This is ok but the base plate is pretty weak mine bent picking up some heavy plants.. have since bought the yellow heavier duty one.

Yes that is it. Much better overall.

        • Hey if you still have both, do you think the wheels and tyres look like the same, or same level of quality on both trolleys (apart from the red paint)? I want to build a heavy duty movers trolley (long, flat, with 4 or 6 wheels). But it seems to be cheaper to buy a couple of trolleys for the wheels than just buying the wheels alone. (My local SCA doesn't take things like this out of the box. So I can't visually compare them.)

Ha! I’ve done exactly the same thing, except our plants bent the axle slightly and now the wheels are a little eccentric. They’re great for boxes and such, but not really suited to really heavy stuff.

@Neatboy that’s the one I ended up getting later on. It’s got a bigger baseplate and wheels, and the flat pieces of steel that jut out to the side at the bottom of the rails really help to stabilise larger items when moving them.

      • Page me when the heavier duty one is $42.99 - have the lighter one (thanks OZB) and tho I've never maxed it out has been very handy.

        • Have you seen it sale for that price, or were you just making a joke? If it's been cheaper I'll wait, lol.

Was $34.99 for anyone who interested.

All the good ones with wide stable base usually costs about $50

      Recommendations?

Give em the trolly, ream them on the replacement wheels

    • Yep. These trolley wheels are like printer replacement inks - worth more than you originally paid for the printer!

  • is it me or are the wheels worth more then the dolly ?

    • Yeap they are when replacing

    • +1

I paid $22.49 for the trolley and $14 for 2 wheels in a promo in 2019 ($4 for the wheels if I deduct the $10 loyalty voucher)
It has served me well in moving washing machine by myself and some heavy plants/bricks.

Didn't have to use replacement wheels yet

    • I would replace them with these foam wheels though, which actually cost more than the dolly.

    Supporting chinese 250kg - hahaahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha

as long as you dont want to move it standing still you might put 250kg on it

I missed physics class and it took way too long for me to understand how leverage works and bought one of these. Very handy, a must have in every garage.

  • Had one of these for over 5 years. Came with a cover that is perishing. My tyres still work well as I never over inflated them or left this out in the weather

    I think I paid $10 on a previous ozbargain

    • Damn I paid $12.49 more, feel ripped off now.

  • Mate but thr tyres are eqivalent if the bearing dies. I hv changed tge wheels twice.

  • Bought this with two ShopBack deals $(14+3)

  • You can start your own removalist business

  • Thanks for the heads up, bought one online last night, just waiting for the C&C msg to go pick it up, thanks again

  • how do you guys feel about non-pneumatic wheels

    • Solid wheels are a hindrance if the surface you'll be moving over isn't flat, especially for heavy loads.

    • I thought about getting some for a while but after researching the difference decided not to.

      • First, the hard wheels I've seen were (a lot) more expensive than just buying another trolley.
      • Second, I've owned one for years that looks much like this one, only I think I've seen SCA ones and their bottom plate seemed thinner (it was bent/cracked). I figured if I was going to get better wheels, I may as well buy a better trolley at the same time and it could have better wheels.
      • Third, while I do always have to pump the tyres after not using it for a few months, an air-filled tyre is much easier moving over things like aluminum sliding door entrances. One time I rolled a large fridge over the lip of an aluminium sliding door frame after pumping the tyres to the max pressure. Months later I did the same but with the tyres under-inflated (I couldn't find the pump)… and it surprised me how much easier it was. Instead of needing to lift/pull the trolley over, it just rolled over the rather high lip like it wasn't even there.

I forget what the main benefit of having hard tyres was, but I think it was something like moving across sand/gravel. I decided having more control and ease inside the house was more important than once you're out in the yard.

You do have to remember to not over-inflate this type though. Unless you have a pressure gauge to be sure you're not over the rating on the side of the tyres, never try to make the tyres "hard"… the tubes are quite thin so it's easy to blow them out. (After not using it for months you can forget this. Don't ask how I know.) It's better to under inflate - as long as the tyres are staying on the rims, and the sidewalls aren't so low the rim is cutting downwards into the tyre. If they are too low after putting the weight on, I just take it back off and put a little more air in, but so the tyres still have give (bulge) in the sidewall.

    • Inflatable is better - have only moved lighter loads.
