    • I was charged $134 for a $134 value gc, applied the code. No deal

Worked for me. Got a virtual credit card number, used that to buy a discount Woolies card. ~18% discount lol.

  • +6

Worked for me. I bought ShopBack Super Swap cards and swapped them for Amazon gift cards. Presumably will get 2% back too

    • +1

Smartest play here or go to current Coles / Woolies gift card discount deals and buy them in store .

    • Where can you buy the shopback gcs? I can't find it anywhere on the site

      • +3

Once you have the gift card, it is a virtual mastercard (like a credit card, with expiry and cvv number)

You can then use this on the shop back app for Shopback Super Swap gift cards.

        • Oooooh I didn't see that thanks, was trying to find a way to get it from GPay but it is in their special app, thanks!

        • But cant this card be used at only certain retailers like aldi, woolworths etc ?

          • +2

@Matty3031: Special gift cards are prepaid gift cards that operate on the Mastercard network and work at retailers that fall within specific Merchant Category Codes (MCCs).

The issue is that Special are not transparent with the specific MCCs that are permitted for each type of Special gift card, so it is hard to understand the MCCs where a Special gift card should and shouldn’t work. The list of retailers on each Special gift card page is a list of featured retailers (not participating retailers).1 The more important thing to look at is the text box under the retailer search box. For example:

            • The Super Shopper Card can be used at shopping retailers Australia-wide.

            • The Chill Seeker Card can be used at spa & massage retailers Australia wide.

            • The Fine Foodie Card can be used at every restaurant, whether it’s 5-stars or drive-thru Australia-wide.

            • The Latte Lover Card can be used at coffee shops & cafes Australia-wide.

That should give you an indication of which MCCs may be permitted, but it is only an indication. For example, if you look at the ANZ document I linked earlier, there is not one specific group of “retail” MCCs, which is why I am having a hard time working out which MCCs are permitted and which are not for the Super Special gift card. I suspect some gift card portals (e.g. Shopback, Lifestyle Rewards) somehow fall within one of the “retail” MCCs, but don’t ask me which one(s)!

I should also mention that if even if you go to a retailer with a permitted MCC, that retailer can still choose to not accept it for whatever reason.

            1. If a Special gift card was limited to a specific list of retailers (similar to TCN or Ultimate gift cards), there would be a clearly defined list of participating retailers, where Special would have reached out to each of these retailers and reached an their agreement on their involvement before launching the gift card. Instead, we only have a vague list of featured retailers.

@WookieMonster: I had once used Revolut for a Shopback purchase and it was categorized as a 'Restaurants' transaction. Moreover I had been purchasing Night out gift cards from Woolies to trigger my weekly rewards bonus points offers and these work on restaurants. So I tried these at Shopback and ditto they work (although sometimes gives inexplicable errors) so Shopback should have one of the Night out card's eligible MCCs

              • @sub102: Normally gift cards don't trigger weekly reward bonus points, so Night Out is an exception?
Is it possible to purchase a Night Out gift card using a Wish egift card?

                • +1

@Alinnia: You can't use gift cards to buy it but it has been doing the job for me regarding weekly offers. I think since it is kind of new to Woolies they haven't coded it to not trigger so yeah an exception

    • Good one! Didn't even think of that….

  • +5

Got an email directly from apple with this offer so it’s legit. Bought a GC and saved as a virtual card in apple wallet - no issues.

  • It worked for me, exchanged for an amazon gift card straight away

    • How did u do this

      • +1

Treat the gift card as a regular visa/Mastercard and use the card number to purchase an Amazon gift card

      • Yup, as Avo said!

  • +7

Charged 5 times cos I proceeded with payment multiple times yet no confirmation . I have to ring bank now

  • +6

Didn't read the comments before made purchase, luckily everything works fine and bought the amazon giftcards instantly.

In case not obvious for some, you don't need to use Apple Pay to get the discount, I just use my credit card with the promo code APPLEPAY and it works

    • For me it was code APPLEPAY…

      Pay with Google pay lol

  • +3

Also did not work… charged but stuck on payment page

    • It looked stuck, but seems to be ok after a min..maybe you're using mobile data, which can be finicky in some spot?

  • Worked for me and exchanged for EB Games gift card. Thanks OP!

    • LOL If you followed what I said you'd have 20% in flybuy points on top of the 15% :)

      • Meh, was more worried about there being issues with the giftcard so went quick through with redeeming it. Only got 135 bucks worth anyways so no biggie but thanks for the heads up though

      • My flybuys points from that purchase still haven't shown up. Makes me wonder if I can return those giftcards.

        • When did you buy the gift cards from Coles?

          • @WookieMonster: 2 days ago. Do you know how much time it normally takes?

            • +1

@ChillBro: Flybuys points earned from eligible purchases at Coles is usually loaded onto your account around 5pm Sydney time on the day after the transaction. However, it is not unusual for points to take two or three days to be credited to your account.

There is actually no firm timeframe or deadline for points to be loaded on a Flybuys account. Flybuys’ FAQs merely state:

Points collected with most of our major retail partners will be added to your account usually within one or two days. For other partners, you may need to allow a week or so, and for bonus point promotions the time will vary - please check the terms and conditions of the relevant promotion.

