                  • @davidlee: You could say that the offer was still in your app as "ready to shop" and take a screen shot. Just say you were confused and forgot you even did the $1 shop especially since you app shows it as currently active

    • was the order made online or instore?

    • I just tried a $50 spending, got 4000+2000 pts on the 4000/2000 offer and 3000 pts on the 3 weeks $30/40/50 offer and another 1000 pts on the $0.80 offer. Also 50 base pts. 10050 pts in total, certainly a pleasant surprice.

      • Thats amazing well done!

Anyone else had old accounts get deactivated?

    • +1

Yes! My old account that thought was getting 5000 points (got the email and made the spend) cannot be logged in to
I just get "MEMBER NOT FOUND" so thats the end of that.
I wonder if anyone knows what the rules are with older accounts?

      • +1

If your EDR is deactivated, you get "loyalty card not found" or similar upon scanning. In other words, your purchase cant be registered to it.

        • +1

It seems they still send promotional offers with such accounts, even after deactivating.
The system was happy to accept my card normally at the check out, it showed up fine, I just cannot log in to view the account,
Actually the process was: first when I logged in it asked me to change or update my password and they when I followed the link in my email I got the "MEMBER NOT FOUND" message
I spent a whole dollar too on an unwanted chocolate. Hard for an OzBargainer to accept :p

          • @King Tightarse: OK, so you may redeem pts next time.

            • +1

@Neoika: No the member not found message was as far as I could proceed. I was not able to do any more so no I cant get in to that account. The 5000 points are probably sitting there but the account is not accessible via the website.
I left it as 'save for Christmas" so there is some slim chance I can use it then

      • +1

try login with EDR number instead of email

        • Gave that a go but same results - cheers anyway

          • @King Tightarse: I called Woolworths Rewards and got it fixed. Call hold time: 15mins.

It is an issue on Woolies' end which happens to accounts which haven't logged in for a while.
Solution: simple backend fix with the call person creating a "login ID" on their end.

            • +1

@Fobsessive: Ah that makes sense, my problematic accounts don't see much (ab)use to deserve deactivation:)
Anyway I can confirm that such accounts can still earn and redeem pts as usual, just can't login to activate those rewards app only offers.

              • +1

@truetypezk: The big question is: will they activate the points as WW dollars at Christmas? I have an old account that has $30 sitting in it but have the discussed log in issue. I have no idea what name and birthday I said at the time. Probably Fluff McFluffyface or whatever stupid name I came up with, so I can't call them and get it fixed. I have my card number, email and password and it works fine at the checkout and still gets all the offers

              • @truetypezk: Actually I found a workaround!
You can activate the boost via using the original email message and clicking the Boost button. Strangely Woolies is quite loose and does not require a login for that.

                • @Fobsessive: Yes I did that too with my weird semi limbo account. Am able to get in to part of the account via the boost and can activate the boosters no worries at all

                • +1

@Fobsessive: I don't think you can activate app-only boosters that way, you can certainly do that for regular ones.
Fortunately app-only boosters are relatively rare so doesn't really matter.

Just did 2 card 9k points for $1 each

  • Re: “ $10 off 2 Shops with $10 Spend X 2”,
    Hours of
after redeemed my First Offer, how to boost Second Offer?
I try to collect $10 off second shop in the same day as my First Shop, but it was NOT successful .

Anyone got second $10? Could you share your experience here?

    • Yep, just 2 transactions back to back and they both worked fine.

    • +1

yeah I haven't done a second shop yet, but, the offer has moved to Completed in the app.
looks like the second needs to be completed straight away.

I have another account that also got the 2x$10 offer, so I'll make sure I use both at the same time.

      • Thats odd so on the same day? Do you know the allowed time-frame?

        • nah, but truetypezk just said that they managed to successfully use it back to back, so I will do that with my next two purchases.

          • @bohn: I don't think it matters. EDR sometimes has glitches and you can't redeem your rewards$ and earned pts only appear afterwards (normally should be instant), so I think you might have experienced similar glitches. Just try again within the offer time frame and I suspect it should work fine.

            • @truetypezk: Guys I have this offer but I am a bit unclear how it works?
After boosting does it take $10 your spend at checkout or do you earn points to the value of $10 for later?

