They keep rejecting my application. Is it because I live outside SA? I think so

Ouch. You tried multiple times after the first rejection? RIP your credit report

      • I have been taught since I was young to never give up.
My financial advisor has told me to always diversify my options so I applied for credit at multiple banks.

        • Username checks out

    • i got approved for $1k limit. Initially applied for 2k but they called me saying it's not gonna go through so need more info. I asked for limit to be reduced down to 1k and it was approved.

I have 3 cards with 10k limit each that i hardly use only for groceries so i reduced all of them down to 5k lol

Not a great deal. Need to spend $8,000 by Dec'22 to get the $400 cashback which means spend $1000 per month (8 months left in the year).

    • Your grocery fees are less than $200 a week? Are you single?

Family of 4 (2A, 10 & 6) and our average for the last 12 months was approx $175/wk. This has started to creep up but also just forcing me to be more inventive to keep the budget the same

      • Family of 3A +2kids. Spend $100/wk at woolies + $50/wk at boxdivvy for fruits/vegetables + $300/qtr at ethnic grocers.

Also use discounted gift cards @4.5% discount. Almost same as this deal.

        Don't drink alchohol.

    • Yeah, I think a Woolworths credit card is a far better deal with 10% off shop monthly per card holder and a gift card quarterly based on your credit card spend. I save $400+ yearly just with the 10% and get another $400 in gift cards yearly - and it’s ongoing.

It is not available to new customers atm. 10% discount does not apply to giftcard purchase, but 5% back in this deal does.

Actually, there is no restriction to paying card for 10% off. You can use eGC or other cards like this one.

        • but 5% back in this deal does.

          no it doesn’t

      • How do you get this? Woolies is like 4% online thru RAC or whoever

    • If you don't want to max the cashback, though, it's a good way to get 5% off for Aldi/IGA/Harris Farm (you can get close to 5% off using GCs for Coles/Woolies) - at least until the end of the year

This isn't a bad offer to be honest, considering we have hardly any cash back credit cards here in Australia compared to say, USA.

If you're doing your weekly shop at Coles or Aldi or Woolies, this isn't bad to get some back.

    • i'd say it's a good offer tbh. 5% off groceries is very nice AND $0 first year annual fee. just charge all your groceries on it for 11 months then cancel.

      • cashback only lasts to 31st December

        • true but $0 annual fee. Why not get it, put grocery spending on it and cancel before 31st? Nothing to lose here.

  • I just applied. Waiting for approval. Only requested $2000 limit as i'll only be using this for groceries.

  • Merged from 5% Cashback on Woolworths, Coles, Iga, Harris Farm & Aldi (Up to $400) /w St George Vertigo Credit Card ($0 First yr. Anl Fee )

Get 5% cashback on your supermarket shop (up to $400 total cashback) at selected supermarkets including Coles, Woolworths, IGA, Harris Farm and Aldi. Cha-ching!

Plus, no card fee for the first year (saving $55)

*Offer not available if you’ve held a St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA credit card in the last 12 months.

Seems like a very good deal! I don't see any downside on this card.

Sounds like a good deal but the cash back is only for transactions till December 31. So about six months to get $400 in cash back means you need to spend $8000 on groceries over 6 months. That’s about $310 per week. Free money is free money, not sure if this is worth it.

      • -5

Hmmmm, yes, the rising cost of living won't help anyone to benefit from this deal at all… Definitely not worth it to save a couple of hundred $ over the next 7 and a half months. 🙄

        • -1

you can already save close to this buying gift cards and get much better promos for credit card sign up

    • +1

kind of a crappy sign on offer, might be worthwhile if it was ongoing for the life of the card

    • Just here to read about the Anl Fee

  • What happens after 12/2022? no more cashback?

    • That's correct so jump in now. You got nothing to lose as long as you cancel your card before annual fee is due.
