This legit or will my Chicken Coop address be sold to some random?

    • A friend of mine confirms based on their experience that this is legit.

  • +4

Welp, guess this is about to be ozbargained.

7PM in the post refers to QLD time so it’ll be 8PM AEDST

    • its already ozbargained

  • +14

Big props to Lloyds for this. They did freebies for hand sanitiser back during the day too. Cheers for sharing. I just genuinely hope that OzBargainers who don't need them leave them there for those who do.

    • Who doesn't need these?

      • -3

        Pensioners

        • -8

          And the dole bludgers

          • +4

@tabboo: You're typical "dole bludgers" (to use your stereotype) aren't ones to be browsing OzB, I imagine.

  • Can confirm, account required.

  • +1

Are hundreds of peeps going to be trying to (free) bid on a RAT test every 30-60 secs as the lots come online?

  • +2

Is it just me who click on Buy tests, getting this browser message?

A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (:).
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (:).

  • +24

I paid for RAT tests so leave this to those who can’t afford.

    • +9

      Not all heroes wear capes

    • tax deductible -correct?

  • +1

    This is marketing 101

  • +9

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Lloyd’s regularly auction off fake/counterfeit/dishonestly described product (coins, goods, cars). And they know it darn well - but will pretend like they don’t. Pretty scummy place.

    • +9

LOL at the donkeys negging you. I was literally this morning talking to a watchmaker about the riskiest place to buy watches online and he said "Lloyd's auction house, because they sell a heap of fakes. I get people coming in all the time wanting me to authenticate fake watches they've bought from Lloyds."

    • +1

How different is it to eBay, Gumtree, and FB marketplace?

      • +3

Pretty much just as risky as Gumtree and FB Marketplace except they’re a registered business that charge a huge “buyer’s premium” for everything auctioned there. So you’re basically paying an organized scammer more money.

Ebay is miles better because it protects consumers (customer support, escalation, PayPal protection). For Lloyd’s they’ll literally flip you off if you complain about a fake item or something. Because what are you gonna do? Apparently writing “auctioned items are as is” protects them from even selling blatantly fake stuff, and most customers will just take the loss rather than fight it.

    • +4

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

      • +1

Hopefully he didn’t get those Civics from Lloyd’s auto auction because they ain’t gonna run ;)

  • -1

Lots of auction lots just says no online bidding and can't even get it? Any geniuses work how?

    • +1

      Wait until 7pm QLD time.

    • +1

Imagine this being the bar you've set for someone to be a genius

      • +1

Imagine being so daft you took it literally

        • +2

I mean everything is on the table when someone can't work out how time works

  • +2

So sad, RAT tests should be free look at us trying to get one from an auction site who will most likely bid off our deets.

    • +1

      deets

      Hopefully no mosquito repellant involved….

    • +3

It ain't good to be running around with untreated herpes

      • -6

I’m over it. Let’s move on. IM DONE

        • +6

          IM DONE

          What makes you so special

        • +5

          IM DONE

          Hi Done, I’m Novak.

        • Darn. Just when I've run out of negs…

  • anyone know the manufacture of these tests?

  • -1

Lloyd is going to sell your house

  • how do you actually order them? Can't find any way to

    • You gotta bid on one of his clocks first

  • Maybe they can go ahead and refund me the $200 from March last year that they owe me because they sold an item I won before I collected it on the agreed date.

    (profanity) Lloyd’s.

    • +2

Why don't you sue them? It's pretty easy, just go to one of the CATs, eg QCAT, NCAT, VCAT

  • Did this break their internet? The page is giving me an error

  • -2

    Got one, thanks.

  • -1

Also free in Tassie for anyone from the government.

    • -1

But I haven’t paid for this one with my tax

      • -1

Good to know my tax is being used properly. Thank you.

  • -1

    Thanks OP, Grabbed one

  • -1

    Thanks got one.

  • So its still an auction, if someone bids on it before you they win the auction lot….#frustrating

Oh wait you have to find a lot that hasnt been bid on to get the stock item

Got one, but took a while to work out!.

  • Thanks got one already

  • Cheers OP, got one in lot 49.

  • Ah they went early. Got one

Lot 56. About 4 mins early

  • 100 lots nearly sold out

  • +4

Random scrolled down the page, picked one happened to be lot 69 and still available. Bought it. NICE

    • haha

    • +1

      Giggidy

    • nice

  • +3

    Thanks got one.

For anyone that's looking to get one (or more) of these and put them on eBay or Facebook Marketplace you should be ashamed of yourselves, this listing should be reserved for those that need them for work, education or personal reasons.

    • Someone tell schomo. Its everyone for themselves. Look at small pharmacies selling them for $20.

  • +2

I thought it went live at 7 pm? Did they start early?

    • Slightly early it looks like

    • Looks that way. Disappointing. Hope all who got one needed them. Will try again tomorrow.

  • +1

    Yeah I’m lost!

  • +2

Not sure if it's necessary, but it asks you to confirm the order here https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/PurchaseList.aspx

Once I did that I got an invoice for it.

    • I received an invoice without confirming? Unless I blindly clicked through?

I think there was a confirmation/check-out page after the bid.

      • +1

Ah right thanks, possibly I missed confirming it after the bid.

  • Oh well looks like all sold out for me - thanks anyway OP and props to Lloyds for trying

  • oh gone in a minute…

  • -1

Hopefully they actually detect Omicron lol

  • +2

Actually, you can try to catch every 10am, 2pm, 7pm in qld time

    • Did you recieve a confirmation email for yesterday's RATs or do you think we'll get one once it ships?

      • No email confirmation either, not sure how it works.

  • Next release is at 2pm QLD time / 3pm AEDT. The dlink has been updated to the new lot.

They'll probably be available 5-10 mins earlier though, going by previous lots.

    • -1

Are we allowed to get another one? Is there a limit

      • I think it would be fine, if I understand what they write correctly:

Limits apply 1 per customer per Auction. We have three campaigns per day with Free Tests

  • how do you even order these

    • I'm not 100% sure, but you have to register for bidding for the tests first before trying to win the lottery

      • yep got one thanks. there was a glitch for the first few lots

  • +2

Available now, seems like they messed something up before.

  • Just got one - thanks OP

  • +3

The Federal Government if Australia is a literal joke that this bargain exists

  • As predicted. These have become effectively worthless.

    • One business doing a limited giveaway as a promotional thing doesn't mean they're worthless. They're still selling for more than they were selling for in December all over the place.

  • all out already.

  • +1

I am feeling sorry for people who overpaid for presale RATs. Woolworths stores are getting tons in the coming weeks. Packs of over 2 tests will be selling for $10 per test apparently.

    7pm QLD / 8pm AEDT link.

  • +1

Seems to have the closing issue again, keep refreshing, will probably work shortly.

  • I was going to say the lots keep closing before the timer hits zero