        • +2

Just did two in a row now.

  • +1

I had 4000 points on .98 spend and 1000 points with no minimum spend.
Both worked on the same purchase

It's Woolies once-off "cost of living payment"!

Massive points offer just as Woolies increases prices… To soften the blow.

Grocery prices are tipped to rise 12%.
Some have already increased more than that.
    Should have invested in groceries!

    • I stockpiled a good amount of groceries at 20% off (Flybuys bonuses) before price rises. Wish I bought more though

      • +1

        So true.
On Drs advice, changed what I consume a month ago. Used up or threw out almost everything. So needed to restock my now empty shelves.

Shocked how much less I could buy for same price. Lucky for these good points offers!

        • Welcome to the health club!
Must be hard to throw out stuff but I am sure your body will shortly thank you for it!

          • @Fobsessive: Unfortunately any health benefits will be slow to notice, unlike the increase in grocery prices! Still, it's a good investment.

I used to stockpile food on special, so some was forgotten & a bit old. Good to have a clean out. And now no temptations!

    Groceries on Sunday 8/5/22
Scanned a $2.47 item, scanned EDR, paid.
Scanned rest of groceries totaling $33.30, scanned EDR - no $30 discount but the screen said "congrats you've reached $30 Woolworths dollars". Meh, whatever, will pay and use the discount next week.

From the transaction history on my EDR account today, someone appears to have STOLEN the $30 Woolworths dollars on 11/5/22 at a store I've never visited, bought items I'd never buy, using an Amex card I do not own.

    • +1

So sorry for you? How can they do this? Woolworths needs to address this issue generally and refund your points. Have you contacted them? It must be a known issue by now?

      • +2

        It is in the news

There is a topic in the forum too.

        • +1

Again?!! This already happened a few years ago…

      • From the below comment, it seems to be very well known! Chat (with a human) and call centre were both offline. Looking forward to waiting on the phone tomorrow..

    • Only instant EDR offers trigger automatic conversion into EDR$. When you have completed your $2.47 transaction, you have 6000+ pts sitting on the account, not ready to be used for discount as EDR$.
After you have completed the $33.30 shop, you have earned 33 pts instantly and this has triggered the conversion, giving you $30 EDR$ and 6000 pts less in the account.
The theft came in nicely after your 2nd shop which has converted the $30 EDR$ and used it, profit.
You should have made another small $1+ transaction after getting the 5000 pts, earning at least 1 pt so your 6000 pts can be converted into $30 and then use it for your $33.30 shop, leaving the theft with an empty account.

      • It is a little suspicious that you know the ins and outs so well ;)
So, a spend after a threshold point spend is needed to trigger the conversion to dollars? Which means people should tap for $1+, then tap for another $1+, then tap their basket of goods to utilise the bonus points offer immediately and avoid theft that seems quite rampant

        • +1

Yes, to be precise it is $0.98 as it will get rounded up to $1. That's why the offer mentioned a min $0.98 spending. Basically you just need to earn at least 1 pt in a transaction to trigger the conversion, otherwise it will happen at the end of the day (not sure what time though) and the $30 would be ready to use on the next day. If you want to use the points for discount immediately, just do another $1 shop like you said.

          • @truetypezk: You never earn EDR pts in odd number, only even number. $0.98 spend earns 2 pts. It is in the T&Cs.

You can check all your purchase records (if not believe me).

        • +1

The cheapest way to get 1 pt is to buy something for $0.98, find a cash+card machine, pay $0.96 on card and the transaction gets automatically completed, rounding off the remaining 2c. Nothing useful but just for the Ozb spirit.

          • +1

@truetypezk: It is OK to do it @ Woolies, but @ Coles, it will record $0.96 spend. You may lose bonus pts by doing so @ Coles if the spend target is missed by 1-2 cents.

            • +1

@Neoika: Ah is it 2 pts? I've never really paid attention to whether it is 1 or 2. Yeah I won't risk it if a bonus offer is potentially affected, more for the satisfaction of squeezing 2c out of the big corps.

              • @truetypezk: I mean if you spend $53, you earn 54 base pts, not 53 pts @ Woolies.

