Can anybody tell me if the desktop is a good deal? Not a computer guy and the measurements look like the case will fit on my desktop

  • +2

    Any good laptop deals?

    • Was wondering this but also thought the question was a bit vague. What are you using it for?

      • +1

Buying it for a niece to use it for school work and gaming. Looking at the around $1500 mark with with 3060, 16gb Ram and 144hz screen. There were few offers in the past. Waiting patiently for a special on it..

  • I don't need usbc, can Dell do Dell S2721QS 27" 4K UHD Monitor for $299.89 again?

  • For anyone who has bought from here before - do they issue invoices immediately? Or do you have to follow them up and chase them for it?

    • +1

They will email you one a day after delivery

      • Does it list the item cost prior to discount?

        • Yes price without ebay discount

        • That’s annoying. No tax write off ?

      • in PDF ?

    • +1

They send it once you receive the delivery.

      • Weird that you have to wait for delivery…

  • The 8950 is cheaper than previous deal in January. I paid $3399 from a scalper.

GPU prices have fallen a long way since then.

  • Mainly dealing with PDFs and spreadsheet for work and I'm currently using an S2721DS which have been great so far but I kinda want to get another monitor for more productivity since my current second screen is my work laptop which isn't that bright.

I've had my eye on the ultrawides for some time but haven't pulled the trigger because I didn't think I needed it (I think I do now with this new job) and I wanted to know how others have felt about a one vertical and one ultrawides set up? Or should I just get another of the same monitor I already have?

    • +2

I run a Samsung 34" ultrawide next to a Dell S2721DGF in landscape as they're the same height and match together nicely. I haven't tried it in vertical because I don't want to rotate it all the time - I generally use the Dell for gaming at 165hz.

It's easy to have 3 or even 4 windows open if I need it - ultrawide as the main screen with 2 side by side, and then the less used stuff onto the 27" to access as needed. I position myself about 2/3rds of the way along my ultrawide and it works well. For context, that ends up being about 1.4m of screen from left to right!

      • That's basically the length of my desk…I probably should've bought a bigger desk. What's your monitor arms set up light? Just two seperate ones?

        • +1

Yep, 2xNorth Bayou F100A - one is the old model and one is the newer one. I prefer 2x single arms over the dual ones as it gives more flexibility.

I have them on a 1.8m Zenspacedesk electric sit/stand desk, works quite well. Both screens plugged into my desktop via DP, then the Samsung connects to and charges my work laptop via USB-C, and I also plug in the Dell via HDMI. I've looked at solutions to take it all back to 1 cable but tbh 2 cables isn't that much of a drag and it's easy enough to switch across my various uses.

  • Will there be any stock of G3223Q tomorrow?

  • Any deals for AW2721D?

  • Any recommendation for office-use sub $2k laptop pls?

  • Do you know how long this deal will run?

Need to return an AW3821DW with a bright pixel that was purchased during the last sale. Finding Dell support too hard to deal with so am going to return and re-purchase. Need to get the current monitor back to them and have the refund issued before I can repurchase as I used gift cards for the original purchase.

    • way too long mate.

    • Finishes today

Any good UHD monitors under 300?

    • Would be interested in this too don't need the 4k panel

      • +1

        See my post below.

Recommended to get the 27 QHD over the 27 FHD.

        QHD recommended for 27" monitors!

    • I know you get the QHD one, but S2721QS can be sub-300 sometimes (last time was 30 Mar this year), but it's not regularly on promo now as I guess they're promoting the S2722QC instead.

  • +1

Just wondering if we can see $1400 aw3423d again

  • Hey OzB, any recommendations on something similar to the U2722DE?
They never seem to have Ultrasharp monitors on their ebay store for these sales…

  • Any deals on the S3221QS ?

    • $479 after coupon seems good pricing in the current climate (yep was 375 on sale last year!!!)
AU $598.75 (before coupon) List Price Was: $829.00 Save AU $230.25 (27% off)

My workspace isn't brightly lit so prefer VA over IPS, don't require USB-C, as I have a dock, contemplating getting two,

  • Anyone know what CPU cooling Dell uses on these XPS 8950 i7-12700k? Just that useless little fan, or tower fan or liquid cooling please?

    • It's a larger fan but it really needs liquid cooling as an option which I can't see that it is. Liquid cooling is available through the Dell website however.

