      • The fact you can only redeem Flybuys points in-store for money off by using your physical card in 2022 is ridiculous.

I have never used a physical Flybuys card to earn or redeem points in store.

        • How do you use your flybuys dollars then?

          • @theguyrules: If you spend over $10, it will let you redeem 2k points for $10 if you scan your FlyBuys card from any source.

You're thinking of putting the FlyBuys dollars straight on your FlyBuys card and using it like an EFTPOS card with the magnetic stripe. This is more flexible if you're not spending over $10 every time. You can spend part of $10 and the rest will stay on your physical FlyBuys card for next time.

Either way, their technology is very limiting and terrible compared to Woolworths. No e-receipts, no app for checking gift card balances (you have to go to a website and log in individually for every card), 1-2 days delay before your points show up in the FlyBuys app, it's all very primitive.

            • @non-core promise: Noob is just a noob…

WW system is so rubbish that the WW rewards card record is somehow not cleared from the check out terminal and the next person checkout can just redeem all the money inside your card.

I have been happening a few times to me and I'm sure not the only one who experience it.

Coles GC has been just a barcode that you can scan and paid.

WW GC has been inputting the whole string of gc number to pay until just recently they copied the Coles style to generate the barcode because the number of digits of the WW has increased ( old gc is only the last 10digits). And even so didn't even do it properly with the barcode taking on the whole screen of the phone in landscape mode and many self checkout terminal can't scan it…

And just FYI, use a barcode reader to scan that barcode and lo and behold… They generated the PIN into that barcode as well. 😤
That stupid barcode keep getting my phone to switch to landscape mode making it very inconvenient to switch to other app especially when using gesture on my phone.

I just made the WW gc barcode using barcode generator app which is much better and it doesn't stupidly have the PIN in the barcode.

When you use Coles GC if the fund is not enough, the screen will pop up asking you to use the balance left.

With WW giftcard, it will throw error asking for staff to come to approved to clear the error.

…lol… Talking about primitive as noob… Clearly the professional doesn't see it noob way.

And don't let me even talk about WW shitty e-receipt. It is NOT the same as the print out receipt with many informations being omitted.

              • @samehada:

And just FYI, use a barcode reader to scan that barcode and lo and behold… They generated the PIN into that barcode as well. 😤

The last time I used a barcode gift card I still needed to type the pin number in.

That stupid barcode keep getting my phone to switch to landscape mode making it very inconvenient to switch to other app especially when using gesture on my phone.

Some phone screens do not automatically go to 100% brightness for barcodes which makes scanning them harder.
Going to landscape mode helps with the scanning on a dim screen.

And don't let me even talk about WW shitty e-receipt. It is NOT the same as the print out receipt with many informations being omitted.

They are identical to the printed receipt

                • @spaceflight:

The last time I used a barcode gift card I still needed to type the pin number in.

That is my point. Why put the PIN in the barcode generated when you don't need that info on the barcode. The barcode should be only be the giftcard number.

Going to landscape mode helps with the scanning on a dim screen.

The landscape mode make the barcode too big for the reader to properly read it.

And it is annoying when I use gesture on my phone which I need to swipe up to switch app. Because of this stupid landscape mode my swipe up will now be "back" which exit the barcode mode. Very dumb way for the app to take over control of my phone. WW even though copied these from Coles still can't do it right.

                • @spaceflight:

They are identical to the printed receipt

Maybe you should have a look again at your printed receipt and the e-receipt.

It is completely different. The crap digital receipt is just simplified of what you bought, it completely left out the bonus points part of the receipt. Which make it useless to track on the bonus points offer.

WW transaction history is another primitive crappy system compared to Coles with record not fully reflecting the bonus points and mysteriously disappeared after around 90days. Transaction history only display 90days record.

WW transaction history is so hopeless to keep track of your rewards points redemption because some fuel redemption doesn't even showed up correctly in there.

Whoever claimed to be IT professional that praise WW system must be a lousy IT professional.

            • +2

@non-core promise: Auto Redemption @ Checkout is only for flybuys linked to a Coles Financial Product, e.g. Credit card, Insurance. If you own more flybuys, you will easily know that without it, auto redemption does not occur.

"1-2 days delay" is a smart setup to hook customers back to use rewards to shop next time. Woolies Team will never realise it.

      • I can redeem without a physical card. Just scan the barcode (app or screenshot) and the option to redeem appears on screen.

        • Pretty sure you only have one flybuys.

