        • Ok nvm seems to suddenly work….thanks anyway tio!

  • Got 2 for US$505.26, which should come out to around AU$250ish after all the charges. Great thank to OP and mod for putting up with deal. Just when my 128Gb vertex 3 got 4Gb left on it :)

    • I did the same a few days ago. Looks like I have been charged $488AUD for the two 256GB drives delivered!
This is much better than having Amazon convert it for me ($502AUD).

  • +2

    It's $9 cheaper now!

    • Thanks! Title updated

      • lol, it's just drop another $2 or so

  • +1

Make the ~120GB drives $1 per GB!!!!!

    :(

  • Thanks OP! I got the deal for $246 delivered

    • Thanks for letting me know about the further price drop! Just contacted them and got a refund for the price difference!

Update:Friday 4/05/2012 Price dropped again! now US $229.99 Shipping US $6.64 Total US $236.63 Delivered
Guess the price war has started!

    • Price war with who? Themselves?

hehehe.. they keep lowering their already low prices ;)

      • Seems so! Make whoever(including myself) bought this one week ago feels a little bit silly!

  • I just got it for $216 from Amazon

    • yeah, its getting cheaper all the time ;)

    • Updated price in title! thanks!

  • I just noticed that both tigerdirect and circuitcity are selling them at US$199.99 on Amazon. But they don't post to Australia.
I would assume Amazon itself would lower the price further to compete. So buyers beware. On the other hand, if Amazon ever stopp sending this to OZ, then…

    • $216 is competing - as we would still have to pay US->AU shipping.

ps: why are we both posting the same things in 2 threads? ;)

  • Initially bought it for $248 but due to the drops in price, managed to get it for $216.11 + $6.64 postage = $222.75. They don't price match. Just got to keep an eye on their site for further drops before my item is shipped out.

  • Hope other brands can follow suit!

Ordered two last week, How can I ask them to refund the difference?

    • You can try "contact us" — "Live Chat". Some people were successful while others not. Good luck!

  • Price seems to have dropped to 199.99, but for some reason now when I try to checkout it says that it won't ship to Australia :/

  • I've asked them to match the price twice now and they've done it. Through the live chat system. You just need to make sure that when you ask them, your item hasn't been shipped out yet.

    • Reckon these prices are a temporary thing and we should jump in and buy them now or the prices will still be this low in a month or so?

    • thanks… getting my refund of $32.88
      Mine shipped…yesterday (5 days late)..
got the standard line "Thanks for contacting us about the recent price change on Solid State Drive SATA. I recognize you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Unfortunately, we do not have a post-order price guarantee."

but was firm in my reply.. then got this
"I've reviewed your order and see that the price change is significant from the time the item shipped.
Under the circumstances, I'll make an exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of $32.88. You should see the refund in the next 2-3 business days."

and now it's like 206 shipped BOOM!

  • Yep it's down to 206.63USD delivered.

  • TY bought one at the new price of $199 +shipping!

Thanks have been sitting and hoping this would drop again to sub $200

Time for another description price update :)

  • Just picked up one as well. I was not expecting the drop within 24hrs of the last post. I would have thought sub $200 within one week. So a very nice bonus for all.

I am a little surprised however with the shipping estimates I was quoted:

    Shipping estimate: May 14, 2012 - May 15, 2012
    Delivery estimate: May 24, 2012 - June 7, 2012

Tuk in another thread order an hour ago and was quoted:

Shipping Estimate Monday May 7, 2012
Delivery Estimate: Friday May 11, 2012

So it may be that they are now at a pre-order state and have run out of physical on-hand stock.

I only discovered these longer time estimates after clicking to proceed with the order.

  • Back to ~$229 again from the looks of it via Amazon.

Scratch that - now $199 again. Happy times!

  • Just ordered for $199, seems pretty good price.

  • Now back to $229.95.

  • It's $209 now but it won't let me ship to an Australian address. Anyone else have this problem?

    • yep, won't ship.

      • It's annoying because the other day it was fine. Now it will require the use of a freight forwarder which will be slower and more expensive.

  • Same here, $210 but won't ship to Aus.

  • It's $199.99 again now, but no shipping to Aus.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W2JL2A/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…

    • Back up to $210 now and still no shipping to Aus

  • Anyone know the cheapest shipping method to get one to Aus?

And why Amazon doesnt ship to Aus anymore?

    • Using Shipito's priority airmail option it will probably cost around $15-16, but you will need a Shipito account

  • Hmm about 240ish using priceusa.

  • Not sure how I can edit my existing post but the final price from PriceUSA was A$236.12.

  • This drive is pretty good. It's write speed is about 15MB/s lower than the SATAII interface will allow. For those of us wanting to upgrade laptops, you won't be able to find a more suitable SSD without paying more for what you can't use.

I will definitely buy this if it drops to this price again.

  • Anyone having any luck with shipping to oz lately?

  • -3

congrats to ozbargain for playing it's part in making Amazon NOT ship them to Australia.

    • +3

Unless you're suggesting there was some sort of fraud/mass refunds/other annoyance on behalf of OzBargainers, I'm not sure how a whole bunch of Australians ordering these drives would have played a part in Amazon choosing not to ship them here.

  • I think there was an error before, only the 256 size was available to ship to AU all other sizes of same unit would not allow. I just went back and checked 3 other electrical purchases I made with amazon this year and ALL no longer will ship to AU, so it's not just this product. I heard the aussie retailers were putting pressure on manufacturers to stop online stores like amazon undercutting au pricing. I figured amazon was above such concerns - seems not!

  • Amazon still wont post to AU. Aussie retailers whinging that they cant price gouge us anymore - have put pressure on alot of OS distributors to ban posting to AU. Not happy.