  • Does anybody know whether the invoice lists the cost prior to the 20% or is it the cost after the discount has been applied

    • Prior to discount being applied

  • Anyone have any experience with the S2723HC

  • +2

Any chance of the G3223Q being included in this deal?

    • +1

I have been asking this too. no answer so far

    • +2

This will be available when the promo starts.

  • +2

Hi @dealbot, will you able to ask Dell to add color options on the XPS desktops? A white one will be nice! Thx!

  • If only they shipped to New Zealand. Much cheaper than the Dell NZ offerings.

  • Any opinions on S3222HG?

  • I ended up getting work to get me a U3223QE for home in the end.

Wish I had gotten the previous deal for G3223Q.

    • Do you think G3223Q would have been good for work?

      • more like overkill

        • I get twice as much done in 120hz

          I swear

  • Is G3223Q normal screen display or widescreen display? Thanks

    • normal 16:9 ratio screen

  • Is the XPS 8950 12th Gen good for gaming??

    • +1

It has a 3080 GPU so will handle all current games. The reviews say that the machine does run very hot though due to the shoddy cooler that Dell uses.

      • Thats the biggest issue with these XPS … worry it won't last, so maybe stick with BPC or TF prebuilts safer

        • 4 years of Dell warranty is about $220 so that's one of the main selling points for non-techy people. I am currently WFH using a Dell 8930 that I have had for 3 years and it's not used for gaming but I have had zero issues with it.

      • Thank you! Might have to look at upgrading the cooling system for this one - probably relatively easy; I’m just new to it all haha.
        I appreciate the insight!

  • +1

People who are interested in G3223Q it's not Gsync certified and Gsync might not work correctly

    https://youtu.be/PVyj2ljAtnw

    • Well that sucks

      • I'm on the same boat. Have a 32" 60hz screen. I used to have a 43" Philips monitor and playing games on that was breeeleant, immersive.

Think I'll get an OLED instead and sit further back from the screen.

    • Hmm I'm using gtx 1660 now (yeah I only play league and csgo so can hit 4K 144 Hz on this screen easily lol), received the monitor but haven't installed it yet. Let see what's happening. IMO it's weird when the cheaper G3223D support G-sync and the G3223Q doesn't, even though it's not certified but it should work nonetheless. I'm more about the monitor in the link is faulty or driver/setting shit.

      • Hey man would love it i you can report back. I'm hearing mixed reports but can't find a sigle english review. Some sites say it does, others people on here say it doesn't. Dell own marketing docs make no mention of gsync at all. Some say it black screen and stutter on nvidia. I don't know what to believe.

Yeah as in this reddit post, one person mentioned it's fine with g-sync, while another said it's stuttering. About Dell not mention g-sync, that's normal as many monitors work with g-sync even though it's not certified. Manufacturer send the product to have Nvidia test and certified it, so not certified doesn't always means not working with g-sync.

  • I am getting "Looks like this code isn't ready yet." message

    • +1

      Starts at 10am

    • apologies. just saw that the deal starts at 10AM

  • Best monitor under $300.

    Dell 27 USB-C Monitor - S2723HC FHD 1080p 75 Hz IPS AMD FreeSync vs
    Dell 27 Monitor - S2721DS 75 Hz 2560 x 1440 at 75 Hz AMD FreeSync HDMI

Used mainly for work and casual gaming (Starcraft 2 / Heroes of the storm). Is the higher resolution (for older games) more valuable then the USB-C convenience for work? Anyone to comment??

    • +4

General consensus is that 24" is the largest you would want to go for a FHD monitor. For 27", most would recommend a QHD display.

      • +2

        legend, QHD bought!

    • Others have also commented that the invoice will show the pre-discount price, so probably can't use the instant $300 deduction (even though you paid less than $300)

      • Offft… that’s not good.

      • eBay order receipts are sufficient for tax deductions (but not for claiming GST for a business), which should show the discounted price.
If you're allowed to claim the pre-discount price using the Dell invoice, it could be better for some: it'd mean you get a higher overall tax deduction but spread over 4 years (desktops/monitors).

  • Subjective, but I found these 2 to be decent offerings.
    I picked up the latter.

