Was only able to find the deal In the NSW catalogue, not the VIC one. I guess We’ll find out on Wednesday if they're on sale in-store.

So are you telling me I have my mountain of cards for nothing ?

      • -2

For those that are concerned for me . I had a couple hr talk with a SYD contact and all is fine now :)

  • +3

Not in Qld catalogue - Not happy Jan!

    • +3

      Not in Tassie catalogue either
Good thing looking at the reviews,
Hate to miss out on a saving but flap me - Those reviews!

  • +1

Load in Sniip and pay your bills with these? 0.5% charge.

    • Interested to know as well

  • $250 cards already OOS at my local Coles before the promo starts 😂

    • +1

I am pretty sure there'll be new delivery for each store as my local is fully stocked if not overstocked today. No $250 at all yesterday. If it happened to one, it'll happen to other locations.

The deal has changed to for NSW/ACT only, though.

    • Check freezer and non moving item racks… lol

  • +1

They had quiet a bit in a QLD store, though QLD not a part of it.

    • +1

      what a pity

    • +1

On a postive note you can sleep in tomorrow. No need to join the rush at 7am.

      • That is true, won’t have to wake up as early, which is a good thing.

  • +3

Got my cards with approved receipt at 6:05 am. still waiting for actual card activation. on vanilla balance site still saying "Please activate your card to proceed". sigh.

    • Same very sad.

System's probably swamped and being slow for whatever reason. Same thing happened with the Coles MC cards, at one point it was taking over 8 hours to activate.

      • Could be why it's restricted to NSW/ACT. Maybe they realised their activation system is pretty flaky…

        • Then why start with the most populous state?

          • @capslock: Test case? Have to start somewhere I guess.

          • @capslock: Better returns, more available stock already in circulation to sell, test the system.
My bet is excess stock, all coles got a massive shipment of these cards in the lead up to Christmas.

    • -1

Called them up and they said to email them with your
      [email protected]

      Address:
      Mobile:
      Card number(starts with 637):

That what I mean about this place motor mouths ringing up the target .
The info available from the last deal with the slow activation !

      • I am informed that it is [email protected]. A tedious process, if you check your balance and if it comes up with the message that the card needs to be activated.

        • So they are not active once purchased?
Are you saying you have to contact them to activate every card?

          • +2

@gnarlyman: The process should be automated upon payment, but just like the Only1 visa cards, automated activation can take up to 24 hours as stated on the card. Majority of the time it is instant or almost instant but during times of high demand the system for whatever reason might be delayed (as seen in previous Coles MC promotions and Only1 visas back when they were reasonably profitable).

          • @gnarlyman: Checked the Balance online for one card and it came up with a message around the card not activated. Called up the number on the card and I was informed to have the details emailed to this ID to get the card activated. Not checked the other cards yet. A painful process, but makes it possibly safe to dispute in case it gets hacked.

Anyone tested if working in VIC?

    • If it works in Vic you will get slow notification .
      If not fast .
My game plan is on not but 5 X Xmas bonus time if it does :)

  • +7

    Confirmed not discounted in QLD

    • Can also confirm. Sigh.

    • so sad

    • thank you for checking!

  • Went to Wentworth Point Coles around 7:15am and saw a full box of $250 at front desk. Asked staff member if I can purchase it, and they said it's already reserved by a large group of family. This is ridiculous! There was a full box of $250 right in front of me and I couldn't purchase it. There's limit of 5 cards per person. How many family did they have?

    • +2

U need to complain to manager/head office

      • Yeah now I know. Too bad I left with empty handed…

    • you should stand there and ring Coles head office number

    • Seems someone did a good play hehe :)
That I would say is the common Insider Staff play .

    • +2

The story staff told you sounds fake.

      • +1

Store staff is part of the syndicate.

        • +4

I think the staff member neglected to mention it was reserved for their family.

          Allegedly.

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Your on the right track hehe :)
Still key to the play is Insider Staff action .

    • +1

      Bullshit!

    • leave a google review

      • Do Coles care about Google reviews?

        • I dont know or care, but this rort deserves to be exposed

  • saw some $400 ones, are they on sales too?

    • +1

No, otherwise they'd be empty as well.

      • thanks, $30ish per card would be nice lol

  • $7.5 for $250

  • 10% applied to activation fee too, $7.5 on $250 card down to $6.75 as posted by op

  • can we pay Prime Membership with this? have a feeling they gonna up subscription like what just happened in USA

  • Any updates in SA???? Has anyone tried yet???

    • Scanned one, show full price. Returned!

  • Anyone tried at Coles in Victoria?

    • +3

Scanned at the full price :(

      • Thank you. Plan to go during lunch break. No need anymore.

      • Thought was applicable for VIC also, thankfully I came to check before heading out!

  • +1

It says activated within 24 hours of purchase… Why does it take so long…

    • I dunno.

It could be worse; I bought Westfield EFTPOS gift cards from Woolworths on Friday night, and all were not activated until the following Monday morning!

  • The ones I bought this morning at around 8AM were active at 1PM.

    • so the balance was displayed upon activation ?
i see the below error message now

      Following are the error(s)

      1. Please activate your card to proceed

      • +1

Bought around 1 pm and activated now.
I'm hoping to pay tax bill at Australia Post.

    • Did you check the balance before 1PM at all? If you did, did you get any error messages (I assumed if you did they went away after 1PM automatically)?

      • Yes I checked it a few times. My second and third lot of cards were bought at around 1:30PM and were active when I checked them at around 7:30PM.

      • I bought at 7pm and they were activated by 7am.

  • Could I buy Westfield gift card from concierge using this vanilla gift card?

  • +1

Are these not popular? I've been to two Coles and they were both stacked with $250 and$100 cards…

    • Still early in the sale cycle, and not yet after 5pm.

    • +1

May not be there when you come back.

    • Which store?

  • In store, can you use this card with tap and pay transaction or only the old school way of swiping the card? If it is the latter, do you select credit or savings? Thank you.

    • Old school swipe, if it doesn't automatically select credit, you select credit.

    • Credit

  • +3

Quite surprising that the card works to buy Woolworths egift cards @ 4% off

    • +2

Not working directly @ Prezzee, though. Try Paypal later.

Update: Vanilla worked in Paypal to purchase eGC @ Prezzee.

    • Did you actually receive the gift cards?

When someone asked Woolworths Group back in October 2021, they were apparently told that if a prepaid gift card was used as a payment method on the Woolworths Group gift card portal, the order would be cancelled and you’d be issued a refund.

To be fair, I was personally told over the phone that being able to use a prepaid gift card to purchase a (discounted) Woolworths Group gift card would be the exception, rather than the rule. Maybe you found the exception?

      • +1

Yea I got the GC and added it to the money app…

I previously tried with the Coles prepaid GC and AUSPOST prepaid GC and those automatically get rejected, so maybe these are a 'loophole'?

    • The 4% off how?
Are you using the Woolworths Mobile customer discount?
That means the website is NOT asking for the 3D secure PIN? Which if true, does not go along with my findings, I am always asked for the 3D PIN on that site, though I am using a different card to buy.

      • NRMA or Woolworths insurance. not sure about mobile

    • How soon did you receive the gift cards from woolworth portal?

      • 10 mins max

  • Anyone tried in WA?

    • +1

      no discount

    • +1

      just checked - full price.

  • If u attach the card to PayPal, does it mean no one can hack it?

    • +3

no. Your card details remains the same…

    • It only means you can use it @ Paypal acceptable websites without hassle.

  • +4

Just wanted to confirm that unlike the celebration mastercards, these work nicely with Woolworths gift card portal.
