So if there was a deal say 90% off alcohol, its not a bargain? Since it makes you feel sick after consumption?

      Your thought is flawed.

  • +3

I sure hope Hungry Jack's has faster net than McDonald's.

I don't like being able to finish my meal and still not get Google to load from before I started eating.

    • +7

unlimited refills from HJ wins me over anytime.

      • That's one reason why I like Hungry Jack's too.

McDonald's has started to roll out drinking fountains too.

        • -1

          wtf

      • EDIT: Silly tablet, stop making me double post. >.<

    • +1

it IS faster (considerably), but 100mb limits and/or 30mins (60mins if you register your device)

      • pretty sure McDonalds has a limit as well and I think it's lower than HJ's limit.

        • 100mb at maccas would take forever.. prahran maccas has dialup speeds at best

  • -8

    How is this a freebie?

    • Its not a freebie. Its a $2 whopper and fries.

      • +1

Exactly. Why is it labelled as a freebie when I have to pay money to get something?

        • +4

          because the voucher is free.

  • Got 8 of them from Annerly, good dinner.

    • +5

      good dinner

Your heart won't be saying that in 30 years.

      • +3

        I had 2, not 8.

But I also feel 2 was also too much.

        • What did you do with the other 6?

        • +15

I have these things… called friends.

        • Feeds them to the cat in his avatar.

'I can haz cheezeburger? Oh noes! I sees Whopper. Me haz anyway.'

        • +10

Implying I ate 8 Whoppers and 8 fries by myself is also a tad bit asshole-ish, man.

        • +2

Can i bung a smoke off of youz?

  • Good find, just in time when my scoopon vouchers expired. Thumb up for those ozbargainers to create the pdf file.

  • wow! great deal! But how do I know which stores accept the voucher? I live in Perth (Northern Suburbs). Just wondering…..

  • +1

All you guys are going to get fat.

    Not a good deal.

    • +2

Actually this is perfect because it doesn't include the drink (sugar)

      • But you could have a diet version. Yeah, I know, artificial sweeteners, food acids…

      • +1

So the burger full of carbohydrates and fat is fine but the drink containing sugar makes people fat.

        • -1

No it's not 'fine' as such. If carbs on their own were bad then why aren't all italians big fatties, considering their pasta intake? Everything in moderation. But it's much better than excessive sugar. Back in the day we were all cooking with lard and butter and didn't have as much diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Strange huh?

Have a read of some of David Gillespie's books. They are great reading.

        • +2

Energy intake is still energy intake. Eat too much energy and you get fat, regardless of what it is. Everything in moderation is key, including sugar.

'Back in the day' people tended to have more active lifestyles. A hundred years ago most people worked on the farm or outside. Now most work indoors at jobs that hardly require us to move.

  • +1

Does it work for Brisbane queen st shop?

    • the Scoopon one did so I am assuming this will too

  • +1

Did't even need to print the voucher out, Hobart Hungry Jacks's accepted it just by viewing it on the phone :)

    • +1

      Never works at my Hungryjacks.

  • Love these HJ deals! I'm salivating right now! Oh dear.

    • +3

Medical costs would probably break you even once you get a cardiac arrest.

  • +3

won't have to cook until the end of the financial year \o/

  • +6

    Frozen burgers anyone? LOLOLOLOL

  • +4

I would say "My heartfelt thanks" but my hearts not in this deal as its already suffering from the last $2 deal. Enough is enough.

    • Some people get excited by this deal and think 'be still my beating heart'. Well, eat enough of these and it could well come true :-P

  • Bring your emails just in case. Went to my local store and the manager didn't know about the offer, had to show my email.

  • Jut it work just showing on iPhone?

  • rocking!!!

another 2 months of $2 whoppppperssss

  • Just tried at HJs Browns Plains (Brisbane). They wouldn't accept it cause they hadn't heard about it.
Gonna go try HJs Algester tomorrow.

    • Glad you posted this. I was going to go to Browns Plains store tonight to get the deal.

      Thanks mate.

