  • Also says ‘earn $233 in Rewards’ is that separate to the discount code? Awesome if so

    • +2

I believe it’s fine. Means you get $233 towards your next Lenovo purchase, but only while it lasts.

      • Any deals on a model with an RTX GPU?

  • I don't get their numbering? Gen4 but I thought Gen 9 is the latest?

    • I think the Gen 9 you mentioned is a different Thinkpad series, X1 Carbon Gen 9, but far as I know the latest Carbon is Gen 10 (with intel gen 12) - can be confusing
Gen 4 is the latest generation of E-series (which is pretty entry level Thinkpad line)

  • Maybe if it was a tad cheaper like this one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/697201

    • +3

      its ideapad S tho.
but i agree E14 >$1000 is not so much a deal for me personally

    • +1

I reckon those days are gone
with the current exchange rates, there won't be that many deals under $1000

      • Agree very hard to find a good laptop under $1k these days, plus this laptop has some loyalty rewards over $200 tongrap

  • Thanks OP

  • Does this stack with CR 4.2%?

    • +5

Certainly does, and TA codes are exclusive to Cashrewards (even if unlisted).

mod note: tightarse is associated with Cashrewards

      • +1

        awesome, thanks

        • Just be aware you may have to hassle CR to get the cashback. Took me months to get mine approved from the Blak Friday sale last year.

CR denied the claim, I showed proof, they still denied, I lodged a complaint and they eventually chased up Lenovo properly and approved the claim.

      • Hey TA, any chance of a TA code for the E15? I'm looking at the 21ED002CAU, wanting to order today.

        Thanks.

  • $300 more for the RTX 3060 model (which I think has a worse screen).

Any deals for the 15" version ?

Can anyone tell me if they have ever used the little red mouse knob on one of these?

    • Yes, I used it all the time when I used ThinkPads as my main laptop. It was superior to the touchpads of the day.
Nowadays touchpads have improved so much that I find them much better than the trackpoint, so I don't use them on ThinkPads any more.

      • I remember them being on olddddd laptops, thought they'd be long gone by now

    • +3

I used the IBM clitoris on the old models before they became Lenovo.

        Username checks out.

      • Bruh among us called they want their sus back

    • +3

      We called them nipples.

    • +1

Still using it every day, the advantage is that you don't need to move your hand between it and the keyboard, compared to using a touchpad or mouse. It's also faster and more accurate (when you've become used to it). I'd probably move to another brand if they removed it.

    • Yes! I love the trackpoint on the ThinkPad's. Ones you'd get used to it, you'll never go back.

same config on Lenovo Education is $1043.10 with EDUCOMM code.

    • But then you earn only a $26 Reward instead of $230. This will all depend on whether you will buy from Lenovo again.

      • +1

yes tbh that reward amount is unusual. almost looks like an error. usually it's around 20 bucks for $1k spend

  • +2

This would make a good school or work computer.

  • Anyone have an idea what the date will be in the invoice? Is it the date when I placed the order or the dispatch or delivery date etc?

    • +1

Should normally be the date of dispatch from experience.

    • +1

I ordered one on Wednesday night so can try and give you some help to figure it out - as of now there is an order summary generated on the system, but with no date for expected shipping or arrival.

Presume invoice would be a separate document, and can't currently see where to find that, but can have a look if you know where.

    • +1

yep I have ordered 2x e14 gen 4 last month
1 is shipped and 1 is not shipped yet
once the laptop is shipped, an invoice will be generated, the date is your dispatch date.

      • What was the prospective shipping date for the one you have that has shipped? Curious as to how Lenovo is going to interpret 'mid May' for my expected shipping time.

        • I think my shipping date is probably not relevant, I would go with the "two weeks" which the OP stated in the post.

  • This isn't the LTE version with a sim slot right?

  • I have the Gen 2 and have been more than satisfied with it. My only gripes is that the screen is a little dim and coming from carbons and T series, this one was a tad heavy, even though visually, they looked and almost felt as slim.

  • +1

Increased Lenovo Cashrewards cashback this morning to 15%. For anyone that ordered this early, cancel and re-order for an additional $120+ cashback.

  • 1.64kg, thats quite heavy for a 14inch laptop

    • Yea will buy if it's lighter.

  • Not a bad deal… any chance you can bring back a even better deal for click frenzy mayhem?
