Just received an email from Apple for Mothers Day Apple Pay perks advertising Special.com.au. Save 15% (up to $20) with promo code APPLEPAY.

Looks to be once per customer.

Special cards are digital gift cards locked to a category and you can send to someone via email or sms. Then they can add to their mobile wallet Apple or Google Pay.

    Oh well didn't work for me, attempted payment on PC through Firefix using Amex, pending charge on card but still stuck on payment screen. The swirling circle has stopped so I guess that implies it won't proceed — and neither will I. Fingers crossed pending value simply goes away later.

    Edit: For everyone's reference, I was going for the "Shopping" card.

      Same thing happened to me. Stuck on payment screen with no purchase confirmation. Nothing appearing in my orders. No email received.

      I have 2x pending charges in my credit card.

      Was also going for the shopping card. Perhaps it is “out of stock”?

        I realised I have ad blocks on my Firefox so maybe I should have used my cleaner Chrome browser, though at the same time I find it pretty unsettling to charge (or attempt to charge) a card yet leave no footprint on what was processed. Hopefully my issue along with others here can help identify the cause.

          I can confirm that it isn't due to ad blocks.

          I tried once on my PC - using the 'Brave' browser - I entered credit card details - didn't work - charged card

          I then downloaded the iOS App from the AppStore, logged in with the account I had created already on the PC, and went through the whole thing again. This time during 'Submit' I didn't enter card details, but used 'Apple Pay' on my phone.

          Same thing - didn't work. Stuck on payment screen - even on the app. Card has been charged again.

          2x pending charges now on my card.

        Looks like they've fixed the glitch now.

        My 2x pending charges have been refunded and then I tried again via the App - and the purchase was successful.

        I can also confirm that the code is once only per customer. I tried to purchase again (after receiving the first purchase) and it says that I have already used the code.

      Its basically a prepaid master card, you can just enter the details manually (or the employee can) like you would if a card wasn't reading properly.

      Download the special.com.au app on google play and log in using the same account login details. Then navigate to the cards section and you will find your card number and . Bit of work but it’s all there

    dont do it on desktop best you install app first. i tried 4 times now pending charges on amex. installed app tried a 5th time very trouble some with bugs but managed to add 1 to google wallet. hope they refund the other 4.

    Bought for myself and wifey, both transactions went through relatively smoothly, received the cards almost instantly (make sure you check your junk box if you don't see it). Paid using AMEX via Edge browser. Added both cards to Apple Wallet via 'Special Gift Cards' app (just released around two months ago on App Store) and are ready to use. $40 free money all up, happy as Jan!

    What works for me was download the app and purchased via the app and apply the coupon and had it send to my number, open the link, register a pin and I could see it on the app.

    I got the tech head card and immediately used it to load my nintendo account, works fine.

    Everyone who didn't get there's, after you buy it you can click "Manage Your Orders" which you can see your orders, for some reason I bought my 1st GC earlier but it was only scheduled at 2:40PM. Check if yours says "Scheduled" or "Delivered" if it's on "scheduled", check the time that which it was "scheduled" for. https://ibb.co/NYWsnnN

    Paid using apple pay and charged me full amount even though showing disc amount on order page. My mistake not checking amount charged on confirmation pop up but i did check the order page ….

    Tried again without applepay (using manual cc details) and it works..

        if you login to the account with the special gift card on your laptop/desktop, you can click on the gift card (manage) -> choose the option spend online/grab your card details -> shop happily
