ozb100off

For the ozbargain community, thank you for the support all the way. I remember our very first post was 4 years ago here in OZ Bargain. As the first Australian E-Scooter brand we had been through many ups and downs. And we are proud and grateful to be where we are able to keep providing reliable scooters and after-sales for the community.

Here is a $100 off code exclusive for the OZB community on our Mearth S Series.
https://www.mearth.com.au/pages/s-series
We don't usually have discount on the S series, this offer is exclusively for the OZB and will expire in 2 days.
code: ozb100off

If you are after a super long range premium scooter.
(not exclusive to OZB but will also end soon and while stock last)

The RS Pro (with MAX 100km range) has $200 OFF right now.
https://www.mearth.com.au/pages/rs-pro-price-sale

And if you want the ultimate off road scooter, GTS is also on special and has unbeatable value at this price point.
https://www.mearth.com.au/pages/gts-price-sale

Lastly, we have been working restlessly with the government to push forward the legislation of Electric Scooter, and gladly many states has adapted this. (6 years ago when we started, E-scooters were not allowed in all states.)
However, Each state and territory in Australia have different rules and regulations for using your product, including where you can legally use such products and if you need to register them with your state’s road traffic authority. Any information provided by us here is general in nature only and may not take account of your specific circumstances. It is the responsibility of each user to check their local laws before riding.
Always ride with caution and always wear a helmet and protective gear.

One more note on the high performance scooter, the max speed can also be an indication of the performance of the scooter, eg: 70Kph max speed doesn't mean you need ride it a 70kph everyday.
And a tip on selecting a suitable range for almost any type of electric scooter. If you need a minimum range of 20km, times it by 2 and look for a scooter with a Max range of 40km. This rule applies to almost any brand and types of e-scooters.

Again, Thankyou for the OZB Community for the support!

    70Kph max speed

Which state is that legal in ?

    • +13

It is legal in every state if you ride it in private property or in a supervised closed track.

It is illegal in every state to ride it at 70kph on footpath, public roads.

Howevery, 95% of the GTS MAX Owner are not really looking to reach the highest speed in most of their rides. It is the power, torque, acceleration that they want.

        • +4

For example, one of our GTS MAX owner Michael Clemente, a race car driver from TCR Australia uses his GTS MAX to do track walks before his race.
Well, different people has different usage. Thats why we have 3 Series of E-scooter.
S-Series perfect Durable entry level scooter.
RS-Series Ultimate Long Range scooter for everyday use.
GTS- Series Flagship range that delivers the best performance.

        • +12

Oh, give up. You can ride these anywhere in Australia at 70kph on private property.

            • +16

@jv: Since when did you have the authority to speak on behalf of "most" people?

                • +12

@jv: I'm not professing to make broad reaching assumptions and generalisations about "most" people. Nice try, though.

            • @jv: @jv Every electric scooter post you find you litter the comments section with the same thing, in many cases it's just you copying and pasting from your previous electric scooter posts or copy/paste from the OP comments. Everytime people massively downvote your comments. Yet you keep coming back for more. OzB comments section is for sharing information, asking or answering questions.
You do realize that you're repeatedly stating the obvious, not only this but you copy/paste statements then ask questions about it, even though you know the answer. Just look at your previous questions, you're wasting people's time and effort for your own entertainment.
What you don't seem to understand is that there are so many people in the comments here that want to see the electric scooter/bike laws change to allow people to legally ride scooters on the road in a safe way. The various state governments are already feeling pressure from the massive uptake of electric scooter/bikes that they need to change the laws. The Victorian government is already running public trials on scooter laws, one of them in Ballarat and Melbourne ABC News Electric scooter trials. It's a similar situation to Uber ride share, it was illegal but everyone ignored the fact that it was illegal and kept using the service. This pressured the government into legislating it, now Uber is legal. Hopefully the same thing will happen with electric scooters. Allow people to legally and safely use scooters as a form of transport and give heavy fines to people that ride unsafely and risk the safety of people around them.

