Hi all,

Following the request and response from yesterday's arsecrushing deal, we've created this i9 12900KF 3080 Gaming PC.

If it's not listed, it's not available as an option from us. As is our model this is a bang for buck type scenario and hope it ticks the boxes people are after. I've been more specific in the parts list because it's on hand / on order for this deal only (does not necessarily reflect specs of parts in other current deals where they're stated as brand/model may vary). A couple of new upgrade options too, also limited to this SKU for now.

      Bloody useless!

      This so-called high-end machine doesn't even have a CD-ROM drive so how in the hell am I going to run the copy of Microsoft Encarta 1995 I just bought?!

      As for gaming? PFFFT! No PC Game Port socket so forget using anything like a Gravis Black Hawk Digital joystick for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 with this machine.

      So disappointing. I'm negging this deal into oblivion.

    Hmm not quite the parts I had in my build when planning. Apart from the warranty I feel like this wasn't as great of a deal as what could be had back in afterpay sale. Specced it closer to what I could have bought and it does actually fair worse in price from here. Apologies but this actually isnt that cheap in my opinion.
    Even current prices from eBays current sale (Which is worse than last weekend) still fares cheaper than your deal with much better parts for the equivalent price

      I think it's already pretty good they can build it and ship it close to cost price when you're buying each individual item on sale.

      Might be just me, but if I'm asking for a PC to be custom built for me, I'd be expecting to pay more for it.

        Fair but the ones in my list are far better parts. I could save $150 almost immediately with the case but yhe one I listed is ranked one of the best for airflow.
        And that's only 1 component

      Can you please address what's wrong with them?
      I am a newbie to PC building and would like to know.
      To my knowledge the power supply is 80+ gold and fully modular which is great. ram is 3600 and dual module which is great. What am I missing?
      Do you mean they are not great reviews-wise and not specs-wise?

        bad 240mm aio colling the best of the best hottest of the hottest cpu is not cutting it esp oced
        ram is 3600 c18, i mean its not bad, same as 3200 c16 with more bandwidth but just. not good really. (never is with a prebuilt).
        prebuilt pc ssd's are never good, and i mean never always some trash off the shelves left over for 5 years that they couldnt sell.
        turns out the psu is fine, decent quality actually. so nvm
        case is just some low quality trash although tbh the airflow looks better than my first glance so its not that bad tbh

            @here for deals: just dont. ram is an extremely long and confusing rabbit hole

            the 'c' is just cas latency
            3200 and 3600 and so on is just the MT/s (megatransfers/s) (everyone calls it MHZ even tho thats technically wrong and mhz is half so it would be 1600 and 1800 but nobody cares and mt/s is cringe., DDR - double data rate if thats a clue)

            more mhz = more bandwith because more data sent per second

            ram timings are in clock cycles, lower is better. so 3200 c14 is much better than 3200 c16.
            2000 * timing / ddr_freq <<<< formula for calculating ns

            truth is tho… ram is a scam. buying the best of the best ram, 4000c14 1.55v or a 3000 c15 bottom of the barrel kit wont lead to insane differences. unless your actually going to OC that ram then I always recommend some 3200 c16 ballistix kit for like $85.
            now ram oc is just even more complicated, if you want a sense of that… and you ever want to oc ram then

            and theres quite a few ^ that link shows my setup and you can see like 20 different adjustable timings all that affect eachother. my setup is practically the best of the best you can get on ryzen until you start killing your ram with insane voltages.

            basically, dont buy ram other than a 3200 c16 kit unless your actually going to spend weeks overclocking it

              If I am not asking too much, can you please share the specs of your pc and/or suggest me a part-list so that I can have a benchmark/reference for my first pre-built purchase?
              Now, I cannot ask you to suggest something without telling you what I need. Here you go -
              * My monitor will either be a 1440p 27 inch flat screen or a 1440p curved ultra-wide. Haven't decided yet. All I know is I'll stick with 1440p for now.
              * Apparently, the difference between 3080ti and 3080 is only marginal. So, I'll settle for a 3080, I guess?
              * Don't know what to choose between i5 12600KF and i7 12700KF (should I choose K or KF? I think KF because I'll have a dedicated GPU, right?)
              * Maybe a 240 All-In-One?
              * RAM is going to be 3200 c16, like you already suggested. 16gb dual channel should do it.
              * I reckon PSU should be at least a 850W 80plus gold rating. Haven't given it much thought.
              * I am currently researching storage. NVME, PCIE, SSD and all that. All I know is SSD is superior to HDD and OS should be on SSD for faster boot speeds.
              * Don't know anything about motherboards yet. I'll look into it after storage.