Actually, I think flybuys does not record the purchase below 97c as no pt is earned. I am talking about $50 or $49.98 spend @ Coles when your spend target is $50 for bonus pts.

                • +1

@Neoika: Do you earn 1 points if you spend less than $1 at Coles, say spend $0.55? Not really relevant to your comments above, just curious as I haven't used my flybuys card for almost a year and they emailed to say my account will be closed if I don't use my card before 16 May. I have been using my partner's flybuys.

                  • +1

                    @bbking18: I think minimum 98c for 1 pt.

                  • +1

@bbking18: You are lucky you got notice.

                    • @Yola: Don't they normally notice people? Email was sent to me a month ago and somehow I missed it till last night. :(

                      • @bbking18: No, many have mentioned that the first time they knew was when they could not log into their account.

                        • +1

@Yola: Lucky me. Busy shopping at Coles, but forgot to shop at Woolworths and missed my 3000 points for $0.98 offer. :(

                    • @Yola: Just to follow up with my Flybuys points. Not relevant to this thread. But I am really curious. I said before flybuys emailed me to say if I didn't use my card before 16 May my account would be closed. I used my card 3 times before 16 May, once on 15 May and twice on 13 May. Yesterday I found my points balance was 0. Rang them, waited over an hour today and was told my account was closed on 15 May.

She couldn't do anything about it apart from admitting it was a system error and has to emailed her manager to see what can be done.

Yoga, can you please refer me to other threads where people discussed their flyby accounts being closed without notice? Thanks so much

                      • +1

@bbking18: I have just found one but I am sure there were others but I do not think they would be useful to you as those people did not get notice and did not use their cards in time. Because you did you have a reasonable claim to get your points reinstated.
I no longer bother calling Flybuys the wait is excessive, complaints are always taken more seriously when in writing and if/when you need to follow up you can just send the email again rather than having to repeat your sorry tale. I suggest you wait maybe a week, 2 at most, and then email them with the info you have stated, the date, and name of the CS person you had a conversation with , a copy of the closure email and copies of invoices/receipts of transactions you made including dates.

                        [email protected]

I think you have a good case and should pursue it. I have usually found them reasonable although have not faced a similar issue. As I said you were lucky you got notice and were able to take action. Good luck please let us/me know how you go so that we can add to the community database.

                        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/656176?page=2#comment

                      • @bbking18: If I had less than 2k pts in the account, I would not bother to contact flybuys. Too much hassle to follow up and just open a new account. It looks like you did as you would have converted them to dollars for use.

I used to have 10+ memberships. But since it allowed more giftcards to be purchased for bonus per promo, I stopped using 5 of them after a round-up to 2k pts for $10 redemption.

                        • @Neoika: Yes, I did have over 2000 points. The main reason I contacted them was also because I had Flybuys dollars on my card which I have been using. I had no problem swiping my flybuys card and using flybuys dollars to pay. But I worry about they might take them away one day.

      • "The theft came in nicely after your 2nd shop which has converted the $30 EDR$ and used it, profit." what does this part mean? Isn't some money still stolen? How can there be profit

        • Profit for the thief I mean, and yes the $30 got stolen because it was not ready for use as EDR$ by @maroon after the original shop that earns the points.

  • Just going to try out tonight.

    I have got $0.98 for 2000 or $50 for 4000

Just wondering if I can do 2 transactions and avail both the offers. So, 1st transaction with $1 buying gives me 2000 points. And, 2nd transaction with $50 buying gives me 4000.

Am I understanding the offer correctly?

    • +2

No need to do 2 transactions. Just spend the $50 and you will get both 2000 and 4000 points!

  • +1

I used my 2 x $10 deal back to back at the self checkout today but it was a little creepy. Being a good OzBargainer, I picked goods to the value of just over $10 twice. Nice to see the $10 come off and just 50c or so to pay.
Anyway, did that twice and packed the bay only to get a serious case of stink eye glaring from the attendant. I just winked at him and left but I am sure he is convinced I did something dodgy.

    • +2

. I just winked at him and left but I am sure he is convinced I did something dodgy.

      Welcome to my world lol

    • +1

One of my transactions was exactly $10. Nice of the self serve to skip the payment screen entirely!
