Does this work with the dine and discover vouchers?

    • Yes, it worked for me for the last deal, and when I asked yesterday about their always-on bonuses (load $50/get $20), they said any currency works.

Note that if you have 2 Discover Vouchers under your name, you will only be able to redeem one. Something about a limit of vouchers per person, per day, per business? Maybe get your family/friends to chip in.

    • +2

Can you redeem vouchers via online or apps?

      • Instore only

    • That one only valid for transaction on Mon-Thu only? This one is going to be on Sat.

  • +1

Thanks, OP. Been waiting for this!

  • +1

is it one day to buy the double credits AND one day to spend?

    • +3

nope, you can spend the credits whenever you like. I wait for this offer to come around every few months and load up and then go play arcade at my leisure.

      • awesome thanks!

    • +1

Nah you can load up and use the credit later (no expiry as long as card is used at least once every 12 months).

  • -2

when games are $4+ a pop these days, yeahno.

    • +29

I practice day and night on SF IV and Tekken 6 on my home console so I can hog their timezone machines all day on $1.10 per play. I am 46 years old.

      • +3

You keep getting older, but Chun Li keeps staying the same age, hehe.

      • +2

i miss the old days of cigs on joysticks and new challengers popping 60 cents on the screen.

        • Ah yes, the youth I spent doing things I weren't supposed to.

Now I'm telling my son not to do them. 😅

          • @PoKGuy: My dad is 50 and we all tell him the same, mum especially..

      • I guess you can save your power bills that way

Gone are days people gather around those and have competition

        • No, i just like to show off to kids a third of my age

    • +1

I was at their Top Ryde store last weekend and most games that my kids played were around $2-$2.50. I thought it was quite reasonable actually compared to Easter show or fair prices. Even better when we combined it with an offer of $60 for $100 credit and used two discover vouchers so it was only $10 out of pocket. Worked out to be only $0.20-0.25 per game for us.

      • We personally know a fair few people got covid from timezone top ryde. So yeah I know its great for fun just prepare for the health risks

  • +1

went there recently. was so much fun, games are only $2.20 so will be $1.10, not bad for a game that can last 5-10 mins and get some tickets

    • +5

What game lasts that long and pays tickets? It's like 10 to 20 seconds per game. Most if not all ticket games will time out.

      • +1

some of them keep going if you pass the levels, anyway it was worth it

      • +1

If you play the connect 4 game its 100% 50 tickets the winner and 20 tickets for the losers $2.20 (non-vip) each player.

        • -1

Too little return. I need to average 100-150 tickets per $1

          • @kyle: Are you standing in front of the ticket claw game lol…

            • @Sheng: Nah, you'll find me at Quick Drop, Crazy Tower…

              I do miss Cyclone

              • @kyle: Crossy road is good too

                • @Hugoz: That's one game I'm never good with, along with flappy

              • @kyle: The bottle game give me that amount of tickets
The rest of the games are just so so

  • I assume they still haven't fixed up the need to have a power card ( only obtainable from physical visit to a TimeZone ) and can't just load up on the app ?

    • Was gonna ask the same thing! Seems you have to go in and get a physical card which is shame

    • +1

Correct you need an existing powercard in order to load up from the app

  • Last time I went to timezone someone gave me 1k tickets cause the didn't want anything and the card was a Blue elite so VIP prices as well.

  • +14

I want to love timezone and the like, but there are just too many "ticket" style machines, which are basically grooming children for gambling. Even more so when most machines have payouts based on input monetary quotas under the guise of skill.

RIP the days of lock ins, the sprawling arcades with high scores being the incentive for playing, questionable people lingering at the back of the arcade and the childhood magic of CRT illumination 🥰

    • The tickets add to the excitement. Not everyone is into video games.

    • Not sure why your were neg, but since timezone took over from our local tunazfun. It's pretty much ticket games and very little of the standard arcade games. I think tickets are a easy money maker.

      • +1

Opposite for me, I hated tunzafun, they only had ticket games. Now it's timezone they have driving games (cruis'n blast with motion is awesome!) Shooting games, rhythm games and even a pinball machine. It's a bonus that tickets are saved to a card so it's easier to save up. Coupled with Costco gift card and 50% bonus, I actually have fun at the arcade again after 20 years of crap.

  • Can we load credit and then use it for Time Play which is $28 per hr? If yes, this will be like 50% off on time play.

    • +1

no, its not valid, only pay as you go

  • Can the credit be used in Kingpin for Bowling?

    • +1

Yep, globally at any Timezone, Zone Bowling or Kingpin

      • Great. Thanks for letting me know.

