of the time. Surely that was obvious even to you.

        • BTW, I love the way you say science says no and then explain how science say it will work. :-)

        • +2

          because science says no

Link to published, peer-approved papers please

  • Wow, came back into stock at my local Bunnings, grabbed one. Thanks OP

    • Bigger, cancelled order

  • Might be worth a trip to your local even if it says out of stock. I went to one of the two in my town, didn't have them at the first and they said none at the second, however there were some at the second (three of them).

    • Same, It was showing in stock at my local store so I popped down to collect one. When I arrived at the store it was showing out of stock, but there were still 6 remaining after my purchase. I possibly got someone's C&C order. Sorry!

  • Bendigo and Epsom in VIC has lots of them. Just bought one in Bendigo !

  • +4

Just picked mine up from Alexandria NSW and the counter guy asked where everyone knew about this as he had like 25 orders in 5mins this morning.
All stock was taken off shelf to fulfill the online orders.
I told him to bookmark Ozbargain for future reference.

    Order cancelled - lame

  • Bought from Bunnings Gladesville. Website showing $49 and out of stock, however there were a few on a shelf as you walk straight in. They were sitting next to the Ryobi Rotary Kits from the last deal, neither had price labels.

    • WHAT?! I went there at 9am and they had no stock.
Wanna grab me one and I’ll give you cash? ;)

      • Haha, I went during my lunch break, about 1:30pm. Go now!

    • Went back to get one for my mother in law this morning, they were either sold out or taken off the shelf. Interestingly, the Rotary Kits are showing the clearance price on a label now.

  • Order was cancelled

  • PERTH:

    Midland has 1
    Balcatta has 4
    Accurate 1 hour ago

    • How did you get this information?

      • +1

Went to my local store, asked at tool desk.

Was told 4 balcatta, 2 midland

Went to midland, saw 2. Bought one.

        • +1

          balcatta has none.

          • @mmd: ah nuts, someone must have cleaned them out in that time, or bunnings was inaccurate tho to be fair midland had 2 and i saw 2

was prob a family of 4 who wants to keep themselves cool on their next summer camp trip

            • @yahms: Yeh it was abit annoying but oh well.
Interestingly i called midland around lunchtime yesterday, and the dude said they had none which is not true.

    • Plenty still at Mindarie and Joondalup. Checked in store this morning and they were showing around 6 each.

  • Already people are trying to sell the charger

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/465796335027555/?r…

  • Got one from Mornington C&C. Thanks.

  • I see the Bunnings door greeters using this..

  • -1

Bought one, sold my charger for $20 one hour later. Bargain

  • -1

Bought one, sold my charger for $20 one hour later. Bargain

  • Not only that. I had so many people wanting the charger I sold another spare one as well. I had no idea people would want these chargers.

  • Order cancelled.

  • I'm not a big fan of Ryobi, but Bunnings does have a large fan base.

    • SOMEONE can't take a joke.

  • Just remembered I need something for my treadmill because my inbuilt fan is playing up. I prob should have got this bugger

  • +1

    Grabbed one cheers

  • Has anyone used it yet?

    • yes, yesterday I used for over 10 mins. Pretty cool.I like the clip design. You can hand hold it /clip it to an edge/stand it on a table. I have three batteries at home so didn't try the battery in the box.

      • Do you think the clip is strong enough to hold onto a treadmill with someone running on it?

        • likely

        • +1

Mate, you’re going to bust your fan if you try running on it.
          I’ll show myself out…

  • Back to normal retail price today $99

  • +2

Click and Collect GC Nerang this morning at 5am and order ready for collection at 6:30

Still had stock on the floor so I grabbed another one.

No idea why orders are being cancelled when its not a pricing error and is an advertised price.

  • Caloundra, QLD store has four left on display still. I saw a few sitting on the click and collect shelf ready for pickup.

  • Late to the party, but just a note on these. My mate and I compared his Ryobi to our Makita (e.g. this skin for $150). We camp together, and they loved how our Makita made inside & covered areas significantly more liveable in summer camping.

