  • just reading the refund policy, how to we know wether the phone / tablet size is correct or not with out opening the box?

    ensure that the Mobile Product for which they are seeking an exchange or refund is unused and in a re-sellable condition in Samsung’s reasonable opinion (including the packaging being un-opened, the seal intact and all in-box items, including warranty cards and user manuals, being in the box)

    • Do you mean if the size is the one that works for you? There are demo units on Samsung experience stores you can try them out there now.

        • yeah if theyre coming in slowly over the next few days in other retail stores and telco stores too. You can always give them a call to see if demo units are on display :)

  • Hi guys. I have a mint codition S8 plus and also another S8plus with a small crack on the screen corner…anyone who i want get if i trade them in for the s22 ultra?

    • Just download the trade up app and find out. But it won't be much for the mint s8. The cracked screen one won't be eligible.

              Risk of them taking back the $450 if you dont send the phone back. According to their t&c, there is only a penalty $60 + risk of $450 takeback if nothing is sent. Wrong thing, broken phone is okay. no admin fee either

  • Which case and in what order do people add it?

    I cannot for the life of me get the $200 off. BONUSCARE worked

    Anyone getting "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"?

    If I try the 1 number less based on my last 3 digits, it says "Correct"… But that's someone else's code

      • I had the same thing but only when I clicked to trade-in at the store. As soon as I selected online and went through everything again it works?

      I am getting the same error. And the worst part is Asurion has charged the hold fee to my credit card. Anyone know what to do?

      Yep, getting the same. Generated the code this morning and getting the error on retries all day.
      Word of warning - uninstalling the app and reinstalling deletes all trace of the code even after the credit hold. Write it down!
      Samsung help were of no assistance and told me to email [email protected], no reply as yet.

        Same thing happened to me, generated a code on my phone, was charged the amount that it's worth straight away by Asurion. Then tried to use the code on the Samsung website and got the error - "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" No reply to my email yet, and Samsung gave me an unavailable disconnected phone number to call Asurion directly haha

          Samsung continue to suggest that in-store option was selected, even with statement proof of the debit, and continue to fob off to Asurion email.
          They even suggest to try the app again and select online.. plug in my card details for another debit, no thanks.

  • my trade in id code is not working says invalid? used it two seconds after i got it?? so uh is something wrong here or

    • Someone might of used it. Its easy to guess but it's also case sensitive

    • No. Expired will say "expired" (eg. SA32C725) and used will say "already used" (Eg. SA32C736).
      Error is just an error

    all up got the 512gb uiltra for $1,284.50
    with a case, the free plus thingy.
    using trade in discount, the 200 discount, sign up 50 discount. and 20% off store. all stacks now with no issues.
    also I have a iphone 7 trade in is only 5 dollars lol. if i don't send it in do I lose the bonus trade in value and have to repay them?
    people are saying things been changed?
    if they take the 5 and the 60 fee i dont mind. but the 250 I care about.
    i can sell the iphone for 130

    • If you don't send in your trade in phone they will charge the value of the trade in* plus an administration fee of $60. However others on ozbargain have had varied experiences so this may not be consistent.

      *Note that the terms and conditions may potentially allow samsung to also charge any bonus trade in discount that was applied in addition to the trade in value. Not sure if this has ever actually happened in practice though per the experience of other ozb users but it's something to consider.

      The version of the terms and conditions that I have seen state:

      "Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.

      Device Non-Return Administration Fee means a $60 administration fee which will be charged by
      Asurion in addition to the Device Non-Return Fee."

      • $200 discount doesn't work any more. It was an error, Samsung fixed it. You just get $200 of accessories for free now.

  • Yesterday I placed the pre-order for S22 Ultra and traded in my existing device to get the trade in bonus. I forgot to add the BONUSCARE code to get the free 2 years Samsung Care+. I contacted Samsung and was told it can't be added once the order is placed. Only option is to cancel existing order and place a new order. Does anyone now what will happen to the trade-in charge that has been placed on my credit card? Will it be removed once my order is cancelled? I contacted Samsung to ask this, but they said send an email to Asurion to check, which I already did and waiting for their reply. Does anyone know or cancelled their orders in past that included trade-in?
    A bit reluctant to cancel the order given my past bad experience with Samsung in getting the refund. But don't want to lose the Care+ offer. Any help OZBs.

    • Worse case scenario they charged you the trade in amount on your credit card and you raise a dispute with your card provider to reverse the charge. Can take up to 12 weeks for most card providers.

      A lot of hassle though.

      • My guess is that they won’t charge me as they only send the email once the order is shipped. So if order is cancelled, they won’t charge and the block on credit card will be removed.

    • I am in the same boat, forgot to add the promo code. Contacted Samsung Chat but no luck there. I am almost certain if I cancelled the order and placed a new order, it wouldn't let me use the same Trade ID that I used on the original order. So probably just leave it as is and move on I guess.

