There will be no difference with say, these ones in terms of sound quality?.. https://www.catch.com.au/product/2pcs-speaker-stands-stand-s…

    It is just the design…

    • +2

Some might say the quality is sound.

      • I wasn't sure I understood you, but if you say that the sound quality depends on the stands design that's not proven by any measurements. I checked that as an owner of a decent sound system. Neither do those fancy separator stands (IsoAcoustic) work.

It was a Dad joke I made by using sound (adj.) in good condition; not damaged, injured, or diseased.

        • When you get speaker stands, you want one's that you can fill the base with sand, this deadens and vibrations.
Metal ones can really do more harm to the sound of a speaker than assisting it.

    • Thanks for that, needed speaker stands - people obviously like these based on the reviews and price for 2 adjustable ones pretty damn good.

Thanks adjustable design is good, unlike stand design speaker height does affect the sound.

    • Probably not, but to me the Jamo's are more aesthetically pleasing, which may be important to some.

    • that adjustable mechanism is very likely to rattle. Also monopole design is not as stable.

      • Well it's just the industry standard design in studios. Do you think they rattle in studios and concerts? If there is two plates connected together, what difference does it make stability wise with how many poles they are connected with?..

        https://www.belfieldmusic.com.au/search?type=product&q=monit…

        • They may rattle in studios, depending on the volume. If they rattle at concerts it makes no difference as the music would be much louder than perceivable rattling.
If you buy them and let us know if they rattle at loud volumes in a domestic setting then that would be useful.

My 'also … ' was referring to something other… so something other than sound quality consideration is stability of the speaker on the stand.
On another 'also…', the look of a monopole vs polypole design may make a difference for some people.

          • @g1: You really think that they master recordings in studios using multiple thousand dollar equipment for even more expensive projects suffering from the rattle of monitor stands?..

How a multiple pole design affects speaker (monitor) stability on a stand? It could only do that if the poles will stand directly on the floor. But those poles just interconnect two steel plates. So one or 10 poles makes no difference in terms of stability.

  • Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree usually have a lot of listings for second-hand speaker stands if you want to save some money.

These are so ugly and at $105? I would much rather get these (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234245879010?) for $69.99. I actually do have a set at home. LOL

  • What not just wall mount?

  • I think it's kind of odd that a speaker manufacturer makes stands with no way off adding weight. You know - Newton's third law and all that.

  • I often find photos of speaker stands a bit deceptive. They look taller than 60cm. I need taller ones for my rears.

    • Wall mount it ?

I'm a renter, so not a great option.. The ones linked from Catch above will hopefully do the trick.
