          Ummm

        • +5

          Yay, Nomorespin.

        • LOL!

        • Well he puts the spin in Mazespin…

        • Let's go Kimi!

        • +1

I love how he came 21st out of 20 drivers and had more spins than races

    • +2

Actually he is racing. Tested negative…

Sort of related, I used this website last week to automatically save all the quali and race times in outlook.
    https://f1calendar.com/

Makes me sad that a lot of races are at ridiculous times for us Aussies…Can't wait for 10th April!

    • +9

Seems to get worse every year so liberty media can make times more attractive for America.

      • +3

Yeah they should prioritise hermit kingdom of 23m people rather than their lucrative key new territory where they’re finally gaining a foothold after decades of hard work

    • +2

That’s awesome, thanks for posting! The first two races are at dreadful times indeed :(

    • +9

Live race times are mostly great here in WA. Most of them are at 9PM on Sunday.

      • +7

Yep almost perfect timing for me in Perth, have loved watching live the last couple of years :)

    • +1

The f1 app shows local start times too, if you don't want to clog up the old calendar

      • Or the website above gives you an email reminder ahead of each weekend. We have so many options!

    • +1

And during COVID we lost Melbourne, Suzuka and Shanghai. You were relieved when it was 'only' an 11pm start on the east coast that week… 2/3 back this year at least

    • Good man.

    • That's super-related!

      Thanks heaps, great find :)

    • Thanks, I was able to update the F2 calendar I was subscribing to, The calendar didn’t have session times, just the dates.

Keen to watch Jack Dooan, Liam Lawson, Callan Williams do their thing. 🇦🇺 🇳🇿

I’ve got f1, f2, and Indycar in my calendar.
Just want supercars. I have the calendar from supercars.com. But it doesn’t have session times, just dates for the rounds currently. I have emailed them today asking to add session times.

And for anyone who thought I left, I never left. Just moved aside for a while.

      Pieerrreeeeee GAAASSSLLYYYYY :)

  • Doesn't it normally start on a Thursday night?

    • +27

      This guy only watches Monaco

  • +4

Are the replays free for qualifying? I don't really want to wake at 2am for it.

    • +3

From memory the replays are free too

    • +1

I usually just watch the highlights on the f1 youtube channel in the morning and then watch the actual race

  • +7

    El Plan

  • +28

I've been watching DTS and I'm reliably informed that it's important to qualify on pole position because that means you're ahead of everybody else.

    • +14

      Thanks Will Buxton.

    • +2

Not only that, it's also super important to qualify first as it means everybody is behind you for the start of race.

  • +2

why is it considered a freebie? does it mean it isn't included even if you're a kayo subscriber?

    • +3

because you'd normally need a subscription to watch any f1 content

  • +3

Looks like MotoGP FP/Quali is free too!

  • Does Kayo app on Android allow PiP yet?

  • +6

When is Kayo going to stream in 4K??

    • +2

that'd be pretty sweet. i've seen the sky coverage in 4k and the quality is absolutely insane

    • +3

They need to fix up HD first. The artifacts in watching live NRL is driving me insane.

      • +2

Yep, the fact that illegal streams have better quality than official ones via kayo is embarrassing.

    • You just know they'll double the price….. So count me out.

    • Kayo uses the regular HD feed from Sky Sports UK.

People have to pay extra for 4k so the answer is never. I doubt they'll even bring it out as a feature.

Similar thing with the UFC, but actually worse. If you buy a PPV from ufc.tv it's 720p. I've switched to a subscription where I get BT Sport/ESPN+ and both are in bloody 1080p and look SO MUCH BETTER.

      We get shafted down here.

  • +1

Can this season hurry up and end so we can watch drive to survive…

    • +8

drive to survive sucks, boo this person

      • Hehehe.. Whatchu talking bout Willis!!!

  • +8

    rawe ceek my dudes

  • +1

thanks for sharing. Do you need to sign up first for free trial and then cancel payment such that you have an account on Kayo to watch the freebie?

  • +14

https://sportsurge.net for all races streamed free for the year

    • +2

      The real MVP

    • +1

Whoahhhh! Am watching MotoGP FP3 right now on it thanks!

      • which station/channel thingy?

  • good one

  • Random question as I'm not actually an F1 fan or watcher really, but does anyone actually get value out of this?

Like obviously it's been made free as a "hook" so if you watch a bit you'll subscribe to see what people actually want to watch, "the races".

I guess what I'm asking is, does anyone watch this for free, enjoy it, but then not watch the actual races you have to pay for?

    • The tactic works 100%.

Otherwise you'd have to pirate 3 x free practices and 1 x qualifying and you're watching it after the fact ie. downloading.
So most people just never watch them and only pirate the race.

This was me when I was younger even when it was free on channel 10 (10 only showed the race and not qualifying or practice).

Now people can watch the whole weekend's worth, which gives you so much more context in understanding the build-up. If you can't watch the race live, instead of waiting for someone to capture it, upload it and then you download it (and dodging spoilers) you can watch it whenever you're ready on Kayo.

People share Kayo accounts too because they watch different sports so it doesn't clash.

    • Great value for me as the first few couple of races start early monday mornings while the qualifying is early sunday morning and I am actually able to watch. Once the races are at more reasonable times I will subscribe to kayo.

Let's go Yuki! (profanity) Perez, (profanity) (profanity)

  • Anyone tried this?? Found it on interwebs…

Hi. You do not need to download an app to watch Kayo sports on a Firestick. I have the Firestick 4K and have been happily watching Kayo sports in HD for the last 4 months - F1, Golf, surfing, sailing and rugby etc

How? Easy. Kayo is sent out via a company called Streamotion, and their streams happily work on any device or browser that has suitable decoding and copy protection.

Amazon Firestick has a beaut browser called Silk which decodes streams nicely. Install and/or fire up that browser, (it comes up on my front menu with the title "Internet" and the Amazon smile underneath), type in kayosports.com.au and then complete your login.

Presto - you are at the Kayo home screen and you can set your personal parameters and settings there. The way to move around the Silk screen is via the Up/Down/Left/Right buttons on your remote. You will see a round cursor move over the screen. When you hover over an active url, the text under the cursor highlights, and you then press the OK button of your remote to select.

I found there are a few further things to be aware of to help make your viewing nice and consistent

First, give the browser a little time to download and display menus. Kayo floods the screen with all sorts of graphics and info, so it takes a moment for all the previews to download. Waiting few moments for the screen to scroll is not unusual.

Second, it is of course slow to type in your email address and password using the remote and the onscreen keyboard, but you only have to do that one time and Silk stores that ready to go (if you clear the cache, you might have to re-type, though).

Third, when you get to the home page of your favourite sport on Kayo, store it as one of your Favourites so you can easily jump to that page in future.

Fourth, you will note that when Kayo starts to play a stream it is not full screen. Before you think you are cheated, relax - just move your cursor to the bottom of the screen and up will pop an overlay menu. Here is where you get all the pause, replay, jump forward and back, timeline slip, and on the far right, the button to drop you into full screen mode !! More options come up as you move up the right hand side of the screen, and the buttons on your remote will also activate different functions onscreen including details and info of the program. Play around and you will discover how easy it is, and quite impressive.

There is only one further thing I have discovered when accessing Kayosports using this browser - after about 3 months, the picture started to be slightly jerky. I rebooted my Firestick and cleared the browser cache - everything back to being smooth again.

Hope that helps you enjoy KayoSports on the Firestick without any app download
