  • This or 3070?

    • +3

      4070 in 5 months.

      Otherwise, 3060 Ti.

      • Y 4070

        • -1

cause people will be pissing and moaning at the price of the new card..

          • @pharkurnell: I don't expect costs to jump much, if at all. There will be souped up cards that use way more power to push clocks to absurd numbers, but there will be great cards at - or close to - current MSRP levels.

There won't be mining incentives to send prices soaring, and the only real cost issue for the standard fare might be GDDR7, if it's required, maybe better cold plates for the VRAM.

    • +3

Both cards have similar performance in games. The 6700XT offers 4GB of extra VRAM whilst the 3070 offers DLSS and RTX tech in games that support it. If they are the same price, personally I’d go with the 6700XT based on the extra VRAM it comes with but it’s up to you as to your preference.

Be aware of this seller, lots of bad reviews on Ebay and Google. already has 16 negative feedback since April.

    • Bad reviews for Harris Technology?!? Say it isn't so! /s

Lmao i pointed this exact same thing out to people in another deal by them and got neggd to oblivion.

      Thats ozbargain for you.

    • I've bought on three occasions from HT on Ebay in the last 6-months. No issues whatsoever.
      Returned one item. No issues.

If you're in Vic, then you can hop in your vehicle and visit them.

      • Same.. 5 order from HT ebay and zero issues past 12 months… very fast postage too from melb to syd.. im very happy with the service.. i also requsted tax invoices and the emailed me a few days later.

Man… they are still trying to flog off their MSI 6800XT for $2,400 !!

    Joustin sticks.

    Lots of problems with
    sending out wrong items,
Selling stuff they have no stock of
    difficulty getting receipts
    difficutty contacting support
yet to need any warranty support from them.. dreading if I ever have to do so..

Eventually, you can get things sorted out..
I don't think they're dogdy on purpose.. but have have really really stupid and bad practices..

Its not, just a once off either, I've had a wonrg item sent out, which they refunded instead of sending out the correct item.. (missed out on my coupon), sorry we dont have stock, but we will give you "X"item instead… then they send out a different item.. which is worse that what they promised… and plenty of issues, trying to get proper tax invoices from them… I don't know why they just dont email them routinely or include them in the box they send out.. like every other eretailer does..
I've tried complaining / give feedback about these issues, but they don't have a department for it.. and they are simply not interested.

If you buy things through ebay.. they pretty much, refuse to give you phone support (even though their order information, teels you to contact them via phone if they are any issues)… you need to be through their ebay email messaging crap..

I prefer to buy anywhere else.. if its a couple of dollars more..

If HT have it signficantly cheaper.. its worth a shot… but be beware of the issues.. and you may need to spend time on the phone and shooting off emails, just to sort things out..

    • Absolutely sounds like a scammer! They have been going downhill …

  • is there a big jump between a 6600 xt and 6700 XT?

    • about 30fps at 1080p

      • yeah I only game in 1440p so what would be the difference for that?

        • +1

          about 20fps

          • +3

@Rod M: Giving the performance difference in fps isn’t helpful. What game are you even talking about?

            • @FireRunner: will it give me more than 100fps on Horizon zero dawn on PC? if so will that be 120fps then? because I get 90 to 100fps on horizon zero dawn currently with the 6600 XT. it hardly seems worth it.

              • +1

@kungfuman: I think it’s on average 25% improvement at 1440p but it will vary from game to game. You’ll have to checkout exact benchmarks for each game though

                • @FireRunner: maybe the benefit would be in games like cyberpunk 2077

                  • @kungfuman: Yeah, I think you’ll feel the difference much more in the most graphically intensive games. Especially if the game runs around 60fps, 25% under can feel a lot worse and 25% above a lot better

            • +1
              • @Rod M: Ah ok, a percentage difference is more informative. You need to at least give the two average fps of the cards.
Without a point of reference, fps difference is meaningless. An additional 30fps from 30 would be impressive, an additional 30 from 300 is pointless

            • @FireRunner: Average performance jump across all new titles

I went for the 6600xt as its not worth the extra $$ and power usage

        • If you game at 2k then no, get a 6800 xt for a noticeable difference

  • +1

Either the bad review is blown out of proportion or I'm insanely lucky because I bought Gigabyte monitor from them and I got it on estimated date with no drama at all

    • +1

You’ll most likely be fine buying from them but if anything goes wrong then you’ll have to deal with the company and it’s lack of customer support. So if you don’t want to deal with potential headache of dealing with a company with poor customer service then you should shop elsewhere

  • what's the different between the two links? why it is $10 diff?

  • +1

Don't buy from Harris Tech - I bought a pair of Airpods Max, listing says "brand new" and the warranty is set to expire in June 2022.
Called Apple, but they can't verify if it has been registered before.
Harris Tech support are absolute rubbish.
They marked the item as "posted" immediately, but didnt give to Aussie Post for 5 days.
I asked 3 times before they gave me a tax invoice.
They are shit to deal with, wouldn't buy anything from them again.

    • They were really good in the beginning, but then at some point they just decided to stop trying.