I know they're apples and oranges, but the major beef they had with the Ryobi was that it doesn't oscillate. That significantly reduced its ability to make an area 'breezy', unless you were the one sitting in front of the fan. Having compared them, I wouldn't buy the Ryobi unless a cheap 2ah battery is your thing.

Anybody found otherwise, or that Ryobi has added this feature now?

    • +3

You could have bought three ryobis with batteries and covered a similar area as to the single oscillating makita and had change for a sausage…

Edit- because my jokes blow at the moment, that’s a joke.

  • Ordered from Bayswater, VIC for $49. Hopefully this thing clamps onto my golf cart!

    • Click & Collect? How? I'm not seeing any stock anywhere in Victoria.

  • Just bought one from Bayswater VIC. About 10 left on the shelf. Just inside the entry to the tool shop dead ahead you cant miss them.

  • Cancelled at underwood. None in store either.

  • Underwood guys say there’s 5 but don’t bother as they would be sold. Or on trucks in coming days.
Mine was cancelled and 2 hours ago there was non available at underwood. Now the system has refunded my click and collect - it says they are in store again. But the guys have no idea where. Grrrrrr

    • +1

Yeah my Underwood order got cancelled as well, Lady I spoke to had a sightly different story but I was happy to wait on the phone to get a the full story.

  • Fair warning my order was just cancelled, Lady I spoke to at Bunnings said there is no stock in QLD and no planned delivers from the supplier even though still says stock on their website.

    • It’s more than likely a deleted line, hence the large discount.

  • +1

Ordered around noon, order cancelled shortly afterwards. Ordered again, different store, order ready for pickup. Lucky. Both stores showed “low stock”

  • +5

For those of you who just purchased the fan kit can register your three tools at www.ryobi.com.au/register.

You need to create an account first. If you have an existing account then use that to add your fan kit.

The battery & the charger unit gives you 3 years standard warranty. The fan unit gives you 4 years standard warranty + 2 years extended warranty (only if you register online).
Not bad for a total of 6 years for the fan unit.

    Hope it helps. :-)

  • Looks like somebody at eBay is making an easy dime out of Bunnings sale price. Buy large quantities at Bunnings & resell them at eBay for $99. Current eBay stock shows 15 available & 4 sold in the last 48 hours.

Bunnings price of $49 + $10 shipping is cheaper though.

    • You gotta be careful on eBay like that - I've seen quite a few things that are from Bunnings, that are more expensive on eBay (more than double, in some cases). I guess they bet on eBay addicts, or those who don't look around before buying (whether from laziness, or just inexperience).

Saying that, I question the "x sold" on eBay - whose to say the seller didn't buy their own, and refund it back… I dunno if that could work, but it might be a way.

  • Can't seem to get it with $10 delivery anymore?

  • Found 2 so ordered them with delivery

  • How'd you get it delivered?

  • +2

I love this lil guy! Our toilet didn't have a fan….until now

  • is it big/powerful enough to use as a desk fan?

    • +1

If you are using it on a daily basis as a desk fan, you will kill the battery very soon.

Not only you would have to keep on plugging and unplugging for battery charging, but it would also only last for about 7 hours on a low setting with a 2.0Ah battery is fitted.

You could easily get a desktop mini fan for under $40 anyway online.

    • +1

Whatever the answer is, there is nowhere to buy now.

  • -8

So not suitable as a desk fan or in a small enclosed area like a tent. Its quite loud and my ears actually feel relieved after I switch it off. Not worth damaging my hearing over $49.

Airflow is quite direct and it doesn't move air around the room as well as my $10 kmart desk fan. But has worked great for blowing fumes and dust away from my face at the workbench. Gave me great comfort when mowing the lawn, and when I worked on my engine in the midday sun. I can see why it's been discontinued, it's got its uses but it's not as versatile as I thought it'd be.

    • +3

sounds like the biggest exaggeration of this century. Hearing damage from this fan? If that was the case, please steer clear of any earphone/headphones because you will likely do 5x the damage to your hearing.
