Just when you thought an optus MVNO couldn't be any worse… along comes coles mobile.

    Support non-existent.

No idea what they have done with QOS and coverage but its worse than its parent. Your region might vary..

Is there any evidence that Coles Mobile has a smaller coverage area than Optus itself?

    • +2

I used their online chat support once because of activation problem, they solved my problem in 2 days. it is the only time I have to ask their support, and I have 3 accounts with coles mobile now (2 for the kids).

so far Boost is the best for me.

100%. Telstra network, their support is equally as bad but luckily I never need them so all is good!

    • +1

Can't wait for my Voda SIM to expire (next year, sigh) so I can move to Boost!

Just saying if you are Coles employee with mycoles card, this deal is $99.

    Limited to 4
    Until 28 June

    • How do you do it if you have one?

      • +1

Sorry reply is below.. damn fat fingers

    • +2

It's actually $94.05, taking into account the staff 5% discount. $89.10 if you work in a "Store of the Year" (-10%).

      • Yes you are right! Forgot about this

  • Just purchase it at Coles and scan your mycoles card, it will bring it down to $99

    • Cool. I want to renew my existing plan with Colesmobile. So how it will work at checkout?

      • The deal is only for new customers (first recharge). Ongoing recharges are $150.

        • Just port yourself out using $2 prepaid sim and then port back in?

  • +1

that thumbnail…is that referring to coverage 😂

  • Your Next Recharge will be $112.50
Get a 25% discount off your next recharge, when you recharge on the same plan before your expiry date

    Recharge retail price still $150

    • Dang, where does it say that?

      • login colesmobile, u will see that discount; my number expiry on 15/5

    • Just checked and doesn't show that for me.

  • It says new customers only.
How do they define new customers? The number that has never been registered to their network before? or for a certain period of time?
If anyone knows, please share your knowledge. Thanks.

    • Use a different email address.

      • I have been porting back and forward different carriers with same email so far no issues.

  • I'm currently using this plan. For some reason 4G speed is much slower than Boost or Amaysim.

  • Go with Boost if you can, I'm in SE Melbourne and coverage is poor with slower internet speeds.

  • I'm in inner suburbs of Melbourne. The coverage and 4G speed are not really good! Catch connect was better. Changing to something else soon. Probably Boost.

  • A pity there is no supermarket discount.

The Woolworths plan is just about free for me, since I spend over $100 at woolworths once a month with the 10% off.

Any advantages of the Coles plan over Woolies? Aside from being slightly cheaper if you rarely shop at Woolworths.
Does Telstra MVNO still beat Optus for coverage?

    • +1

I find my reward account with woolworths mobile rewards normally get less promotion from woolworths rewards compare with the account with no mobile rewards. Coles mobile have free overseas calling which is important for some. Plus the sim starter pack bought from Coles count for the spend xxx get xxx points promotion.

  • Does Coles still lack VoLTE? Optus' 3G network for voice is really showing its limitations as they move frequencies to 5G

    • It’s just horrendous
      Half the call I’m apologising
The second half they can’t hear me 😞

  • Still prefer Woolworths Mobile. With a weekly grocery at least $150 sometimes $200 and a 10% one off discount, I can have a 365 day expiry sim for FREE with 120GB then make a bit of money. Don't know why Coles is not competing with them by offering same discount.

  • Can you buy this at a Coles store ?

Yes you can - ends tomorrow - thanks OP

  • VoLTE and WiFi Calling?

  • Don’t know, shove sim in works, and better coverage compared to Boostmobile