              • @PukeyLuke:

Every electric scooter post you find you litter the comments section

That is a lie !!! So I won't bother reading the rest of your tripe…

            • @jv:

              a bit pointless

Which states allow you to drive a car at over 160 km/h?

          • -1

@cashie: e-scooters have different laws to cars.

            • +1

@jv: Cars have different laws to e-scooters.

    • +20

Jv, do you have some kind of problem we should be aware of?

  • +1

At least with Tas, eScooters are legal on both the footpath and road. It's good to see that the batteries are hot swappable.

      • -1

Yep if you stay under 25km/h it's no problem.

        • +2

Are you sure? It's usually classed based on how fast it can go, not how fast you go. Which is why e-scooter manufacturers normally limit the max speed, which makes it legal, and then with 5 minutes of googling the user can unlock the full speed.

          • +3

@Aequitas: All our scooters are restricted to under 25kph to meet regulations to most states.

Unrestricted speed are only for off-road occasion.

            • +1

@Mearth: Should probably make that a lot clearer

We were so glad to see more and more LGA are adapting the E-Mobility. We just had a another chat with Brendon the deputy mayor of the Willoughby Council regards to the NSW trial. Hopefully some good news will be announce soon

      • Keep up the good work! So hoping that the trials will come soon.

        • With our archaic nanny-state government it is going to be a slow-painful and probably disappointing process.

          • @singlemalt72: No doubt :(

          • +1

@singlemalt72: Agree, but fair to speak. There are many in the government being so proactive and helpful when we are trying to speed up the trial.

My mate bought a scooter from this mob and it was faulty - took them many months to get it replaced and it's still faulty and they are ghosting him

    • +1

Hi Mate, sorry we didn't meet your expectation. If you can provide us your order information or what happened. I can look into this for you and make sure everything has done right.

  • Is a good product but if it can’t go outside of your property then it defeats the purpose. Just like drones you can simply fly around.

    • Thats true, if you are in NSW. Stay tune, the trial will come out soon now!a

  • +1

After all the dramas with the Ninebot G30 a year and a bit ago, giving this mob(scootcity) a miss.

Is this the same scooters the hooligans used to run over Grannies as shown on ACA…. Lol

  • I've been trying my best to get e-scooters legal in NSW. Hopefully they will be allowed soon!!

    • -1

It's not looking good in Melbourne.

Lots on the trial are being fined for not following rules and quite a few are being dumped in the Yarra river.

      • +1

Yup, this is why I believed private e-scooters are the way to go. People take care of them better

        • -1

why I believed private e-scooters are the way to g

Won't happen though if there are problems during the trial.

          Dan doesn't like e-scooters.

        • They should just ban the sharing market. Didnt work for bikes (which are legal) and wont work for eScooters (which arent). Personal eScooters should be allowed however as people unlikely to leave a $500-1000 item just laying around or tossed into the river.

    • -7

Hopefully they will never be legal. Dangerous stupid things ridden by irresponsible morons mostly.
Have a look at the deaths and serious injuries they have already caused in places like Brisbane.Having these share footpaths especially with elderly is an utterly braindead idea. Unfortunately we have utterly braindead state politicians and councillors who think they are cool who will probably allow them.

      • You sound mad. Have you looked up injuries from normal bicycles? Maybe we should ban all bikes and anything that causes injury. Then we can all live in padded boxes to keep us safe. Never go outside, instead have pictures of the outside world delivered to your padded box.

      • Let's ban planes because when they crash they can kill hundreds. Oh and the countless cars that crash and kill people each week.

  • Segway f20a scooters also on sale at Aldi for $299 down from $499+

    • but not nationwide and even in the states where it's available local stores have pretty much been exhausted bone dry :( that said looking into mearth's shenanigans per Tyrone's comments below I wouldn't exactly consider this a fitting alternative
if only the f40a's could have a sale, perfect weight/distance middle ground for me