    RRP AU $2,998.99 Deal $1,999 Alienware x14 Gaming Laptop 12th Gen i7-12700H 16GB RAM 512GB SSD RTX™ 3050 Ti

    RRP AU $4,098.99 Deal $2,899 Alienware x14 Gaming Laptop 12th Gen i7-12700H 32GB RAM 1TB SSD RTX™ 3060

  • Not sure why when I pay with ebay giftcards and the voucher code, when I submit the order I get an error with payment and it asks me to check the payment options.
Happens regularly with these deals… I either have to reorder with the app or reorder and try to put the D20ELL code last but this trick didn't work this time.

    • Can you use eBay giftcard ?

      • yes u can but I was having a problem with paying with them along with the code on firefox.

  • Thanks for the value insight by all, as I'm in need for a OK budget monitor went for Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC looking forward to it arriving towards the end of May….

  • Has anyone use G3223Q with PS5, especially COD - Vanguard? How is it with your experience? Does G3223 support true HDMI2.1 with 48gbps or 24bgbps? Thank you.

    • +1

If you want true hdmi 48gpbs. It will cost you much more than $846 on a 32 inch 4k monitor at the moment

    • +1

Pretty sure that's the most budget option for cheap 4k 120hz monitor…No other competitor right now

      • Yes in 1 to 2 years from now when more competition arrives this monitor would be $700/$750 on special which makes more sense, but there isn't so $850 for now which is actually a good deal

        • +1

In 1 to 2 years probably go for oled monitor rather than lcd one

          • @pq8382: Yes that is also a option 2 years from now. It will more expensive. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend

  • Thanks very much OP; was after 4K+USB C combo.

  • I picked up the XPS 8950 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/393824482772. I'm a little worried about the low output power supply.

    • That's another thing worries me for not getting the XPS, why just use a small 460W Night Sky Bronze PSU with ODD? Will it able to deal with the i7 + the GPU? BTW, what is ODD?

  • G3223Q or AW3821DW? I know it’s almost double the price, so is it worth it getting the AW3821DW over G3223Q?

    • Depends what you like… I myself prefer 16:9 I rather buy 2 G3223qs instead of 1 aw38. There is no right or wrong answer. Ultrawides are not better they are just a preference.

Don't let anyone tell you what to like and what to not like.

  • Would G3223Q be good for a work monitor? I tried an AW3821DW but didn't like how uneven the colour was uneven across the screen. I have also looked at U3223QE but there is a big price difference as it's not on sale.

    • +1

Pretty sure U3223QE have better video quality but G3223Q has great colour accuracy as well. If you do work and gaming I guess G3223Q is pretty much the best option at its price point

  • Hey guys, anyone else getting a "this code can't be applied to your order" error? I'm trying to buy a G3223Q, and can't apply the D20ELL code.

    • +1

It stopped showing it for me for a while on the G3223Q but it's working again now

  • I note the ship date is fair while away for the G3223D.

Can we refund if reviews come in saying it's worse than the gigabyte M32Q?

    • Expected shipping date from Dell deal is usually exaggerated, I joined the last G3223Q deal on 3 Apr, delivered 22 Apr (located in Sydney Inner West). So I think it should be 2-4 weeks in normal case. About refund, it's best to do that before it's shipped (about 7-10 days after ordering). You can also wait till last promo day to order for more time for reviews to come.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689988
Last G3223Q/G3223D deal was 22 Mar, it's last till 4 Apr. So I guess this one will last till the end of Apr. And only G3223Q was sold out before promo end, so you can take your time for G3223D.

      • Awesome thanks. Good suggestion, will wait a bit

  • XPS 15 9520 looks to be in stock, any ideas when XPS 13 9320 is out?

  • Can anyone comment on how the G3223Q is for pc gaming with a 3080gpu? Wanted 32" 4k 144hz for ages but I saw Chinese review of the monitor https://youtu.be/thjPECLG61I 4.30 minutes in he says the HDMI 2.1 ports only do 24Gbps. Would that be a issue at all? I can't find any normal reviews for this monitor so would love some feed back.

    • no influence on pc displayport gaming, only effect on console. If you use hdmi2.1 on pc then there is problem.

      • I just saw that it's not gsync compatible or even certified from a comment above, there's also some reddit threads on this. I really wanted it but no gsync compatability is a big deal breaker. No idea why dell would do that
