Hey guys. We've become aware that certain members are experiencing an issue with click-through to BWS via the Cashrewards mobile app. They are presented with a pop-up stating: Retailer's app trying to open. Only purchases on BWS's website is eligible for cashback even though the BWS app is not installed.

If you tap OK and the pop-up closes, you can continue to shop on BWS via the Cashrewards app. However if you tap OK and you get a blank screen, you'll need to use a desktop or mobile browser instead. Appears to be affecting Android mainly.

Issue has been flagged with tech, but likely won't be resolved today. Apologies for any inconvenience.

    • +1

The other issue is that no one who used the $10 "new user code" has been tracked.

      • +1

Agreed. I ordered as an existing customer and was confirmed tracked within 5 mins. Then my wife ordered as a new customer with $10 new user code, using her Cashrewards account and 2 hours later still hasn't been tracked. It's in her click history, but no tracking. (She used the same computer with no ad blocker, etc).

        What now, Store Rep?

  • bugger bought booze from them yesterday
    hmm maybe I need more…..

  • Time for more booze in this rainy weather.

  • So $75 max spend

    • +2

I think it might be $82.5 to account for GST? Could be wrong though.

      • +4

        $83.33

      • +1

        $82.5 is right.
        30/0.4*1.1

    • +1

Closer to $85 as GST is not included.

      ( 0.4 * 0.9 * 85 = 30.6)

      • +1

        30 / (40 * 0.9) = $83.33

        • +1

          30 / (0.40 / 1.1) = 82.5

          • @Wyn-Ryder: Yep thanks you are correct, I knew I was ~slightly off :)

          • @Wyn-Ryder: (30 x 1.1) / 0.4

            • +2

              @Tiggrrrrr: (30 x 1.1) / 0.4 is effectively the same as 30 / (0.40 / 1.1). Both end up with the correct amount of $82.50 as does my preference 30 / 0.4 x 1.1
I think it's simpler to understand by using this as $30 / 0.4 = $75, which is how everyone would calculate it if GST wasn't a factor. Where cashback is not payable on GST and GST is included in the purchase price you just need to multiply the result by 1.1 (to add 10% GST) i.e. $75 x 1.1 = $82.50.
That's pretty simple to understand - and doesn't even require brackets to prioritise calculation order

      • Why is it that only the liquor merchants exclude GST from the cashback

    • I think you might be right? My order was $78 and I got the full $30 cashback tracked.

  • awww damn nice one man! nice one!

    • I keep telling ppl alcohol is bad for the liver but just keep getting negs for speaking the truth.

People don't come here to be preached to… and I think we all know the risks..

          can consider it a bargain

      • It is bad for your body in many ways. Most people know it but choose to ignore. I drink, so this includes me.

    • +1

With a username like that I thought you’d be stocking up on XXXX

    • +1

Well you stretched it to addiction. Just because someone drinks, doesn't mean they have an addiction. Also I'll go further and say that I don't think addiction to something is so bad, it depends what and if it helps them lead a better functioning and positive life. So addiction doesn't have to lead to terrible outcomes. (Btw I'm not talking about alcohol here)

    • Stop drinking alcohol fellow Australians. Addiction leads tp terrible outcome.

      Such as poor grammar?

  • Time to stock up, cheers TA

  • +3

40%!? my god, their margins must be obscene

    • It's only 36% as GST not included…

    • Yep - their prices are comparatively high.
But the free beers recently are very welcome.

  • Cheers TA!

  • Is it valid with the free can of beer deal when you spend over $10? You have to enter the code MONSUTA to get the free beer, but it is a code direct from the BWS website, so these usually still work with the cashbacks??

    https://bws.com.au/productgroup/monsuta-bonus-can

    • +1

Unfortunately not. BWS has made it clear to us that any code use will have cashback declined, unless specifically sent by BWS to new BWS customer sign-ups, as will be advertised on Cashrewards during the promo. Cheers.

      • +1

That’s weird from BWS as ShopBack cash back for BWS worked for this code.

        • Tracked or approved? If it tracked and pending then it may still be declined 😅

      • +2

So that generic first email sign up code should be fine (S8n3-T4p-e7u)?
Didn't use it last time but has been over 30 days.

The prices aren't that good anyway there but 40% would help.

        • Did it take long for them to send you the new sign up code? Still waiting on mine.

          • +1

@denzel: Should be under 30 mins for it to arrive. But no need to wait, the generic code has been posted in this thread many times by different people.

            • @DrRalph: S8n3-T4p-e7 not working on my new account.

              Coupon -$0.00

              • @M00Cow: Process to the next screen, the discount will apply on the next screen.

                • @Purple: thank you kind sir….silly me for assuming the discount would appear in the discount section of the first page.

                  • @M00Cow: The website is misleading.

                    • @Purple: yep, but they deducted when it counted….hopefully CR goes thru & it'll be 6 bottles of Coonawarra CabSab for $50!

          • +1

@denzel: Don't Think so but didny Work the first time
Was ages ago didn't bother with this today got enough piss at home

    • Cashback is ineligible when using codes not listed on Cashrewards, unless associated with a particular offer specifically advertised on Cashrewards.

    • MONSUTA code is meant to expire tonight (11/5) anyway.

      • Do you need to add a certain product to the cart with the code?
I have a store credit I need to use up and will use it in a separate transaction to not stuff up the cashback.

  • Does anyone happen to know how long you get to click and collect an order before it's refunded? Going on holiday in 7 days and would like to collect once I arrive

    • Dunno about BWS, but Liquorland held onto my order when I forgot to collect it and was only going shopping once a week due to lockdown when I rang up and asked them to hold onto it

    • -4

      same day or next day

  • +1

Thanks Op, 2 bottles of JW red ends up $25 each….cheap and nasty. 😃

  • BWS :)

  • +6

BWS still 95 days for approval of cashback. They really need to catch up with Liquorland & FCL who seem to be 35 days now

  • How do i sign up for the $10 bucks off?

    • +4

Just sign up on the BWS site at the login/signup box in the top right. You'll just need to opt in for marketing emails and the voucher will arrive within 30 mins or so.

      • Thanks mate!

  • +1
  • Didn't get the $10 sign up bonus in my mail box and the "Sign up today and get $10 off your first order!*" box on the site doesn't work either. Is this an issue on their end or mine; and how do I fix it?

    • +3

Mine came after 15-30 mins. Wait a little longer and see how you go.

    • +1

      What's the guideline recommendations?

      • -8

I am just trying you improve the health of my fellow Australians

        • +2

I'm sure you are. However, you listed a whole heap of possible long term side effects of consumption above some guidelines, but haven't said what amount is above the guidelines.

          • -2

@thestig: Going by comments that you made in the past on alcohol related post, seems like you are heavy drinker. So I guess, warning does apply to you. It's for your own good and public good

        • Its better to be merry than sad

        • So stop hurting my earballs!

      • Not getting into the above post but in relation to the guidelines published on a gov website to do with alcohol, I'd be very hesitant to trust. Gov make so much $ off us drinking and restrict any other drugs that have less damaging effects, I'd say they've got a conflict of interest on that one.

    • sounds like fake news

    • brain damage and brain-related conditions

Hmm, looks like this teetotaller is doing some self diagnosis

  • Thanks, OP.

Just wondering if the products under the menu option "PREMIX" is eligible for Cashback? E.g vodka cruiser

    Many thanks

  • wow so glad i didnt do my top up today

  • +1

A serious question: what is recommended, for $80ish?
