  • Aldi special coming up I guess!

    • Aldi 4.0 are $49.99 ATM

      • are the aldi batteries compatible with the ozito pxc range?

        • +2

no but when Aldi run a power tool special Bunnings tend to price match with Ozito

        • They are if you're happy to buy an adapter off a guy on Gumtree or you have a 3d printer and a little bit of electrical know how.

  • +1

I bought @ $100. Bunnings staff said this was a seasonal item and the last of the stock was on the shelf.

  • Any sale in NSW?

    • I got it for this price at Lidcombe last week, 'seasonal' discount

      • Can you scan a receipt?

  • It is out of stock around my area.
Maybe there is some, but nothing around my area.

  • +2

Item number 0290057 if you want to hunt it down. None near me unfortunately

    • Doesnt show up on their website, is it supposed to?

      • If you have the Powerpass app, it comes up when searching for the item number.

Out of stock at Crossroads NSW and surrounding stores, for what it's worth.

        • No i dont, you need to be a trady to have that dont you?

          • @billdsl: Having an ABN is sufficient.

            • @bio: There ya go, NO ABN FOR ME, COME BACK……

        • +1

If it's not too much trouble, could you please check the postcode 2250 and let me know if any stores around here have stock? Thanks :)

          • +2

@OlBoozeroony: West Gosford and surrounding are all showing out of stock.

            • @Steempy: Is there anywhere in Sydney still showing stock?

              • @OlBoozeroony: Not that I've been able to find. The app shows you stock for your selected store and the four closest. I've done a few searches, selecting a few locations spread around Sydney. Potentially some stores missed, but not looking promising.

                • @Steempy: Thanks for taking the time to do that. I have the other bunnings stock finder app but it doesn't seem to show discontinued stock

      • Use the PowerPass app if you have an account.

        • I buy gear online sometimes, but thats not sufficient is it? Ima do some reading

          • +1

@billdsl: just remember no warranty if bought with powerpass as the tool is DIY only. powerpass is 'trade' only

            • +1

@Doobies: Is that even allowed with consumer laws?
I have returned used ozito products with no issue before purchased with powerpass maybe it differs by who you get at the counter

              • @bdroid: might be 12 month warranty now that I think about it.

            • @Doobies: This has been brought up multiple times, not true but some staff will try it on.
At some point someone got confirmation from an Ozito rep that warranty still applies regardless.

Pretty good deal as normally one set of 4.0+charger is 99. So this is less than 1/2 price.

    • +1

Just that when I'm using garden tools (esp if 2x18v), I often prefer the lighter 2Ah batteries.

      • Bigger battery better power generally.

  • Wow decent. As good as you'll get to the deals of old when the 4Ah batteries were $30-40.
(not that I need to buy anymore lol …)

  • +1

Might be national as showing $80 in Powerpass app but no stock at the 5 stores nearest to me.

  • Anyone know what cells are in these?

    • +1

      10 x 18650 cells, in 2p5s configuration

      • Looks like generic 10 X 18650 2000mAh 3.7V MH46259 S122E based on a previous post on here, Apparently the Aldi batteries have genuine Samsung cells so might hold out for them.

        • 3 year warranty though on the bunning ones - if you were not planning to shuck them.

        • Can aldi ones be shucked?

          • +1

@mmd: any battery pack can in theory be shucked - but the 18650s contained within are going to be spot welded to strips of nickel plate that you need to somewhat carefully detach from the batteries using pliers.

The 18v 1.5h pack with this drill for example will contain 5 x 18650 batteries in series (5x3.7~=18v) - each battery with a pretty terrible output of just 1500 mAh
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/680530

To get the 4.0Ah battery packs.. they are using slightly better cells at 2000mAh and running pairs of batteries in parallel (to get 4000mAh at 3.7v) - and then using the 5 pairs in series to get the 18v.

18v 5aH battery pack in the sam3 profile would likely be using 2500mAH batteries in the 2p5s configuration.

            • @mshanann: cheers I'll look for the 5aH pack for my torches.

Leftover stock from this deal, I imagine
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667196

  • No way of checking stock without calling..?

  • Keep your workbenches clear with our handy Wall Mounting Template(ozito.com.au)

…then get a couple of these printed, to wall mount near the chargers.
    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2456578

    • Are there any companies (or individuals) that 3D print stuff for other people? For $ of course.

  • Great price considering I thought 2x the Black 4.0 ones for $96 was good a few weeks ago.

  • Do they publish discharge cut off voltage level and max continuous discharge current rating for these anywhere?

Wondering if I could wire a couple of these in series using 3d printed breakout connectors to bring back to life a 365 scooter
    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2966117

    • Powertools cells are most capable at high current delivery so it will work okay for your scooter.

  • I check for ozito battery specials every week, and sometimes Im in a few times a week, never seen anything like this :-(

In terms of stock check … go to bunnings website, set your store…
then open web inspector network view and query an item like …

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-2-0ah-and-4-0ah-li…

you should see an XHR similar to ….

    https://api.prod.bunnings.com.au/v1/products/6290576/fulfill…

copy that XHR as a curl request and tweak/synthesize as follows …

… (where 8057 is the store - e.g. keperra, and 0290057 is the product code)

    curl 'https://api.prod.bunnings.com.au/v1/products/0290057/fulfillment/8057/radius/100000?isToggled=true' \
    -X 'GET' \
    -H 'Accept: application/json, text/plain, /' \
    -H 'Authorization: Bearer XXXXXX' \
    -H 'Referer: https://www.bunnings.com.au/' \
    -H 'clientId: ZZZZZZZ \

    -H 'X-region: QLDMetro' \
    -H 'country: AU' \
    -H 'currency: AUD' \
    -H 'locationCode: 8057' —include —output -

you will get output like …

copy that XHR as a curl request and tweak/synthesize as follows …

      Ya lost me…

    • Thanks for sharing, this is interesting. But is this just retrieving data from the same source as the website (vs a more up to date one that the PowerPass app uses)?

  • +1

This was a $99 promo kit from last month https://au-catalogues.com/bunnings-warehouse-specials/catalo…

  • Sold out at Hoppers Crossing.

    • thanks for the update

    • Bought one in hoppers today morning. 3 left as I remember.

About 8 packs left at Bunnings Alexandria NSW

    • Does anyone know if any are left at Alexandria?

      • I went past Alexandria and they were out of stock, but can confirm they were $39.95 on the staff member's screen. An absolute steal if anyone can manage to find one anywhere. If anyone comes across any store in Sydney with them please let me know

  • Not sure now but they told 2 hours before that 6 packs at Dural

  • +1

What's the best battery to collect? This or eneloops?

  • These are now showing as $39.95 in PowerPass - but stock that was available last night has disappeared.

    • -1

      Showing 39.95 nationally ?

      • -1

Whats the product code you are feeing into powerpass, cant find a result using the code 0290057

  • None at Parafield, Munnopara and Gawler :/

  • Any in South Australia at all?

  • There's still about 10 of these at Balcatta WA if anyone is chasing them. No luck on the sub $40 price but still good value at $80

  • Anyone can check Brisbane for me?
