    Who dis?

    • Someone you don’t wanna know

  • how much is it?

    • The first question I'd be asking is, are you in a building that has OptiComm, LBNCo, and OPENetworks? (Highly unlikely for just about everyone)

  • "Applicable on minimum 12-month contracts on OptiComm, LBNCo, and OPENetworks" - So excludes most of the country?

    • Yep, not available to 99.9999% of the population LOL
Normally a $49 connection fee and a 12-month contract on this other infrastructure? Wow, much happier I am on the NBN :)
I've never paid a connection fee and never been on a contract.

Do your research on this ISP before singing up. Just sayin'

Typical evening speeds look very low compared to other ISPs.

    • They don't list their typical evening speeds for the 250 and 1000 plans, which is odd. I thought this was a must now.

      • Yeah it's odd.
They only list for up to 100M, and they are far below what I get now for $10 more a month. Pass.

"As a harbour ISP customer I spent more time on downdetector.com.au than google. They used to be good but in the last 18 months I can't even recall how many outages they have had, their current network appears to be held together by scotch tape, string and the hopes and dreams of their engineers. Do not recommend."

I used to be the only person on OzBargain to praise this ISP - big mistake. Had to call the TIO for the first time in my life to sort out my issue with them; do not recommend at all, if anything I caution it.

  • Is it only for 12 months? And then it reverts or does it continue?

    • They will charge you higher unless you manually go in and change it at 12 months: "at 12 months, the cost will revert to the in-market plan pricing unless you downgrade to the lower speed plan"

  • they have a monopoly on internet access in the housing estates that have been prewired with their fibre. NBN cannot get access to these estates.

    • Sort of but not quite.
Harbour ISP is a retailer, and Opticomm/OPEN/LBNCo are wholesalers. It's the wholesalers who have the monopoly, and there's minimal retailers who choose to sell these products (for various reasons).

  • Hmmmmm…it is $89/month for me 12 months contract for 250/25 code NBN20

That is one ISP you don’t want to experience even if it is the last one on earth. From the point of enrolling (where everything went wrong) and then hours on the phone to even get them to look into issues I cut my losses and left them……horrible ISP with an equally horrible management

  • I live in a Opticomm enabled estate in SE Qld. Have used Leaptel, Exetel and got consistently good speeds. Since it's Opticomm wired, should it have little effect which retailer I use? (I've read the above negative comments about Harbour ISP) … as the deal for 250/25 is very good at $89.99/month with the only catch sign up for 12 months.

(Although for 100/20, Harbour ISP are $79.99/month and Exetel are $69.99/month)