              As you can see, I don't a latest and greatest PC. I am enjoying my learning experience of PC parts and PC gaming so far.

                @here for deals: ive got a 5600x, b550-e gaming mobo <(ass), h150i rgb pro xt aio <(ass), GTX 970 (living its last breath), 2x8 4400c19 patriot vipers, lian li lancool ii mesh case (maxed out with p12 and p14's)

                1. I know nothing about monitors so..
                2. 3080ti and 3080 is like 5% im preety sure and considering how much cheaper a 3080 is just go for that defo
                3. K vs KF is just int graphics like u know, it really doesnt matter just go for whats cheaper, same price go for KF. cant decide your cpu for you but 12600kf sounds good.. 6 good cores 4 e cores, 12700kf with 2 more p cores sounds nice but honestly not needed especially for gaming, and especiallly when you have those 4e cores aswell. so id go 12600kf
                4. 240 aio would prob be ok but if you want 280 are very similar price and a bit better. depends on case tho <<
                5. 2x8 3200 c16 ballistix is good, can upgrade to 4x8 dual rank in future if needed
                6. this is a decent quality psu that wont explode from use https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/power-supplies/atx/82460… , not top of the top end but still very good.
                7. buy yourself and m.2 nvme ssd. kingston a2000 was on sale lately if thats on sale, otherwise sn750, 970 evo plus, crucial p5 are all good options, or you can go gen 4 with a sn850, 980 pro, or p5 plus for budget

                  @abjsdhasehasee: If K and KF are the same price, you should be going for K. The F means no iGPU. Not super critical if you have a dGPU but:

                  • iGPU means you can run without a dGPU. You won't be gaming like that, but it's helpful if, say, your video card fails.
                  • The iGPU can be enabled to offload some tasks from the dGPU. e.g. if you're streaming, it's helpful to be able to encode the stream on the iGPU (QSV is great) and leave the dGPU for the game only.

                  Typically the one with the iGPU will cost a bit more. I personally consider it worth the cost. But if they're the same price, obviously go for the one with more functionality!

          Dell has only 1 year warranty by default. Using better parts makes more sense than providing warranty with shxty parts.

      Do not buy Dell Alienware R12
      Has so many cooling issues, the PSU and Mobo cannot be changed out so you can't fix it
      Warranty is nice because the Graphics card was DOA twice, next day service was good
      I'm selling mine, the SSD under the GPU is the only place you can add a PCIE
      They disconnect when the system overheats after a few hours even when they have a heatsink
      Would be nice to have added an extra fan for $5 and better case cooling.
      Instead of selling a computer that overheats stock

          Dell is using 120mm AIO which will definitely not enough for 12900k. Also the heat from RTX 3080 when gaming will make it even worse in the case.

    3080 is am impressive deal and you have respected the CPU with WC. I think 16 GB RAM could be a little low for the specs though, otherwise it's a great system.

        I customised the deal on the TechFast page and made it similar to the Titan Tech deal (32gb ram, Windows activation, 2tb HDD, but didnt add any warranty)

        And the price came to $3,275.00 with the promo code, so they're heaps similar in price after that. Are the part brands really that much better?

      TechFast is cheaper and better. Gainward is better, dual ball bearing. Aorus 850w is excellent. TT deal is only 750w psu.

    @luketechfast - SSD price doesnt make sense. It's $179 extra to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0 on the operating system drive but for extra storage its $179 for an entire 4.0 ssd anyway. Shouldn't it be like $50 to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0 considering the 3.0 by itself for additional storage is $129.

    @luketechfast have they resolved the issue with this Gigabyte power supply?
    There were reports of them overheating and burning.
    edit: Ooops sorry it was the 850GM PSU.