  • YES . hungry jacks for another 2months . breakfast, lunch and dinner for just $6 a day.

    • +5

Just a friendly reminder, one meal is like half of your recommended daily intake.

    • -1

      $6 isn't that cheap

    • You must be joking, because if you are not, it gives me the shivers to think anybody could stand that kind of monotony 3 times a day for 2 months.

  • will they accept the coupons if they're printed in black and white?

    • +1

Never had a B&W coupon turned down so save your colour ink or toner.

      • strong reply - your cheapness powers surpass mine

        • +6

Not only that, but I print on old exercise book paper or the blank side of flyers that real estate agents kindly gift me in my mailbox. :)

But it must also be added, some OzBargainers just present a picture of the coupon on their phone. Might even work.

        • +2

You sir need to be the mascot on OB's front page.

    • +1

I always print mine in black and white and it works. Though I have come across some rather slow staff from other stores who automatically think 'B&W = photocopies = not allowed' facepalm

  • +2

Kids, in the old days coupons had to be unique.. i.e. flyers in the letterbox, trimmings from newspapers, magazines, shopadockets, coupon books, etc. You'd get shot if you took in a photocopy.. jeez

Showed jpeg on iphone and cust service chick got manager .. "OK I vil aksept dis tyme bat nekst tyme u nid two hav reel hart cupees plis" This is one I don't normally go to.. usually I just tell em $2 whopper deal or show em jpeg

    • How the hell are you meant to have the original coupon from an email?

      • In the old days, son, the Internet was primitive and email was taken a lot more seriously…

How about the way 7eleven does it? unique scannable/readable barcode readable off smartphone?
Getting a lot of weird looks.. lot of scrutiny with this new coupon..

    • +1

OK I vil aksept dis tyme bat nekst tyme u nid two hav reel hart cupees plis

LOL imagining the clueless manager pronouncing like that.

  • Nice deal, I thought it would be the last of me looking at whoppers on the 8th. Now I can continue munching whoppers when I got hungry after work. I like HJ's whopper better than McD's cheeseburger or whatever in the similar class.

  • +1

Would anyone care to try one if they are at Gold Coast airport, it isn't in the list, but with 8 hours to Singapore a few burgers could come in handy!

  • +4

not sure if my prev post worked, but:

In case you have a spare $990 burning a hole in your wallet, I have redesigned the voucher for large families (for the ultimate mega meal)

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/zn0ytxr44b6gf3v/HJ%20Mega%20meal.p…

    • +1

      hurts me eyes

  • bumped it up to 281 likes.. this coupon being scrutinised a bit more.. maybe its the dodgy printouts? 24 coupons on 1 A4 sheet lol

  • +1

You guys wanna know something interesting?

My friend works at HJ's, went to get his first $2 whopper and fries

    Friend: hands over voucher

Staff (Also my friends manager): You know what I'm going to do with this?

    Friend: What?

Staff: Through it in the bin, because you're taking advantage of this offer.

    Friend: ….

ALSO, whenever it's busy the staff make their employees wait till it calms down before they serve them

He gets paid $8.50/ hour part time and he's 16…

Makes me not wanna go to HJ's anymore, it's almost like they're discriminting against there staff..

    • That sounds like a dodgy manager. Hopefully not all HJ managers at every store are the same.

      • +1

Well, maybe not. There are plenty of deals that are not available to employees and their families. I don't know the specific terms of this deal or the employees contract so perhaps he should be entitled to it, but deals arent always available to employees - unless you work for Dick Smith :)

    • better off at maccas..less of a dank.. better regarded by employers.. chicks are better too :)
Seriously my maccas after 4pm weekdays it's like I've walked onto the set of dolly magazine :)

  • +3

HJ's Oakleigh (Vic) accepted 2 vouchers from my wife yesterday, no problems. Missus then went to get petrol at the Shell servo a few doors up and they were giving away free coffees.

I'm unemployed at the moment so it was great to have a feed and coffee for $4.

    Many thanks OP!

    • You mean your wife used two coupons in one go?

