    • Looking at the poor reviews on the next page. We're all gonna be scalping this soon.

Too good not to buy one with the Amex deal. My daughter is the benefactor here. Thanks OzB and OP.

Received several updates since using it.

    Seems good. Very comfortable.

Offered it to the wife and she declined. Kinda wished she took it so I could get something more suitable for me but it should do the job fine.

Coming from a Galaxy watch active 2, it seems more like a fitness tracker first, smart watch…3rd? No issues there but wouldn't buy this for the smart features alone. They're more of a bonus on this one.

I bought it to track rides, walks and runs, so I think it'll be better than the GWA2.

    • how is the phone notifications ? iphone ?

      • I don't have an iPhone.

I used this on an S22 Ultra.

Notifications are fine. Not as good as the Galaxy watch. It'll prevent you from missing notifications but don't expect too much. It's really just a notification and not something you'd want to use to respond to them with.

The activity tracking and insights on the other hand destroy the Galaxy watch. Way more detail

I'm not surprised that she declined. Most women don't use ozbargain price grade watches/trackers.
Looking at what people have written, it's slow and unresponsive and probably not enough in the looks.

  • thanks op. Mothers day gift for the wife, from the kids sorted!!!

Just collected at JB, I noticed many others also collecting it.

Initial impression, it's cheap and comparable to XiaoMi haylou range. It's not worth $299 and $99 is abit overpriced too to be honest. The screen is small with big bezel, not super responsive and very pixelated for some clock face. However, I bet big on the sensors like O2 and heart rate, and also the Garmin brand.

Thanks for your review, i pass

tried hard to find whole day for an unfavourable review to sway myself not to buy

        • +1

same here. been reading reviews to find out if its really that amazing buy..

      • Xiaomi band (7 around the corner) is much better value & lasts 3x longer (no recharge slavery)

        • +1

          but no nfc…..
and spo2 ? but again not sure accurate or not

    • +1

I agree with you… I'm almost like what… I know Garmin watches are not the fastest but the screen unresponsiveness is kinda yuck… Oh well, i'll see in gumtree in a few weeks if wife doesn't like it. Oh the weak cpu may have something to do with extending batt life so can't win everything.

      • you comparing it to an apple watch? you will be disappointed. its 1/6 the price of an apple watch.

    • +2

Yeah I'm with you. I bought it for the sensor data. If I wanted a smart watch I'd give this a swerve and get a Samsung watch instead.

      • same, only got it for the heart rate, oxygen, and sleep tracking app

    • +2

Tracking spO2 using watches are no more than a gimmick, tested mine today and it was 94% (quite low for resting) vs. my finger oximeter showing 98%

      • Yeah except I'm not wearing a finger oximeter to bed all night every night.

        • I turned off the oxygen tracking on the watch, useless waste of battery

      • +2

what if your finger oxi is the trash one? lol

        • Touche good sir :D

But yeah there's an NIH article reviewing smartwatch vs finger oxi readers

It's got to do with the two way red and blue light passing through the finger oxi vs. smartwatch only having one direction of light

    • Been trying to update it but constantly complaining about memory full, what a POS!

      • Yeah I had the same issue. Tried a few times and it did it eventually.

        • Yeah, instead of installing all, I have to choose one by one and it worked.

      • Try using the Garmin express app on your PC, connect the watch and install one by one

        • Can you elaborate further? I'm having same issue unable to update software as "device memory is full". I have the Garmin express app but can't see where to install one by one?

          • @Craze: I didn't install 1 by 1. I kept trying and it worked after a few attempts.

You can try updating via the Garmin Connect phone app, Garmin Express windows app or in the watch settings itself. From memory it worked for me from the watch itself.

Thanks to many people sharing codes - they are all the same FFS.

    • If only they all had the courtesy to come back and delete them, we only would have needed to read one page if comments to get here

  • Just bought one. Save extra 5% with gift cards
    Thank you

  • Judging by the comments so many wives will be rocking this watch.

Brodens are already trying to selling it on Facebook marketplace lol

    • +3

i hate those kind of people. it wont go for much anyway if they flooded the market with these

      • Yea I’m not a fan of them either. (Especially those that scalp a lot of stock & other people miss out on bargain but good this wasn’t the case) Might take them while to sell & make little profit.

  • Some items in your cart can’t be delivered to this address. Please remove them or try a different address.

  • Thanks OP.
    Bought 2 :/

Late to the party it would seem? Nope I was able to check out

    Can't go wrong for $89

Wife will be happy and so will I with the period tracker

    • That's the spirit! No brainer purchase for the wife too.

  • I put it in the basket first and read most of the chats here. Then I close the window and gave up to buy it.

  • Will give it a few days and possibly give to one the kids.
Haven’t found any software option to choose what type of notifications I want to receive from ios. It seems to be everything or nothing.

Vibration is a bit crap too, it’s not very strong. Its mostly the high pitched buzzing that alerts you.

It seems like it’s got plenty of fitness tracking features , but the smartwatch/notification side seems poor.

    • +1

The vibration is totally fine for me. I have it turned down to the lowest setting and still feel it easily.

Agree that it's not a great smart watch. You'd use this for the fitness tracking and sensor data.

  • Missed out by a day 🤔🙄

    • Read again probably you are lucky by a day

    • +3

It leans more towards a sports watch than a smart watch like an Apple Watch to be honest. There is a YouTube video that explains it very well.

      • i got it, wearing it now, for 100 bucks its a bargain, way better than xiaomi

        • Tell that to my wife. She is not happy with it as there is no Apple logo on it. Giving it to her sister who doesn’t care as it is free. Haha

  • To the lucky folk that were able to buy one, Is anyone looking to resell after deciding they don’t like it?!

  • +5

Wasn't a huge fan of the colour so ordered these from Amazon and they just arrived.

They fit perfectly and now I have a black Venue SQ!

    I recommend!

The bands are virtually the same as the one that comes with the watch

    • +1

Yeah I've ordered the same from eBay. I'm pretty comfortable with my masculinity but the white/gold is just slightly too feminine for me.

    • Cheaper option is to use a black sharpie

    • First link no longer available :(

    • OzBarginer paying $20+ to change the colour of their watch… huh!?