          • @Neoika: Pretty sure you can have multiple barcodes saved on your phone

            • @spaceflight: People having one flybuys normally brag about how they can redeem $10 off @ checkout easily, without realising that it is only available on a flybuys with conditions. If a person own multiple flybuys, he knows it without reading my comments. I said sth similar above too.

            • @spaceflight: Fixed barcode alone to redeem your money is a very stupid way to access your money.

After so many complaints about hacker stole money from WW Rewards, what they did is imposed many layers of security in the WW Rewards app server. But that solves nothing when the root of the issue is in the way the system works which require nothing but just your rewards number to redeem money.

There checkout system also has a bug which somehow doesn't clear your rewards number after your transactions complete. So the next person if they don't scan rewards card will just be able to use money in your WW Rewards account.

              • @samehada:

There checkout system also has a bug which somehow doesn't clear your rewards number after your transactions complete.

WTF! How long has this bug been around for? Why are you the only person complaining about this particular glitch?

I have never had this issue.

What you could do is, immediately after a shop update your redemption settings to: Bank for Xmas.

                • @DoctorCalculon: Haha, because the others self-claim as “IT Professional” are busy claiming Coles are primitive and WW systems are modern… 😂 What you see maynot be as what it seems.

WW system is quite shit with these security risks.
                  - Barcode only to redeem credit, those who praise this over Flybuys are just idiots.
                  - PIN of the giftcard in the generated barcode
                  - and not clearing WW rewards records after complete transactions. This is especially prone to transactions that you didn’t complete for whatever reason. i.e scan the EDR then cancel the transaction, system doesn’t respond and you use another machine and somehow staff can cancel that transaction.

Either way this is really unacceptable, have a look at your EDR transactions, you may see someone else’s transaction in your account and luckily if it is under $10 they didn’t use your credit.

This is really annoying if you are doing weekly offer shopping and your EDR didn’t get recorded on the receipt but someone else EDR and you missed the bonus points.

This bug maybe a problem in the code of the WW checkout system.

It won't add my Essentials gift card but it does add my Wish gift card.

Shame since the Essentials card has a higher discount compared to the Wish card.

    • Yep, just had this same issue

      • +1

        From faq

Currently, Woolworths Group (excluding Essentials, Simply Groceries, Kindness, Everyday Shopping, Returns and Gift for Good), Dan Murphy's and BWS Gift Cards can be stored in your wallet.

        • Does it all combine into one balance or can you (for example) only use the Dans balance at Dans?

          • @DingoBlue: It does combine for the purpose of Everyday Pay and streamlining the QR paying method. It uses the gift card in the order you’ve added it to the wallet.

However you can still manually go into each gift card by selecting it from the wallet and scan the barcode. This is like the old method with the Money app so I’m assuming you won’t receive 5x points as it doesn’t use the QR method.

            And also see this FAQ:

Where can I use Everyday Pay?
Everyday Pay is available in-store at Woolworths Supermarkets, Metro and BIG W stores.

    • Dumb question, but is the essentials card the one you get from macquarie marketplace for 4% off?

  • No matter what I do I can't get either this app or the Woolworths app to recognise my everyday rewards card, it simply says "oops something went wrong try again later"… Anyone else had this issue?

  • +1

Ok so I tried this out today. - not the gift card option but attached a debit card. I have absolutely no idea why it’s better than using Apple Pay / Apple Wallet.

    • You now have unlock your phone.
    • Find and open the rewards app
    • Navigate to pay
    • Hit the QR code icon and then finally scan the QR code on the terminal.

Way slower than just tapping the NFC reader using the phones built in functionality. Only reason I can see this is useful so woolies starts tracking even more shopping habits by ensuring they scan their card.

Honestly it will be only useful when they roll out the Scan&Go functionality in all stores. For now it seems pointless unless your using gift card. Just my 2c

    • Tried it just now and it looks like you can scan the qr with your device's normal camera and it links your account directly afterwards. (faster than scanning your rewards card & tapping the NFC i guess). It's not bad long as the extra points stay

    • Yes, true it’s a few more steps if you’re strictly paying with Apple Pay

But some, if not a lot of ozbargainers will be paying with eGift card and if you’ve ever had to punch in the card no. and pin it becomes a pita. Although it is possible to scan the barcode which is a bit quicker.

The other benefit as noted by others is to bundle all your gift cards together and not having to scan rewards card separately.

    • +1

It's better than Apple Pay because no one, literally no one in OZB goes to WW and pay with debit card.
If you don't have free access to discounted WW egc, please delete your OZB account. LOL

Also their checkout scanners don't really like their egc barcode for some reason, often takes at least 5 sec.
      and most importantly:
I hate to touch the eftpos number pad for the 4 digit pin when 1000 people who don't wash their hands in bathroom have already press the buttons.