HJ Clarkson refused to accept my second coupon when I made a purchase for a colleague who was at work. Didnt get the big fuss over a couple of whoppers.

      • Yes, even through it says on the voucher "Limit of 1 Whopper and fries per customer, per visit", I told her to just try for 2 deals with 2 vouchers, and it worked.

I imagine it would depend on the decision of each individual staff member.

I guess if you want to push the issue you could ask what constitutes a 'visit'. Does exiting the doors and re-entering constitute a second visit? Perhaps you need to reach the footpath. Does driving through the drive through again constitute a second visit?

After all, it doesn't say "One voucher per customer, per day".

        • http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/visit?s=t:

          verb (used with object)
          1.
to go to and stay with (a person or family) or at (a place) for a short time for reasons of sociability, politeness, business, curiosity, etc.: to visit a friend; to visit clients; to visit Paris.
          2.
to stay with as a guest.

emphasis seems to be on stay - so I guess walking out and walking back unless for a significant enough duration, wouldn't be enough to constitute a second "visit"

  • HJ Clarkson refused to accept my second coupon when I made a purchase for a colleague who was at work. Didnt get the big fuss over a couple of whoppers.

Not as bad as a 7eleven employee that wouldn't accept my free diet coke voucher, because apparently the manager told her to allow only one per day..

Even though she showed me the booklet that highlights the promo, it clearly states one per customer per store per day

It's completely bs that managers think they can make up their own rules, although they're suppose to follow the T&C's from cokeunleashed and the 7eleven franchise.

    Well they're getting reported..

  • +4

MAN, you know whats crazy, my mum just sent me an email with one of these vouchers attached here. And she doesnt know much about the internet / much less ozbargain. I found out a colleague at work sent it to her….This has really gotten around.

  • -1

Springvale store said they not accepting. but the participating store clearly said Springvale.

are they dodgy or just not updated.?

it's not about the $3difference, but it's the principle. we are entitle to the discount. :D

    • Pshhh, this is ozb. Of course its about the $3 :P

      • Isn't a whopper about $4.95 retail? Whopper + small fries ($1 like maccas?) would be a bit more than $3 diff?

  • +4

I just bought my girlfriend's Family dinner. Costed $8

    • nice

    • +10

Top work Mancandy, setting the bar low from the outset prevents future disappointment.

  • -1

I bought 4 yesterday, just because I had 4 coupons in my hand. Cats had 2 of them. They loved em.

    • and they accepted it?

      • +3

im sure most shops are clever enough to see that denying a coupon is not the ideal situation. better to sell 4 burgers at a reduced profit than to sell none at all.

  • +1

great deal, printed 12 black and white vouchers in one A4 page..

and had Veggie Whoppers and small fries.. $2 deal is great.

  • hey I used the $2 whopper and small fries coupon for lunch today at the Southern Cross (Spencer St) Hungry Jacks in Melbourne. They accepted the printed coupon without any issues. I printed it in colour but I'm sure black and white is fine too.

I agree, it's the cheapest lunch you can grab at the moment :)

I'm thinking of printing a few sheets worth and handing it out to the homeless people in the cbd! At 3000kj per $2 whopper+fries that's plenty to keep them warm for winter ;)

    cheers

  • anyone ever had incident where HJ claim you photocopy the voucher because printed it in black and white?

wonder what they consider as "real" print out?

just because i print it out in black and white on a laser printer doesn't mean it's a photocopy,i even offer to show my email that i registered. but they didn't want to see it.

    • Can you please read previous posts before asking the same questions.

Now, according to the majority B & W - no problem BUT some have been refused, depends on the store/manager/staff.

  • mmm I know what I'd choose for $2.00 is it the double cheese burger @ macas or a whopper with fries @ HJs times up it's the whopper and fries all the way,

  • +1

i really wonder how much increased sales this voucher has given HJs.

personally, i dont take fast food unless with a coupon, so they got quite a few dollars out of me.

  • considering I drive 5+ hours a day of stop/start driving, around melbourne as part of my job I frequent mcdonald stores due to their loose change menu. Time to hunt out the hungry jack stores for benefits =)
