                    • @AussieMark: I can't remember but it might be around a month after purchasing, it isn't that long.
Honestly without half price sign up, I don't know if it's worth it as you'll need to pay for the swap as well. Up to you

            • +2

@eug: You are correct. And I am speaking as one of those people i.e. I have been using Flip 3 for the past 4 months as my daily driver (Pixel 5 as a back-up). My experience has been incredible minus the battery life.

Pros: outside screen, flips, incredible amoled display compared to subpar pixel display, wifi 6, latest flagship chipset, windows 11 companion app
Cons: battery life, plastic screen has scratched, no multi user support, bad cameras, did I mention battery life?
Mixed feelings - tall display weird aspect ratio, bixby,

But yeah - I wouldn't get this phone without a Care+ just too risky to throw away $500 - $1500 depending on how much you paid for this experimental phone.

              • @MKBHD: BTW the Flip 3 does not have a plastic screen, it's ultra-thin glass. There is a plastic screen protector on it, that's probably what got scratched.

                • +1

@eug: You can't take it off and I never in the past used a screen protector on my phones. So it feels like a plastic screen to me.

                  • @MKBHD: You can.
With the Fold 3, Samsung replaced the protector on mine for free. They might do it for the Flip 3 as well.

                    • @eug: I wouldn't try this at home lol
                      Others might.
Did you get it replaced at the Samsung kiosk in Westfield? How did you approach them?

    • +2

Samsung have been terrible to deal with. No update after 3 weeks from sending the device in.

That's typical Samsung after sale service (speaking from experience). Even Kogan does better service…

    • +5

Sorry to hear you've had problems with yours.

I would like to give a positive review on the device though.

I have had a Fold3 since about November last year. It is obviously important to remember that being a foldable device, it is more fragile than your standard flagship phone. PARTICULARLY the internal screen and the folding hinge on the outside.

I am reasonably careful with the device (I wouldn't say I'm OCD though) particularly with the hinge (ie. Avoiding dirts, powders and other foreign matter getting into the mechanism) and the internal screen (I've heard stories of people who pushed the middle of the internal screen to fold it and broke the screen in the process)

In saying that. I have a 6 year old and 12 year old whom I let use the device from time to time to watch movies and play games, and feel comfortable enough that it has decent enough structural integrity. I also spend a lot of time at the beach, and again, whilst conscious, am not OCD about not using the device at the beach full stop.

My device is still going strong, I've not had a single quality issue with it, and will likely never go back to a standard phone. My reason for this is fairly niche though. I work in IT and frequently need to carry out work whilst out and about. In the past, I used to carry my phone as well as an iPad. The fold is just big enough that it replaces the need for the tablet for me. I've got a portable HP bluetooth mouse, a foldable keyboard, and a foldable kickstand, the whole setup fits into a small sized messenger bag (Along with wallet, keys and anything else I need when I'm moving about)

It's also AMAZING for mobile gaming (Namely Xbox GamePass) when paired with a telescopic gaming controller and a good set of bluetooth headphones. I've got the Samsung Glap bluetooth controller, and a set of Sony WH-1000XM3.

Lastly, Samsung DEX is pretty awesome too in my opinion (This isn't exclusive to the Fold3). I also carry a Comsol USB-C port replicator (Which has a USB-C, HDMI, and 2 USB 3.0 A ports) in my kit which allows me to hook up to any hdmi screen/TV wherever I am if I want more screen real estate.

I'm ALMOST at the point I could do away with my laptop as well…… ALMOST

Did anyone get a screenshot of that deal?

  • Sounds like those that went with PayPal like myself haven't had the cancel yet

    • Same

    • It'll probably come, just slower because they have to process pp refunds.

  • -3

All colours with 128GB are now showing $1199. The 256GB versions are $1599.

    • You're looking at the Flip 3, this deal is for the Fold 3.

  • Did JB become like TGG and became the bad guys?

Hinting on the price error on Nintendo Switch

    • They now own the good guys, so probably inherited it.

    • TGG has improved it’s customer services with a $50 short expiry code for the price error. Hope you guys get one too from JB.

    Thanks op got 7

JB Hifi price errors are the worst. They take your money taking days to refund you despite telling you they've refunded you and you get nothing for it. Good luck to those who fall for their traps.

