    WAS $24, now $6

    Still too much…

    • +15

Books like this only exist to allow booksellers to do a national twat count

      • +2

        That's a spicy meatball!

  • +98

One of Australia's most respected journalists

    What ????

    • +7

According to channel 9 it's Tracy Grimshaw.

      • +2

What, they have no love for the Destroyer of League on 9, Erin Molan?

      • Melissa Doyle is no.1

    • +7

      jv's done a double-wammy tonight 👏👏👏

  • +47

Pay me $600 and I’ll read it, for $6 expensive toilet paper.

    • +2

You'd wish you had bought this when the next pandemic hits.

  • +44

How do they fill so much bullsh*t in 1 paragraph?

    • +31

The same could be said about the whole book.

    • +3

Maybe they took advice from the Red Bandana wearing Gimp…

    • +25

Talk absolute sensationalist poppycock. And I'm sensoring myself heavily there.

      • -3

        Care to elaborate?

        • -3

“This might upset some people but, honestly, parents, instead of telling our girls not to walk through parks, maybe we should be telling our boys not to rape them.”

She actually said that on national TV in regards to a girl who had been raped and murdered in a park.
She seems like a big man hater.

          • +1

@Some Human: I like you Some Human, just not all your views :)

            • +11

@c00per: Honestly, life would be pretty boring if we all shared the same views.

My beef with her statement is that it sounds so stupid.
Most boys know it’s wrong to rape. It is drummed into them their entire lives by various sources. And most won’t do it, because they know it’s wrong.
But there are a few who are just born or raised completely wrong and no matter how much you tell them it’s wrong to rape, it’s not going to stop them from doing it.
Why doesn’t she just walk into a bar and tell all the alcoholics to not be alcoholics? By her logic, they should instantly stop being alcoholics.

To me her statement sounded like she was cashing in on this poor girl’s unfortunate death, and the audience just ate it up.

              • +8

@Some Human: It's sounds moronically stupid, because it is.
Despite knowing about the 80/20 rule, she still thinks that making sweeping, but stupidly sexist comments is OK, because she's famous.

Using her same logic, the war in Ukraine hasn't stopped because no one has thought to walk over to Putin, and said "Cuse me, mate. Could you knock that shit off ? It's getting annoying"

I'm sure her book will be full of 'her struggle', set in a cruel world that made her claw her way through every single one of those lucrative contracts.

                • +5

@Magpye: I think the point is to place the public blame and onus on the perpetrator rather than the victim. Rather than saying Ukraine should've done this and that to appease Putin and then they could’ve avoided war, people should be placing the blame on Putin as most are presumably doing. Likewise, saying victims should've done this and that to avoid incurring the wrath of a rapist or murderer is messed up.

                • +7

                  @Magpye:

I'm sure her book will be full of 'her struggle', set in a cruel world that made her claw her way through every single one of those lucrative contracts.

Especially the contract where she moved from 9 to 10. Sexism was her reason for moving as Stefanovic was paid a lot more by the network (He also had other roles in the network and was more of a "star") So she goes to 10 and gets paid heaps more than Waleed and Bickmore, famously saying "I'm doing it for all women".

    • +2

      Hi Lisa

    • +3

‘I wouldn’t pay money to read some self serving biography of a manufactured tv news nobody, because that holds absolutely no interest to me and adds zero value to my life’

WHY IS CANCEL CULTURE OUT OF CONTROL

    • +8

She’s done nothing but make a bigger gap in women and mens issues while talking about being a feminist. She blames wage gap for not getting same pay as Karl when there were other issues (such as being locked to different media outlets for her column instead of 9 or fairfax as well as not doing more work then him…Karl would do stuff at night but Lisa wouldn’t because she wanted to be with her family)

      Both were overpaid imo

  • +25

Must be hard being a millionaire

    • +3

Yes find out why by reading the book.

    • +5

The hard bit is telling all the plebs what they should do and think.
That seems to be the entire purpose of her show too.

  • Covid-denier and a current affair fan. cool OP

    • -2

Pack your bags buddy and on your bike you lost this one.

  • +5

Perfect timing, will help kindle the wood fire for winter…. bought 5!

  • +10

Not for 300 million dollars and a million alpacas…….

    • +5

      and a million alpacas…….

      How many James Packers?

      • +1

Only a handful, they're extremely overweight and will fill a room easily.

  • +7

As a journalist with 30+ years in the business, I find it highly amusing that anyone would call Lisa a journalist. Entertainer, maybe. I think they are comfusing her with hubby Peter, a great journalist.

    • I concur, Peter van Onselen is one of the most credible conservative journalist/commentator not named Peta Credlin.

      • No such a thing as a journalist anymore. No such a thing as independent media. And Elon Musk is about to buy the main news outlet of the world.

        • +2

There's still some smart and insightful Aussie independents around that try and cut through the B.S. and corruption eg, Michael West, Shane Dowling, Callum Foote, Ross Leigh, Kaye Lee

        • +2

No such a thing as a journalist anymore

yes, Optionist, and wannabe Influencers have replaced them.

