Good if want the phone and use the 300gb for your internet for $50 per month after phone cost

  • Hi op
Is it that the port out and port in has to be one month apart. Been a while and have not been tracking how it works lately.

    • gotta be gone for 30 days

      • Gotcha. Thanks

So I paid $1200-1250 for s22 Ultra 256 including free Samsung Care, using all the discounts that were available a few days ago.

Maybe this deal is worth it only if you use 300 gigs of data or popping it in a sim modem and using as your home internet.

    • -3

      Samsung Care not included

      • If you used the free coupon everyone used, it's free

        • not from JBHifi

          • @Rehmansayani: People K own what a few days ago meant, it was a scheme run by Samsung

Why is jb still like 1990s?

With everyone still worried about Covid , jb hands over the telephone handset and asks us to confirm to telstra our Id using same mouthpiece

    Jb needs some IT transformation

If it is just to increase foot traffic, certainly does not help

Take 30 min to 1 hr for each customer to sign up and the hygiene factor

    • +1

It probably has nothing to do with JB, and is a requirement enforced by Telstra to verify customer identification.

This whole port out port in nonsense is so annoying. Money is money so I don't know why they don't offer these deals to everyone

These stupid companies should reward loyalty, not punish for it

Minimum phone + plan cost only $2376 over 24 months

If someone can live with only 40 GB, it’s better to preorder with Telstra and get SamsungTab A & Bonus pack for less than $200 over 24 months.
    Device cost: $52.04
    Small Plan of 40GB: $55
    Monthly cost: $107.04
Total cost over 24 Months: $2568.96

There are no discount from preordering with Telstra apart from the bonus tablet. Its better off buying from Samsung via EDU or Corporate or JB Trade in

      • And still pay for the mobile plan?

  • You should still qualify for the free gift i think.

  • Is there an early termination fee?

Ranting here, but I was talking to a friend who is trying to save money, talking about reducing coffee purchases etc. Meanwhile they are spending $100 a month on a phone. I don't get how so many keep doing this. OZB people must be very rich to not care about money like that yet want the best deal haha

    • If you're using a phone and phone plan for business purposes, it's a tax deductible so long as you can prove it / have records.

It makes sense (for some people) to spend big on mobile phone plans and end up with way more monthly data than they actually need, because doing so gets them a nice flagship device.

    • This isn't a great deal, but when it was only a 12 month plan its not bad. It is $100 a month but you don't have the outright cost of a phone.

      • Samsung subscription is a good option as an alternate who doesn't want to spend outright. They still stack better than $99pm for 24 months

  • Hey all, I have a question. How does this show up on the Telstra phone bill? Work is willing to pay for my plan, but not the handset.

    • +1

The cost of the device is paid via gift card instore usually so there will be no phone component on your Telstra bill, just the plan. You're basically getting the phone outright from JB.

      • Thanks :)

  • Any deals on the Ultra

    • +2

I think I saw a sign at JB Hifi that says, for the same $99 plan above, you just pay $599 outright for the S22 Ultra, instead of $0 for the S22.

  • Does anyone know if this a port-in only deal?

The banner on the JB website says 'When you switch your number to Telstra' which seems to suggest it's for port-ins, as opposed to completely new connections?

I had a quick look but couldn't find any extra details to clarify

    • +1

In the past signing up for a new service would qualify for the deal so it should be fine but maybe give a call to double check.

This or the $0 $79pm 24mth 100GB Optus deal at Hardly Normal?
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung/galaxy-s-series

    • HN only offers 100GB, if you’re a small user and don’t really care about that Telstra coverage then yeh it’s worth it