      • I was told over the phone by a staff member, that's it's not valid for bowling or laser tag.

        • If the venue has a card reader on laser tag then it can be used. Bowling would usually only be the shorter lane bowling, again with a card reader in it.

          • @PG57: Might be a stupid question, but can you add a Kingpin card to your Timezone app and load money onto it? And then get double credits by loading up on Saturday?

            • @Sambuca: Hey yep you can add any existing branded (Zone, TZ, KP) cards you have to your Timezone Fun App. You can then load money onto it both ways - in store or online through the app, Hope that answers your question.

              • @PG57: Answered perfectly. Thank you!

    • Can anyone confirm? Last time I asked a few months ago the CSR said it wasn't possible.

      • Sorry I wasnt very clear, only the short lane bowling with a card reader attached.

    • You can use it for the arcade games at Kingpin, not for bowling

  • +2

Great. I end up blowing this on the WIlly Wonka ticket machine. Usually wind up with about 15,000 tickets after I'm done.

    • i used one at top ryde when they had there valentines day double load up and for some reason it was giving 50 coins per swipe, needless to say i emptied my card on it

    • In other fields people like you that don't understand odds feed me well :)

      • +2

I assume you mean gambling, but meh. I got a Nintendo Switch OLED playing the game over a few weeks paying $200 for $400 in credits. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal.

  • Can I top up my King Pin card at Timezone? It does say "Timezone" at the back, so I assume I can use it at their arcades.

    • Yes…they are the same….

  • +19

Far better - Time to OzBargain this bargain :

    • Head to costco beforehand on the day. Pick up a $50 credit voucher for $39 the load up in store to get $100.
    • Then get a receipt and send it into the entertainment program. So $100 loaded would get you $200 credit, but only cost you $53. ($39X2 - $25)
    • But don't head to TZ, head to King Pin - If you head there they have a big wheel that you get to spin every $100 loaded. Last time I loaded up $200 of vouchers, got $400 credit, paid only $156 and won a free double pass for bowling (Approx $40) and a soft toy (Approx $10).

Now that is how to ozbargain… :)

    • +4

This is sorcery! You must've been a Merlin! Thank you

    • +1

      What is the entertainment program?

      • +3

        Google Victorian Entertainment Program.

    • Only king pin remaining is the one in Crown?

      • +1

        10 Kingpin's across AU & NZ

        • Thanks, I meant for VIC as the entertainment program is applicable in VIC.

          • @Craze: ah yep, just Crown in Vic

    • Wow.. I might actually do that… Just a question.. do they do the big wheel spin at every kingpin? More specifically, Chermside QLD?
      Thanks

      • Sorry, no idea….It seems to be there all the time in Melb though…

    • Need cosco membership and fight the crowds and parking…

    • What’s this Costco credit voucher? Is it a timezone giftcard? And is it still available to purchase today (7 May)?

      • Last deal I was not able to get it, Costco rep in store told me they were no longer selling those. But maybe different in other stores

        • 18 available in Docklands. 0 in Epping VIC

    • Entertainment program not sure what that is though

      • Ah ok. I’ll go ask my local store later. But what am I asking for? Timezone gift card?

    • Plan was foiled when my local costco didn't have stock ;/

      • Bugger….I went on Thursday to get i ahead….

    • +1

Sir you forgot to first buy a $135 special giftcard to use at Costco to buy the Timezone card:)

      • Opps…I'll have to look that up…. :)

        • +1

Another 15% off, up to $20 discount per card/account.

  • +1

Please note Platinum Members can have this from Monday. No need to wait till next week.

  • Does this work for bowling?

  • +1

    plus $250 get $500

  • some arcades are 18 or 25 all you can play all day….

  • Does anyone know if you top up through the app do you get a receipt to allow you to claim under the Victorian Entertainment Program?

  • did this last time will do this again thanks op

  • NSW family voucher $50 would work on this right?

  • Can this credit be used for arranging birthday parties at TZ?

  • If I use the app will it double as well?

    • As long as you have a registered powercard, it will work from the app.

  • Anyone know if this works at kingpin bowling

    • Kingpin and Zone Bowling also have the same promotion advertised on their respective websites. I was able to load up at those franchises today.

For those who still have Discover NSW vouchers, all 3 brands show up as different businesses so you can actually use more than 1 voucher per person per day, if you are willing to make the journey around Sydney. There are some exceptions where the same location contains 2 brands, so you can only use 1 voucher/person at that venue.

  • Could you use app for scanning at timezone to play games as well? Or Otherwise, is the app just for reloading?

  • Can it be used unlimited times? i.e. load 3 x $50 for $300 total value? Cannot locate the T&C…