    • +2

That delay is your card provider/PayPal. It’s the same on the other end, when you transact JB doesn’t get the money for a few days either.

    • Paid with gift cards, doesn't matter since they technically have my money anyways…

    • Yeah they did the same with the 16TB Firecuda I purchased last year.

    • +1

Not sure people who try to take advantage of an error are in a position to complain about the behaviour of the other party!

  • -5

    They will likely honour it.

    Great price!

Hate these mfers, Sydney Tools and JBHifi sitting my $1.5 k+ collectively without any intention of delivering or any indication of a quick refund.

    • +1

What if they honour it 😊 am optimistic. I think none of us got cancellation email

      • +1

It's jb. Once it was confirmed to be a price error there was never any chance of getting it. Took them 3 days to cancel my last order due to price error, they'll get to it eventually.

  • +1

They have put the item back. I expected them to send a cancellation email by now. Wishes Wishes!! hanging there till I receive the email.

      Hi lookingForCheapDeal,

We’re contacting you about your recent JB HI-FI order JB-69420.

Your order contained the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 256GB (Green) that, unfortunately, was incorrectly priced at $1199, on our website. The correct price for this item should have been $1999.

The item will be back on the website with the correct price shortly.

A full refund will be processed back to your original payment method.

Please allow 2-3 days for the refund to appear on your transaction history. In the event that you used a gift voucher to pay for your order, a replacement e-gift card will be issued to you via email with 2 business days.

We understand that this sort of thing is extremely frustrating, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Whilst JB Hi-Fi takes great care to ensure that its advertising is 100% correct, you will appreciate that, occasionally, among the thousands of products and offers that we advertise, human error does occur.

Thanks for shopping with JB Hi-Fi.

      Kind regards,
      Yo Mama

      • Dang. No email yet but no shipping confirmation either. The waiting game for the cancellation email begins…

  • -1

still no email confirming if the price is indeed an error! Ridiculous!!

    • It took three days last time I got order cancelled for price error and that was for a more niche product wirth a $300 price error.

This was a Samsung phone with a $800 price discrepancy, they probably have many hundreds of orders to cancel and refund and may tak ea few days.

  • +7

With the amount of times this happens JB really should stop charging cards before the item is about to ship, would give them more time to correct their screw ups before money changes hands. That’s how Amazon does it.

    • +1

Exactly, all stores should do it that way. It would save them time and effort to manually process refunds if they are out of stock or have price errors.

    • +1

Ya its a simple rule but I guess the system is too stupid to enforce anything remotely like that.

  • +1

Still no cancellation nor shipping email

    • +1

      Radio silence…

    • Sorry to have to piss in your cornflakes, but if past price error cancellations from JB are any indication then we'll be receiving the cancellation emails today. There's probably no rush for them to get them out when the shipping date was 29th of April anyways.

      • +1

Maybe, it's better to call them and cancel it.

        • So put in extra effort for same outcome and waste time I could otherwise spend shitposting & negging jv on OzB? Now why on earth would I do that?

Which reminds me, time to go dispense my 5 daily negs upon their ass.

        • +2

I emailed them today about the order.. will update when they reply

          • +2

@georgev: Well, it says shipping 29th April, so why not just stay calm and be patient… That's what you signed up for during checkout…

            • @cloudie9: Just got reply

              Dear ****,

I'm sorry about the delay with your online order.

Our buying team have advised that this item is currently on back-order with our supplier.

The estimated delivery date for this item is currently 29/4. This information was provided during the checkout process and also appears in your order confirmation. Apologies if you missed this.

We understand that it may not be convenient for you to wait so if you would prefer to cancel your order please reply to this email.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
              Kind Regards

  • +4

Sorry to burst the bubble as I needed a phone urgently. I actually called Jbhifi to cancel this order and the guy confirmed that this was a pricing error with all orders on hold. He could not cancel it as all orders would be bulk cancelled early next week with a $50 compensation voucher. (Disclaimer: Please dont blame me if it is not $50 when sent across).

    • Didn't you know estimated delivery is 29 Apr?

      • I did, but when you phone decides it has had enough and dies on you, there is no option but to get a new one urgently.

        • So jbhifi is holding thousands of dollars for a month? Hmm…. good business model!

  • +3

Party finish just got refund from PayPal, no email from jbhifi
