[WA] iPhone 11 64GB $34.86/Month, 128GB $41.52/Month on Optus 20GB Choice Plus Plan $22.50/Month for 12 Months @ Optus

810

Optus is currently running an iPhone 11 deal (Save $430.56 off RRP $848.88)

Sign up using the steps mentioned in this deal

Says customers living in eligible WA Postcodes only, but the real MVP in the comments says you can just enter a WA post cost to get to the order page then punch in your real address

If you stay with Optus for 12 months, the total should be $688.32 (The SIM plan ($22.50 x 12 months) + Device repayment ($34.86 x 12 months))

If you decide to terminate the contract in the first month (not recommended strategy)

Info copied from @HomeAlone on the Samsung Galaxy A8 Tab:

The minimum term for a Month-to-month Data Plan is 1 month so you are free to cancel that at any time, but you will still be stuck with the 12 Month Device Payment Plan.

Min. cost $835.50 includes device payments over 12 months with one month discounted device fee and one month of your discounted plan fees.

The minimum cost shown is calculated based on staying connected to the Month-to-month plan for the 1 month minimum term.

Full device cost + 1 month discounted plan fee - 1 month device discount

$848.88 + $22.50 - $35.88 = $835.50

The deal is not as good as the recent Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 for $0/Month but it’s an iPhone deal atm

    WA only?

    • +3

Nope, just enter any WA postcode to go through the checking eligibility but can enter your own postcode at checkout

      • I had some reading in the original post and someone said there will be a call from Optus to confirm your WA resident address. I will keep an eye on how you guys doing and if anyone outside of WA got the phone/plan successfully.

  • +1

That’s a sweet deal considering the phone is $900ish on its own

  • New port-in services only in eligible WA postcodes.

    • +1

I managed to go all the way to the final step at checkout using an ACT postcode

      • How about delivery of the SIM card?

        • +2

It’ll be delivered to the address entered at checkout, it doesn’t have to be a WA postcode to take up this offer :)

      • I can add the plan with WA code but when I adding the device to the cart I can’t find that 50% discount option. Then I forced to choose $45 plan with out discount. How did you manage to go to check out. Btw I am from Melboure.

        • +1

I chose the phone under the Vkew Phones & Plan, and I selected the iPhone and the half price sim > Keyed in 6000 as the postcode and hit checkout

The phone and half price plan look to be still available for me tho

  • +2

wow I thought the total cost is like $418.32 including plan

    • Sorry haha, I’ve fixed the title up

  • Sorry you are not eligible for this offer.

    • New and exisiting customers can take up this offer

      • Not for me, I am in VIC.

        • +1

Any postcodes work mate, just have to enter a WA postcode at the checking eligibility stage, but enter your full address at checkout

          • @BargainsGrabber: Ok , thanks.

          • @BargainsGrabber: I'm actually going to purchase two of these plans for both my kids — you dont' think that since I bypassed the WA postcode check that they won't honour their plan once they realize I'm in VIC?

            • @pongky: I took the samsung A8 deal and they called me for verification. Dunno if they would do the same. Kinda annoying spending 20 mins to validate info i entered before.

              • @Bargain-er: Did they say anything about your address not being in WA?

  • +2

Being an eSim does tht mean you cant swap sim out to another device?

If I want to give phone to family member but keep sim on my own seperate phone, as they dont need the data.

    • It gives the choice to order a traditional sim or e-sim.

    • You can add the esim to any compatible phone.

  • +9

you can add on another 25% on top as existing customer, so it’s better off with $55/m 80GB plan which will comes down to $20.63/m for plan :)
and, instead of iPhone 11, you can choose ZTE A71 5G for just $3/m for 12 months (total cost is $278.64 for handset).
    all together is only $23.63/m for 12 months aka $283.56 for ZTE A71 5G + 80GB/m :))

    • +3

      The real MVP here
But iPhones hold its value over time than any Android phones

      • not much with iPhone 11 tbh, better off with plan only and buy whatever handset outright :)

        • +7

But iPhone 11 128gb for $498 is not too bad either.

    • +2

you can add on another 25% on top as existing customer

      How do you that?

      • get a prepaid sim pack and activate to have an account if you don’t, then go through this deal to have extra 25% off plan fee as an existing customer:)

        • I'm an existing customer and don't see any 25% off discount - I think that is what HomeAlone is asking.
Is there a way you can do this via the web or do you need to ask on webchat or something?

          • +2

@gtrain: log out from Optus first if you use web browser, then go through the process and you can click to choose as new customer/existing customer:)

        • +3

How are you able to add this 25% "on top" of this deal? I'm an existing customer and while I can get the 25% discount, it takes the Medium $55 plan down to $41.25. How exactly are you getting this down to $20.63/m? What have I missed as I'm keen to get this for the Mrs?

    • 25% off as an existing, wow — how do we jump on that? the system will know if you're already an existing optus number when going through checkout?

      • +1

Just tried it right now — it works! There is an option to say "new" or "existing" and going through the existing process there is an option to simply "add" the 25% discount for existing customers

        • When do you see the option for the extra 25% off? im nearly at checkout and it still hasnt showed up :(

          • @AlterCheapo: it is no longer possible to stack it, you can only have 50% off

            • @cariDisc: Thanks for the update. This is what makes an ozbargainers heart break…

  • +1

    I was offered this deal
    http://optus.com.au/iphone11save
Can choose any plan and pay for the 128gb phone $13.84 per month for 36 months.
I ended up not taking the offer as the plan I have now is much better than any current plan.
Also the iPhone 11 offered is not the pro version.
Instead I bought a second hand iPhone pro max under 600 on marketplace.

