Following scrimshaw's successful deal on Amazfit GTR this morning, I reached out to Amazfit to see if they would do a better price on GTR 2e which I prefer over GTR due to its modern bezel-less design. I was sent a couple of coupon codes and luckily for GTR 2e it stacked with the existing 10% coupon, bringing the total price down to $131.40.

I prefer over GTR due to its modern bezel-less design.

The display on GTR 2 is much better also, improved contrast and brightness.

  • Thanks OP, been looking for a replacement for my failing Honor magic work watch for a few days now, at this price (gtr 2e) it's a steal

  • I got one but not sure if it was a good buy. Need a good GPS and HR read and idk if this will deliver that?

    • that depends….you want GPS for what…if it's just run tracking, and heart rate monitoring, it is pretty good. I have had 2 Amazfit watches and very impressed with value for money and performance. I use a GTS 2e (square h rectangular version of the one in post).

  • i got both this gtr2e and the original gtr from the other post, looks like the discounts stack so i got combined for $200.40

    • One for each wrist?

      • Lol, one will be a gift.

    Damn already sold out :(

  • Amazon page says its currently unavailable

  • So quick, GTR 2e OOS

  • look like the gts 2 mini is the similar bip U pro https://youtu.be/4eGFJd7NY5I

  • How accurate is the sleep and sensors compared to Fitbit? As much as Fitbit breaks I past iterations I've found even heart rate to be spot on if doing a blood pressure test or other tests at the same time. Sleep seems generally good too. Seems to be a few reviews giving a negative to the sensors on these being wrong?

    • I own the GTS 2 Mini and it's been fairly accurate. It would sometime count periods of inaction when I'm reading a book or on my phone before bed. Heart rate sensor is not accurate however but my previous Fitbit wasn't accurate either.

      • That's interesting. Id have thought the heart sensor was used for its sleep sensing too?

On the Fitbit front I've always found the heart sensor accurate? I mean using a blood pressure machine the pulse I got was always identical to what Fitbit was pumping out.

Are they going to list the GTR 3 on Amazon AU? Any chance of a deal?

    • +1

Yeah I would love to upgrade my GTR to the GTR3

  • Is the Amazfit2mini available in Pink at this price? I can't get it to work.

I had the Amazfit GTR 2 on order, but canceled it after watching a video on YouTube from a channel called "The Quantified Scientist". Seems all these Amazfit bands are pretty hopeless when it comes to how accurate the sensors are. I'll probably get negged like crazy for this comment, but definitely check out one or more of his videos about the Amazfit bands if you want to see what I mean.

these are smart watches first, (btw not 'bands'.) accurate scientific devices…somewhere down the list.

feel free to spend more money for something more accurate or fit for your purpose of 'measuring accurately'. but I feel at the price it's pretty good value considering form, function and price.

Why to trust a watch and its sensors for any health/medical related issues? If you have any BP, Oxygen or heart related issues, there are reliable devices available to check those. No matter its Apple, Samsung or Chinese Brands, one can't rely on these. Also it varries how you wear it on your wrist, i.e. loose with metal bands etc which affects sensors reading. Bottom line is, I only use these watches for notifications and fitness related targets like steps, calories etc, which works well almost on all watches be it Chinese brands or hi end ones.

You don't buy a $100 chinese brand smart watch if you want pinpoint accurate sensors.

I'm seeing reviews suggesting that these calibrate to you and produce better results over time (e.g., walking and running on gps will then start to produce better results when you're on a treadmill at home). Similarly I question the "sleep study", he only used 3 nights of sleep data in the video - I'm not even sure thats statustically significant period of time, and he doesn't say if he's allowed it time (+days) to calibrate or not beforestartinf the the test. My experience with sleep trackers (apps) is they need at least a week's worth of measurements before the results are reliable.

I won't suggest this watch that this review is bad, I just have doubt that the watch is really as bad as it's being made out to be.

  • anyone fan of amezfit t-rex pro?

I have the gtr 2e, any questions, let me know. Had it for about 6 months and a few observations:
    - The GPS sucks! Sport tracking is jittery and the second there is not clear sky, it fails.
    - The battery life is good but nothing like advertised, 2 weeks max.
    - Software updates are few and far between.
    - The screen is really good.

I had a BIP before this and it is honestly a better device, this just has way better build quality.

    • Is that 2 weeks battery with Alwahs On Display activated?

      Is the sleep tracking decent?

      • No, always in display hammers the battery. You'll be looking at about a week.
I have lost to display enabled in sensitive. Sleep tracking is ok but nothing to race about. Got the money, it is a good watch but the main thing to note is the GPS is garbage. I believe proximity to mobile phone towers also causes it to lose positioning… but that is total theory only

So $100 Chinese classic not as good as $500 competitor…. I’m genuinely surprised… I bought one anyway

    • the $600+ Garmin!

  • Can you reply to an SMS message from the Watch ?

  • I have a gts2 mini if anyone has questions

  • any deal for GTS 2?

  • Apparently there is a 2022 version of GTS 2 mini has been released. I ordered it from Ali Express in ~A$110 (incl. shipping) and its on the way. Not sure what has been changed though. See below link:

    https://a.aliexpress.com/_mtepRcE

    • I don't think that's a new version of the GTS 2 mini - I think it's just the same GTS 2 mini on Amazon. Specs the same and still has the old(er) Biotracker 2 PPG system - the new watches are up to 3 now. Better to buy on Amazon for faster shipping, warranty + returns

      • Yeah, I also couldn't find any difference in specs. Anyway, just took a chance and bought it from Aliexpress. Let see. The new 3 series doesn't has any smaller version yet, as I wanted to buy something smaller and lighter.