My suggestion is that you contact Flybuys if the points don’t show up by 5pm or 6pm Sydney time today.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Good idea, might do just that. Was thinking of giving them a bit more time since a lot of people are taking leave around this time of the year but the process should be automated.

  • +2

I have contacted them on support as my account is showing no order yet my credit card has been charged. Disappointing.

  • got one, no idea how the gift card works.

    • +2

It's just a virtual credit card so you should be able to use it just about everywhere online. If you want to use it in store, you'll need to add it to Apple/Google Pay.

  • +2

Worked - purchase $135 shopping card and then purchased 3% ebay GC @ Shopback = 16.8% discount nb, nb
Check your junk mail, don't activate GC with Firefox - there's a huge memory leak on the page…

  • +1

Actually triple stacker 1) this 2) $100 Coles MC 3) Next discount card target :)

  • +1

Got charged twice and no code… wth

  • Be patient - it will arrive :) I was worried - took about 10 mins.

Hi Store Rep- Since you are online, can you address the issue reporting here?

    • Nah they are banned.

    • Store Rep got banned for this post

Mod not at the bottom of the OP:

The OP did not declare their association initially. The account and store is banned

    • There is no store rep. The company is free to respond in this thread if they wish.

      • Yup… will be disputing the charge with Amex

Raised a ticket. Hope they respond soon.

      • +3

Edit: Promply responded, resolved and refunded

  • Im stuck on creating an account ugh

    • Did you ever get the SMS code? Mine's not coming through!

  • Scammed and yeah I have a ticket… doesn’t even show I have ordered anything in my account. I blocked my used credit card via Apple Pay. Should have listened to my gut feeling.

  • -1

Disputing now as we speak. Using Suncorp credit card.
I paid using my apple ipad and my android phone multiple times. Perhaps it could be because I didn’t use my pc?

    • Used PC and didn't get the card.

  • Charged once and got the card delivered to my junk folder within 30 seconds.

    • Created account with Apple account, sent to email, clicked the Apple Pay button at checkout on iPhone. Order confirmation straight away and have transferred it to bezos dollars fine. Nice

  • Try sending it to your mobile number instead of your email - mine got sent in seconds! Let me know if that works.

  • +1

Couldn’t create account on safari on iPhone.
    Used chrome on a laptop.
    Created account.
    Got charged.
    Page still showed “submit payment”
Order not showing on the website.
    No email received yet.
    =\

    • +1

Submitted a support ticket on their website and Amelia emailed asking for some info and then they sent another email saying they refunded the charge and “If you would still like to take advantage of our great offer you can make your purchase again using your APPLEPAY discount code!”

Charge no longer shows up on my credit card.

Gonna try again after reading all the comments to know what browser is best

      • Tried using the app and paid using Apple Pay and it worked.

  • I just wonder how the mods discovered that the op is associated? I'm soooooooo curious!

    • +2

Sarah joined Ozbargain a few minutes before she’s posted the deal.

      • -2

        So. What?

What is this bs ridiculous moderation and hand holding?

Mods are pretending as if she pretended to be an ordinary citizen advertising the site. She could very well be a random who made an account and wanted to share this since deal is pretty nice

  • +2

$135.00 card, discounted down to $115.00 - purchased using Crypto.com 2% cashback card, down to $112.70 - used it to buy $135.00 worth of 2% Amazon GCs on Shopback, down to $110.45! pretty good

everyone saying they don't have it, if you used Gmail check your promotions folder

    • +1

i used it to buy $140.61 wollies giftcards with RAC 4% discount.

    • Not there in promotion folder either

    • whch card did you buy and how did you use at shopback?

      • +1

        the "Shopping" card

  • Bought and got it almost immediately

  • Charged twice - nothing appearing in my orders.

Is the charge just "holders" or have I actually been charged twice?

Will I now need to go to my credit card company to dispute the 2 charges?

    Edit:

I tried once on my PC by entering credit card details, and then again on mobile phone using Apple Pay. Both times it gets charged and just stays on the "Submit" page with no confirmation of order.

  • +1

Ok thanks for clarifying. But what about the poster of this deal? She’s in the penalty box.

        • OP claims they are not associated as per this post thus they won't be able to answer questions.

Reps have been in contact with us and will answer questions shortly.

            @neil:

OP claims they are not associated

Why is OP's account disabled soon after posting? Due to their own choice or flagrant violation of OzBargain rules?

            • @DoctorCalculon: Disabling an account is a function that is available to all users and is located in My Account - Edit - Deactivate Account. It is a function only used by the individual user.

    • +1

      1

      • How does it get limited to one? Is it based on your email, credit card, device you purchase from, mobile number, etc?

        • I used the same device, private browser, but everything else was different for my 2 and no issues.

  • Can this be used to buy apple cards to be used on education store?
It can be used as a normal credit card right?

    • +1

It's a Mastercard so yes. Best to use it to buy apple gift cards when there is a reward points promo at the major retailers to get the best bang for your buck
