I was looking for a more powerful blower and came across this deal for an EGO LB6500 blower skin, handy if you've already bought into the ecosystem & need a blower or just want to upgrade your existing one.

The price has been fluctuating a bit but still cheaper than other places:
Total Tools ($349): https://www.totaltools.com.au/176967-ego-power-56v-brushless…
Sydney Tools ($349): https://sydneytools.com.au/product/ego-lb6500e-56v-50ah-lith…

No Aust warranty, just note that.

How do you know? Will EGO only offer a warranty if you purchase from approved retailers?

      • I believe @TreeHugger is correct. You'll only get the standard 1-year Amazon warranty unless you purchase from an authorised seller.

      • They are grey imports so warranty is through Amazon, not Ego Australia.

Amazon are likely to tell you to GGF after 1 year let alone 5.

Its worth it for some tools because they are so much cheaper, this blower is borderline. I got the multitool edger kit off Amazon which was a no brainer at $208. (vs circa $500 locally).

        • I'm still kicking myself that I didn't jump on the edger kit at $230. How is it?

          • @Elyxar: My edges have never looked better.

But the other tool heads are really expensive and never go on sale. I ended up having to buy a whole new kit with polesaw and hedger heads included because it was way better value than just buying heads.

So now I can dual wield my multitools.

        • That's a phenomenal deal!

    • Will be OK with Amazon.. I got mine through Total tools.. it has stopped working after less than 3 months.. TT has taken it for repair? they have had it for a couple of weeks now was told 4-6 weeks :-(

Sorry, but how can you be sure that the Aliexpress ones are made in the same factory?

Because I bought 2 from this seller and opened the up too check the brand of 18650 cells n it was identical down too stickers used by ego. On the outside ego name was blacked out with black electrical tape, easily peeled off.

          • @Wayne7497: Surely not, black tape?

@Wayne7497: Are there any links you could give us for further info on this, like teardowns etc?

@Wayne7497: I was interested in this also. Not sure if this guy is selling mixed batteries or v good at replicating the originals. Some reviews seem to believe the contrary.

Mentions he can include stickers if required: https://imgur.com/a/YziHsia

Claims DXT Store passing 2ah as 6ah batteries: https://youtu.be/ea5mX9nGFFk. Though does say the batteries last longer.

      • Ha had no idea about this. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I have a lot of Ozito batteries so was looking for a blower, came across a few comments here recommending the Ozito Jet, holy moly, this thing blows!

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-x-2-brushless-jet-…

    Highly recommend it.

Bought this at $30, near enough the best bargain I've got from this site.

  • Is it me or it has gone back up to $377?

    • Price has gone up.

    • Seems to be OOS

  • I think someone in ozb uses this to dry his/her car before

    • Or to blow himself

    • It's perfect for getting the water out of the little bits of trim, grill and mirrors on a car…..I guess you could do the whole car if you really wanted to.

      • Its much quicker than vacuuming the inside of the car too.

        • Great for cleaning inside the house too ;)

    • yup, im a car guy with a black car. def need a blower to avoid water streaks!

    Neighbours will love this

    • I've got this blower and it's nowhere near as noisy as some of them, so yes you're right……the neighbours will love it.

    • WOOW!

    • +1

I loved mine until it broke… cleaning up around the house would take nearly 2 hours with rack and broom.. the blower get the lot done in 15 minutes.. and is a lot quieter than a petrol one.

    • I actually have a feeling these on low are quieter than a thick broom on concrete

Now I need to find my broom and dB meter and go have a play

  • +1

For an extra ~$150 wouldn't you be better off getting the "lesser" blower with two batteries?
