Anyone buy Woolies Gift Card last night and still waiting on the gift card to come through? So far have only got the first ‘order confirmation’ email.

    • Bought a shopping card from this website, then used that to buy discounted Woolies card, both came through pretty quickly

    • +2

Same gift card from woolworths hasn’t arrived , only shows order confirmation , but it says can take 48 hours

      • +3

I just called Woolworths and they said they been having some IT issues that they trying to fix and I just need to wait 48 hours because GC hasn’t been issued yet

I mentioned I know of others who placed order after me and have received them already but they had no explanation for that.

        • +1

Yes I’m still waiting from purchasing last night too.
I usually buy them every week and they come through within 10 minutes, so was getting worried. Thanks for the update

          • @Amanda1992: Just to confirm, mine GC from Woolies eventually came through tonight, so took around 24 hours.

      • Came through now

    • I bought last night and just came through now

  • +1

On iOS it worked using Safari, not Brave

  • +1

Worked well - thanks for the post!

  • Worked fine. Paid $115 for $135 gift card, then went to woolies gift cards online and purchased $135 Woolies supermarket card. Enter as credit card purchase.

    • +2

Not the best. You lost 3-5% value.

      • No I didn't. Swapped $135 cash card for $135 Woolies supermarket card….got 100% value!!

        • +1

What Neokia is saying, is that you buy discounted “Woolworths” or other cards with the special card.

    • +1

It would have also worked through cashrewards/shopback to buy gift cards for that extra cash back. I did it for eBay gift cards.

      • Yes but they don't offer Woolies gc.

  • Need to select shopping Special gift card

  • My card is showing loading…..i cant see card details at all.i can only see an expiry date.

  • +2

As dodgy as the OP was breaking the rules, the deal is good and the process was nice. CDC cards also work for extra benefit to those with them.

  • The app is behaving like a real mess for me.

  • I'm thinking of using this to get a shopback super swap card and then convert it to coles for an additional 2% discount. My question is, would I be able to use that converted coles gift card to purchase the current coles mastercard giftcard that gives 2k flybuys points? Thanks..

    • +2

You can, but Coles attendant may refuse if they know your going to use a gift card for a gift card.
Just make sure the gift card has the full amount of your purchase on it, can’t split payment buying gift card (manned or self checkouts).

      • +1

You can split at manned checkouts, I always do that. Not self though.

        • But in some stores they will not allow the use of a GC.

          • @Yola: No store officially allows you to use a GC. That's another issue you have to figure out by yourself.

        • Spot on.

    • You will have more luck asking this in the coles mastercard giftcard deal rather than here. The payment nor what you are paying for is related to this deal.

    • You can. Have the full $105 on the card go to self-service and use the Coles GC when the staff member is not watching. In some stores, they try to stop you.

    • Officially no, but there have been some reports that the new self-service checkouts allow you to buy giftcards with giftcards. Haven't tried it myself.

    • More and more Coles checkouts not allowing this now.

      • It used to be that no checkouts would allow it, there would be a system pop-up to stop it that couldn't be overridden. Then with the new updated self-service checkouts ~6ish months ago, those would.

      • you know that you have to use Apple Pay or Google Pay right.

    • yes

  • Nice, used it to stack with 5% off WISH gift cards I have access to

    • Nice, is that an employer program?

  • Is ShopBack Gift Card page not working? It’s blank for me

    Edit: had to update app

  • I've finished using a Special gift card but it's still showing under my "Active" section. Looking at Special's FAQ it says "Once you have used all the remaining balance of an Special Card, this will then be visible in the “Past” section of the wallet." But this isn't working it would appear.

Is there a way to manually move the spent gift card to the "Past" section?

Super shopper gift card even works at Starbucks 😮. Seems not limited to retail. Chemist warehouse website doesn’t accept it tho.

    • +2

I used mine at BP. Which is not one of the listed retails on Super Shopper.

I got a exclamation mark at first on my phone when I used it to tap to pay. And I was like oh no I need to use a different payment, but when looking at the screen on the handheld payment machine itself it was processing then payment went through.

    • +1

Super shopper gift card even works at special gift cards:)

      • haha that's funny

  • I tried to create a new account using email (Desktop, Chrome). Couldn't do it - the website wouldn't let the process to continue after I put my email in.
It looks like they have a lot of tecnical issues.

    • +2

I figured out that the website didn't like me using VPN just in case someone else has the same issue.
Purchased the $133 super shopper card, turned it into a Woolworths Gift Card, cards emailed immediately. Good deal.

      • Got me sweating, thought I lost 200 bucks

  • +4

I used the super shopper to buy a $135 Amazon gift card. I will always spend at Amazon and means I don't forget to use it/checked it worked straight away.

    • +2

      That's pretty clever.

I wonder how many unused gift card balances are out there, and how many expire because people forget to use them.

      It's a good business model.

    • +1

This, can also use shopback to buy $100, $30 and buy the remaining $5 to buy GC from amazon themselves

      • +3

Buy a $5 Shopback Super Swap instead. Still has 2% cashback like Amazon and you can swap it for a $5 Amazon GC since it's just a Prezzee gift card

  • +1

I got my special gift card and used it on Woolies Gift Card website for a Woolies card at 4% off. The website accepted and order is confirmed but I am yet to actually receive it after 7 hours. Typically only takes 5 minutes for Woolies cards, though it does say up to 48 hours to clear. I wonder if anyone else getting Woolies cards experienced this delay today?

  • Hopefully next time we can buy unlimited cards

  • Nice. $160.41 Woolies for $114

    • +1

      $160.41

If my maths is correct that is almost 20% discount for a Woolies GC. How did you score that?