  • I'm looking to purchase the S22 256gb Ultra which is shown on the JB listing as 12GB ram and Snapdragon however Samsung (via chat) are not able to confirm the specification as "Even us don't have that information."

    I'm hesitant on making the purchase to then finding out its a "lesser" product. Would anyone else have more concrete info regarding its specifications?

      I had the same confusion. I don't get why Samsung site doesn't specify clearly about the detailed specs. From the research and different threads, we are receiving Snapdragon this year. However, I haven't found any detailed information from Samsung directly. In addition, no buyers have received the device so far. Please let me know if you find the answer. Thanks

      • There is no information at Samsung website at the moment regarding

        Processor (either SD or Exynos)
        Dual Sim (either 1 SIM + 1 eSim, 2 SIM + 1 eSIM, or 2 SIM)

        It does tell you for Ultra it is 12gb RAM.

    They dont take my old s8+ (crack screen and back). does anyone know If i try the samsung trade up app again, lied about crack screen and dont send my phone back. Do i still get the $450 bonus? thank you.

  • It seems like the $200 accessory bonus is no longer there, as in you will need to add $200 worth of accessories to get it, it doesnt allow you to add a $30 case to get it

      • I was checking yesterday and the discount was applied to the phone so thats why it worked even tho the cart only has a $30 case. However, when I checked again today, it requires the full $200 or more accessories which is annoying

    • Hi. I've scoured the thread but maybe I've missed something, how are people getting the accessory bonus - is there a code? Or does it only apply to certain accessories? I added over $200 of accessories and there was no discount applied to the final total, aside from the 30% off cases. Thanks

    The bloody Trade-up app keeps saying 'Sorry, we are having a problem executing your request. Please try again.' and looping….. it's so frustrating!!!
    And I'm not seeing Samsung reps being helpful at all after talking to 3 of them.

    Finally got it working after removing and reinstalling the app. I was worried that doing so may stuff up the trade-up process in the app.
    I got 21U 256GB traded in for $650 + trade-in bonus $450 + used the BONUSCARE code. All in the Samsung official website.

    • Did you use the same credit card or do anything different?

      • In the earlier try, it errored out before I could put in the credit card info. I just uninstalled, reinstalled and went over the process and it finished till the end that time.

  • Do we need to enter credit card details in the Trade Up app for the code to work on the Samsung site? Will this prevent the "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" message?

      Based on my experience and others, no it won't prevent it. We've all entered our CC in the app, been given the code but then the Samsung site is failing.

    I don't have edu store and gov epp.
    I'm looking for the s22 ultra 256gb, how can I get the best price?
    Should I buy now or wait for a couple of months?
    Will I receive all the goodies if I buy it later or it's just for pre order?

      The goodies will be pre order only. If you really don't want to trade your phone you could do the trade in anyway on the normal Samsung store to get the trade in bonus, then take the rush of not sending your device in.

      The other option is to buy the cheapest eligible trade in phone you can from the FB market place or something and trade that.

      • What's the cheapest trade in phone at the moment and does it need to work? Seems not enough time left to try this now.

        • This deal is available until the start of March so you've got plenty of time. Yes it needs to work. I don't know what the cheapest eligible phone is. Maybe a S8?

      You have to make that call yourself. Read the T&C's. It says in there that they can charge the bonus back, but I've never heard of then actually doing it in the past. But who knows this time around?

        • It said they could charge you back the amount of discount you received at the checkout when you applied the trade id.

          Make your own call about what that means. I believe that statement is still there.

            • @Iamacheapo: They haven't before and I agree that they probably won't but people need to read the t&C and make their own call. The possibility exists.

    • I can tell you when I didn't send through my old phone to get Z-Flip 3, I was charged the trade in value only. I haven't yet seen the additional $60 to this very day.

      • Heard this time they put a hold in the CC for some amount. What was that?

        • If you're device is worth $200 they'll put a $200 press authorisation hold. If you don't send your device back they'll take the $200. It'll clear if they receive it in the same described condition.

          • @Iamacheapo: Fair enough if u dun get charged bonus. Any case some ppl didn't get charged even tho not returning devices hence the big charge for trade in? Is it got charged in trade up app or when purchasing?

  • been trying to call samsung for 3 days now to cancel my two orders, they just say to busy and hang up, i email and live chat, nothing. not sure what to do there.

      Call customer service and make it a support call and ask to be transferred to Sales. Thats how I got through them after trying to ask for definitive answer if Ultra is dual sim or not because at one page, it says Ultra only available in Single Sim.

      • I also applied for a refund on Friday and received a refund confirmation email, but I haven't received the refund amount on my credit card yet, did you get your refund?

        • I didnt apply for a refund. They answered my question that Ultra 512gb is dual sim. I was just advising Halvar how to get Sales people on call without being shoved to eternity.