  • +1

Lets say one can get around the address check which some mentioned they can't in the original deal. How do I add the iPhone to the plan?

  • Interesting, great deal however I worry about the WA postcode.

  • What would the full etc be if you didn't want to be on Optus?

    • +2

If you cancel in the first month?

Full device cost + 1 month discounted plan fee - 1 month device discount

      $848.88 + $22.50 - $35.88 = $835.50

May as well just buy from Big W for $749 in that case.

      • Yeah your device would be locked though?

        • +1

AFAIK iPhones are not network locked.

  • I'm already an Optus customer. As I don't need a 'new' service I have to port out to take advantage by porting back in?

    • No, if you sign up as an existing optus member you actually save 25% off the monthly service fees (not device fees) but it's nice that they reward you for being a customer already

    • Yes, you'll need to port out as there's no option to upgrade your existing service.

  • Is this a decent deal for someone looking to get an Apple product that has a decent camera? Mrs starting Amazon live which is only available on Apple. Amazon said some Android users just get an ipod touch but it looks like their camera tech is very old.

  • +3

    iPhone 12 and I will buy 1.

  • Anyone had their Tab A8 order processed from the previous deal? Mine is still pending

    • I received them yesterday.

    • same as the other guy, just received it yesterday

    • Mine is also still pending

    • My order status is still "Submitted".

    • Mine will be delivered today.

    • Received it yesterday

    • 👍 Mine came 10 minutes ago.

    • So, it's happening. At least for some…
Was not sure if it will be a mass cancellation

      • I got a call to verify my info. All g at the end but a bit wasting time. Anyone got a call as well? Thanks

    • I just picked mine up from Aus Post bc I wasn’t around when they delivered yesterday

  • Will get cheaper and cheaper. If you need one get it. Still going strong with my iPhone 7 and just got another free battery replacement. If the battery health is under 80% within a year, you get a new one at Apple.

    • +3

Within 2 years of purchasing the device. Sadly, mine dropped to 84% within 10 months but then remained on 84% for the next 14 months so Apple wouldn’t replace mine. That was for a 2020 SE.

      • +1

That’s bad luck. I had it now twice after 11 months dropping to 79%. I think apple has to swap it for free and it’s not their goodwill. It’s a consumer affairs rule.

  • They offered me 50% off when I called the sales team about my A8 tablet

    • This must be the upcoming deal that day you called the sales team

      • Maybe. They said 50% over the phone but if I decide it later it will be 25% 😳

        • The current offer is 50% off data plan, and free a8 tab with 12/24/36mth plan.

  • +2

But it's Optus. Coverage is crap! I'm in the Sydney Metro area and i had to stand outside to get reception. No thanks.

    • +1

I’m in Whoop whoop and I’m happy with it. 4 hours north from Adelaide. There are some black spots here but same with Telstra.

  • How would I stack with cash rewards if I get another phone on the 50% off plans

  • Also, if I have a friend who wasn't an Optus customer and wanted to port in would I be able to get the extra 25% off by saying they're an existing Optus customer but put in new details in checkout?

  • Is it possible to delay the commencement date of plan? My current plan ends in 3 months.

    • Just chatted with them about this exact question they said they can only push out 1 month from today - so 28 May

      • Cheers

        • from what I calculate their early termination fee is half of the monthly cost per month, so I'm also canceling early by 3 months and they're charging me one month's plan fee so it's not too bad… AND, if you chat with them nice enough they can offset that by giving you a 10% off your plan rates… but remmeber I didn't qualify for the 50% off one but still is a good deal for me overall

  • Samsung Galaxy A13 for $18 (total) on a plan for Android fans.

  • So this is like $57 a month x 12 = $684.
Is this worth it for a 30 month old model? Would the IPhone SE be better?

    • Screen and face id matters.

  • Having issues getting the additional 25% off, not appearing. Any ideas? Already have an optus service

  • I'm chatting with them trying to get the 50% off but they say it's only for port-in new numbers so that's out the window — anyone else have any luck? I'm in VIC and can't qualify for the 25% either becuase that's also for a new line / number to add to your account

  • +1

I had the 25% in my cart and now can't seem to get it back

  • just ordered Iphone11 128 for 12 month and 70G plan. Do not forget cash rewards!

    • +1

how do you use cash rewards with the discounted plan link?

  • can someone please clarify for me - I’m currently on a plan with Optus (no min term, can exit immediately) am I eligible for this deal?

I cant seem to get it working online.

    • port out and port back in?

      • Thanks, little annoying but I’m currently paying $55/month so probably worth the hassle

    • I think you can by choosing you are an existing customer. Just try and if you don't get it you don't get it.

Remember you need a WA postcode to kick off the process but can use your own address. Some did report they were rejected….

  • Could not see I phone 11 at chack out only 12 months plan
Any body has this problem ?

    • +1

I asked that question too, Thank god I wasn't the only one who cant see it LOL!!

When you start there is two tabs, one is plan only and one is with phone.

  • Will this phone be locked to Optus?

    • Good question, I'm taking a guess here that it will be unlocked as this is usually the case. Can someone please clarify?

    • unlocked