    • +7

I find it highly amusing that anyone would admit to being a journalist.

      My condolences.

    • +9

I am now retired, but worked with some great newspaper journalists in my time, including LIsa’s hubby Peter at the SMH. And you are right, just about anyone calls themselves a journalist nowadays. I saw a position advertised a while ago for a journalist - to write for Bond, the undies people.. Shit of a job :)

      • +1

        Bond?James Bond? :p.

      • +2

That'd be the undies editor, Mike. No reporters or journos any more.
As the undies editor, you can focus on your undies opinion and analysis, rather than sticking to the straight daks facts.

        • +1

You’d have to avoid asking probing questions :)

      • +2

Journalism as we knew it is dead.
These days they are copywriters at best, writing garbage for clicks.

        • +1

Joirnalist positions have been reclassified as content providers by the clicks-hungry media outlets. Sadly, media bosses don’t understand the importance of credibility.

    • +30

Peter FitzSimons is an insufferable twat.

      • +4

The guy that wears the bandannas?

        • +5

          Yep, hankie-head himself.

      • +4

Hey I’m bald but look how cool I am by not being bald

      • +2

Has he bragged about his rowing machine prowess this week? Maybe he's giving it a week off.

    • +5

Peter is definitely in the lightweight category. Entertainment pieces and opinion. Most of his columns see filled with jokes he heard at a pub or puffery.

Peter is a entertainment columnist not journalist.

      • I worked with him when he was reporting sport at the Herald. In that role, he was exceptional. In any case, a cut above his alleged journalist wife.

  • +45

A six-pack of Quilton at Woolies is only $5.30

    • -2

      Mother’s Day gift perhaps

      • +21

If you hate your mum sure

    • +19

Not a fair comparison as the Quilton is designed for enjoyable consumption.

  • +2

Thats some expensive and rough toilet paper

  • +2

    Such a joke book

  • +3

    They call me Mrs Bombastic…

  • +5

"It wasnt meant to cost $6 at Kmart so soon after release"

    • +1

      True.
It was meant to be for the $2 shops, although there are many more better things to spend my $2 on.

  • +22

I can see trouble brewing, Karl Stefanovic‘s book is $33.87 and Lisa’s is only $6!

    https://www.amazon.com/Karl-Cooks/dp/0733632653

    • +2

      lets bring the gender card

      • +2

        Classic Lisa style.

  • +12

Surely the OP is trolling. This is idiocracy on steroids.

      • +5

        you dropped this "/s" king

    • Soon that’ll be illegal

  • +8

I need a mega pint now

    • Of wine?

      • Hard liquor.

  • +11

"One of Australia's most respected journalists and media personalities"

    no, she is elitist scum.

  • +9

Calling her a "journalist" is misleading. I know she calls herself that, nothing against you OP.

  • +7

Is this a woke joke book?

    • +1

The jokes on you if you buy it.

  • +10

Leftie nut bag just like her husband!

    • Making Australia a republic is based.

  • +3

If we still had $1 notes, I'd rather burn 6 of them than go buy this to read. It would be more fun that is for sure.

  • +11

This chick called for more lockdowns while staying employed on her massive salary and living in her spacious mansion.

  • +7

    she is a rat.

  • +1

I wish I could afford this. $6 is still too much.

  • -1

"One of Australia's most respected journalists and media personalities"

Yeah she's up there, only a couple of tiers below Aussie Cossack Simeon Boikov

    • +4

I would rather the Cossack to share a meal than that trash.

      • +2

I feel like I couldn't have a meal with Cossack, I would constantly feel underdressed.

  • Wait for the next Udemy $0 sale. I’m sure both Karl and Lisa will be on the list.

  • +2

Broden has $50. If Broden buys Lisa's book for $6 and reads it and then buys Karl's book for $33.87 and reads it, after paying for both books and finishing them how much will to live does Broden have left?

  • +3

    "Journalist"

    • +2

      Alleged journalist

  • +1

Hopefully she puts in the book how she was critical of scomo for not immediately coming home from his holidays in hawaii during the fires yet saying nothing against Albo who was a guest for her alternate Australia Day party while the coast flooded. Hypocritical when you don't hold all politicians to the same standard.

    • +2

Was Albo PM at the time of the floods?

      • Leaders need to put on sack cloths and sit in their office by the batphone for these state emergencies. Shouldn't matter if you are PM or opposition leader. They would be both be equally useless in either of these emergencies.

        • Get back when you have figured out the difference between the government, and not the government. 👍

    • +1

      Nice try.

  • +6

I hope this post goes viral and it ends up on news.com and they quote some of the comments.. Lol

  • +3

No ones mentioned the hubby lol tosser

  • +2

If she's calling herself a Journalist then I'm calling myself Australian premier male stripper.

Technically I take my close off. But no one needs to know about it.
    Just like her tone-deaf opinions

  • +2

This wouldn't be a deal if they paid you to read it.
