  • Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see the $100 cashback or the $25 dredit detailed on the website. Any help? Looks like a good deal on a nice phone though so I am interested.

You get $100 cashback from Buckscoop + $25 credit after

      • You joined Buckscoop
      • You use Buckscoop's link to go to Vodafone to make purchase
      • You use "25CREDIT" under Promo Code at checkout

Buckscoop (and StartHere) might not be always reliable and there's usually 2-3 months wait. $25 credit goes to your account I think. Not too sure whether you can use that code and claim back from Buckscoop/StartHere at the same time.

      • Yes you can.I just ordered this deal for myself…:D

        • but will the cashback be approved?

        • Should be OK. Used to use "SAVE10" and got my cashback as well

      • ahhh buckscoop, I guess that other sites name is well hidden by initials BC
i would call it BS, but thats just me

      • Yeah, don't go for this deal just cos of cashback, as Scotty said it's not always reliable.

They may cancel your cashback cos of $25 promo deal, who knows.

yes…cash back is working…i ask called Vodafone before i go for this deal…

    • But cashback is from BuckScoop, not Vodafone. They will not always know about their own affiliate programs.

  • I have one more month in my contract with vodafone. Is there a way to get this deal and keep my old number?
Edit: basically what i mean is to extend my contract with this deal and keep one (my old) phone number

    • With one more month, no. If you were out of contract then you can order it online and call them up (and argue with them logically) to get them to tack it to your account.

Vodafone will argue the deal is for new customers only, however logically you could have signed up, ported the number across - done, as a new customer and still benefit from the same deal.

    • i went to vodaphone a month ago asking to see if i can get an upgrade to my phone. The guy said i still have 6 month left on my 24 month contract. He told me that if i come back in two months time, he will cancel the last 4 month and sign me up to a brand new contract with a new phone of course.
So if you only have 1 month left, its worth a try to go in store and ask

  • Some info here on the $100 cashback:

"you can't upgrade your phone and keep your original number and get cashback too, unfortunately.. unless you are transferring from another provider."

"The first thing to understand is Cashback is not a guarantee .. but should be viewed as a bonus with your transaction"

  • It states on the site.

"Cashback is very often not available when you use a discount code with your purchase"

    1. Please be aware that many merchants will not honour cashback when a purchase has been made using a discount code. Some codes result in the cashback being attributed to another site/merchant. We are unable to pay you Buckscoop cashback in these cases. When we know of such cases, we do let you know. However, please be aware that merchants policies do change without warning.

I would say bs is a bonus not something you can assume and say is part of the deal. Just my personal opinion of the process

  • any thoughts on the actual phone itself?

  • Pretty sure BuckScoop and OzBargain both use DgmPro which is what i use also. It's the affiliate program for Australian companies including Vodafone.

    Vodafone offers the following:
    Mobile Phone Contract plan $100
SIM only 50% of first month cost
PrePaid phone <$100 40% of total phone cost
PrePaid phone $100+ 15% of total phone cost

    Bare in mind that;
All your sales will be tracked in dgmPro. It it takes around 2-4 weeks for each sale to get verified by Vodafone, and validated in dgmPro. Cancelled or fake orders will be deleted as they are non-commissionable.

So if you do want to go for the punt, delete all your cookies/cache and then click the link otherwise it might be a bit buggy the affiliate link.

    • Just to remind you;
This is an affiliate program which i'm sure buckscoop uses as it matches their deal.
I'm not sure if they are allowed to even do this (offer you the affiliate money)
      BEWARE!

      • Yes it is allowed — cashback sites have been doing this for ages. Both Buckscoop and StartHere/MoneyBackCo use this model, as well as large reward sites such as RewardsCentral. Buckscoop is backed by Quidco in UK, StartHere is independent in Australia and both of them have been doing this for the last 5+ years.

        • Thank you for the clarification :) though its odd that they get no profit from the $100 cash back, yet they got 5% for the prepaid handsets.

        • That's called "competition". Buckscoop used to give back ~75% of commission, but they got into some competition with MoneyBackCo (now StartHere) and have been adjusting cashback rate on some products.

Depending on the volume they generate, they might also be able to negotiate a better rate from Vodafone (via DGM). In that case I would have no idea…

  • The promo code seems to work for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well.

    • This code work with all Vodafone purchase

    • This code work with all Vodafone purchase

      • Didn't work for the galaxy note though, worked for the SGSII and Galaxy Nexus

  • Got my phone just now :D

    • sorry m8, just wondering, is it unlocked? or can you unlock for free ? Does it run on NEXTg?

How long ago did you order?

      Thanks m8!