      • +4

They spent $114 to buy a $134 Shopper card (Card A). Then they created a second account and paid for a second Shopper card to the value of $154 and paid $134 for it using the initially purchased Card A. So a $114 spend buys a $134 face value card which is used to buy a $154 face value card. That $154 card is then used to purchase WW gift cards at a 4% discount from whichever platform they are using giving a $160.41 WW GC for an initial outlay of $114.00

        • High value cards tend to attract unnecessary attention and if anything went wrong you will suffer greater loss. I think it is safer to leave a bunch of cards with about $100 inside and cash them out at Woolies self checkout.

          • @truetypezk: I'm assuming you're referring to doing cashout from the Super Shopper prepaid mastercard and not Woolworths e-gift cards at Woolies self checkout… So I just need to buy something from Woolies then can cashout the rest of the Super Shopper card? Can it give cashout including coins e.g. $92 or can it only give notes e.g. $90 and $2 left on the card?

            • +1

@Alinnia: No they mean 'cash it out' as in buy stuff with the credit. You can't get cash out from Coles/Woolies without a physical card.

            • @Alinnia: Cash out as in move the money out of special gc control.

        • +2

I think they closed that loophole already (use special gc to buy special gc). Tested it this morning on Edge, and Firefox, also normal ones and incognito windows as well. None of them are working anymore.

          • @ja912son: Yeah, I noticed it last night. Went to try a third card with the second for a triple stack and it wouldn't go through.

            • +1

@daanish: Lol gotta be quick. Actually it doesn't really matter since the stacking basically just reduces the amount of cash you need to move out of their system. It really doesn't matter to the company if you buy it with a special gc or a credit card, they are still losing the same amount of money per purchase.

            • +1

@daanish: Not sure why you got negged.

Do you happen to remember the exact error message?

              • +1

@DoctorCalculon: I made a similar comment about this earlier in the thread and copped some negs there too. Maybe someone is just morally against stacking deals or they got it to work again but didn't feel like actually commenting to say that said experience was not shared by them.

To your question though, I believe it was "Ooops something went wrong with your payment" or something very similar to that. I confirmed that I didn't get charged on the card and checked details then tried it again but kept running into the same issue. In the end I just paid with my CC.

          • @ja912son: That's pretty fast. Did you try it with ApplePay?

            • @truetypezk: Nah, mate.
I'm using an Android phone. But oddly, checkout process didn't give me the option to use Google Pay

              • @ja912son: ApplePay used to work, I burnt some midnight oil on Friday and managed to cash out everything before the apocalypse. The check out assistant was a little suspicious about the bunch of $100 payments I made but didn't give me any troubles. Had enough fun and not going to touch this again.

                • -1

                  @truetypezk:

I burnt some midnight oil on Friday and managed to cash out everything before the apocalypse

What apocalypse are you referring to? Are we about to be all turned into zombies from COVID-19?

You keep using the words "cash out". There is no cash out with these Special GCs.
You can try adding funds to your Revolut account via Apple Pay. It won't work with Super Shopper as they closed that loophole from the very start.

bunch of $100 payments I made but didn't give me any troubles

None of their business how you pay, as long as you pay.

I am not seeing the bargain angle ("bargain maximisation") with your multiple $100 payments.

                  • @DoctorCalculon: I am referring to the no-more-free-and-easy-money apocalypse. Also heard some already their accounts suspended.

I loosely used the word cash out to refer to getting the money out of their control so they can't suspend you and forfeit your profits.

The moral of the story is if you wanna do something funny, do it early and fast.

As for multiple payments, it is always a big red sign of fraud and the business is exposed to credit card chargeback risk. Of course for a Woolies check out assistant that would be overly zealous.

                • +1

                  @truetypezk: @truetypezk @daanish @ja912son

My method is still working as of now. See here

                  • @I Smell Pennies: @I Smell Pennies….. How is this method still working .. could you please elaborate as I tried to buy another gift card using the special shopper gift card but it is giving an error…. What payment method do I have to use as it only gives option of Google pay or the CC… no other and how do we use APPLEPAY for the payment….

                    • @ARUN365: ApplePay shows as a payment option for me on the Special website (mobile).

                      • @wavesgreen: Yes that’s correct. You need an Apple phone to use Apple Pay. From what I can see, Apple Pay is the only way to use a Special Gift Card to buy another Special Gift Card (maybe Google Pay too, idk)

Just apply the code “APPLEPAY” to get 15% off in the promo/discount box when checking out

  • I put the promo code but it did not give the 15% off even though it said applied!!
How can I get in touch with them??

  • +1

how i wish i got tons of burner mobile number now

  • +2

Super shopper can also repay Zip.

    • I am getting the error: "We're sorry, we found a problem. Mind trying again in a few minutes?"

      • Did you use Apple Pay? I had two super shopper and both worked.

        • I have went into Zip app -> Zip Pay -> Make a payment -> Other amount -> Payment methods -> Add payment method -> input the card details.

I have updated my Zip app but there is no option for adding payment method via Apple Pay. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Thanks OP! Bought a $135 card just then for $115.
Now to work out what to spend that on! haha!

  • +1

We need more companies like this

  • Anyone face issue use promo code. I am getting error says "promotion code is already used"??

    • Did you create a second account with the same mobile number as the first account?

      • nope, my first account. Can same number create second account?

        • You can, but the promo code will not work if it was redeemed by the first account.

          • @DoctorCalculon: My number shouldn't be used for this site before. I try to contact their support tomorrow..

  • I tried creating accounts with one of those burners mobile number on the net. Worked for the code, but still couldn't use the code again. Looks like it's IP logged?

    • +3

      Looks like it's IP logged

Doesn't seem to be an issue for me.

one of those burners mobile number on the net

      Link handy?

    • +2

Someone else might have burnt the burner before you did:) The app won't prevent you from registering a duplicate phone number, just won't allow you to use the code again.