      • they touch the touchscreen. you need a X product from checkout shelves for your fingers.. LOL

  • Tried this just now but it doesn’t allow me to use my available Everyday rewards dollars if paying via this method. If not for the bonus points, probably wouldn’t have used it.

    • It seems possible according to the FAQ…

      Scan the QR code with Everyday Pay wallet;
      Scan your items and when finished, tap the “Pay Now” button on the assisted checkout screen;
You will be offered the chance to redeem your Everyday Rewards Dollars, and if chosen, the selected amount will be deducted from your transaction total amount; then
The transaction balance will be charged to your Everyday Pay wallet.

    • Did you try selecting Everyday Rewards Dollars as a payment method using the screen at self checkout after scanning your Everyday Rewards card and before scanning your QR code?

Normally at self checkout's step for selecting a payment method, there should be an option to select Everyday Rewards dollars to pay (assuming your purchase total is $10 or more). So if just scanning the QR code isn't letting you use your Everyday Rewards Dollars than I rather scan Everyday Rewards card first before scanning the QR code later on…

      • I haven't tried using EDR Pay yet, but I though I don't need to scan my EDR Card after scanning the QR code, because it's already in the EDR Wallet?

        • Yes you are correct, but I was only suggesting to fedex11 to scan the EDR beforehand if there's an issue with with the QR code not letting him use his EDR dollars.

          • @Alinnia: At the self-serve checkout, I scanned my EDR card first and selected to apply my available EDR dollars. Then tried paying the remainder using EDR pay but an error message came up and the whole screen was frozen. I had to rescan everything via a counter and the supervisor who served me said apparently if you use EDR pay, you can’t apply the EDR dollars prior. And the EDR dollars were not deducted automatically as I still have the remaining balance after the transaction. Maybe just an once off thing but interested to see if others have had success.

  • Sigh, just spent $175…then saw this…

  • Can we still get a paper receipt with this?

    I hate the e-receipts.

    • Yes

      • Thanks. Phew. heh.

I'll give it a try today.

  • My head hurts - 2nd point in the terms???

Not sure what it's saying. Say, I buy a giftcard with an offer of 10x points and use Everyday pay, which is 5x points.

Do I get 15x points or only 10x points???

    • +2

As WM mentioned above, it is not possible to ED Pay for giftcard purchase now.

Even it allows, you may receive 14x pts as giftcard has no base pts, but the 4x extra comes from unfixed bugs.

  • Does anyone know if you can order the gift cards it takes money from?
I like that it can take the remaining from a card and then use your bank card but it would be good if ut would use smallest balances first or what order you want to use them.

    • +1

Gift cards are redeemed in the order they are added to your Everyday Pay wallet.

Suppose you add a $25 Woolworths gift card, then a $5.50 WISH gift card, then a $10 WISH gift card to your Everyday Pay wallet. If you spend $15 at Woolworths in your next transaction and use Everyday Pay, you'll have $15 redeemed from the $25 Woolworths gift card, as that was the gift card added first. The $5.50 and $10 WISH gift cards remain untouched.

I have a feeling there will be an update in the future where you can change the order gift cards are redeemed by sorting (i.e. dragging and dropping) gift cards in your wallet.

      • +1

Thanks. Luckily I added them thinking that would be the case.

  • Tried to add my Woolies credit card and it keeps failing. Big fail Woolworths.

  • Just used it to buy the weekend milk. Pretty good. I thought it might have left a zero-balance gift card in the app as residue (as per "Money"), but no it's been wiped.

After badgering Coles for years about developing an app similar to "Money", this has already sailed right past that. Where are you Coles???

  • Just a warning to those who are not aware, it seems they no longer allow you to use Big W egift cards at Woolies for Everyday Pay (the app says "Can be redeemed at BIG W only."). In the past I would buy the Big W ones since they were offered at a 5% discount instead of 4% for Woolies cards, but it seems this is no longer possible.

    • Well, new app opened the can of worms(bugs) which WW will eventually close all these loopholes.

    • Can you use Big W gift cards at Woolies?

    • Did the merchant where you purchased BIG W eGift Cards actually supply you with BIG W eGift Cards (starting with 628000 712) or WISH eGift Cards (starting with 628000 555)?

I ask this, because when I purchased Woolworths Supermarket eGift Cards from HCF Thank You late last year, I was supplied with WISH eGift Cards. The image used on the gift card portal was for Woolworths Supermarket, the email sent to me with the access link was for Woolworths Supermarket, and the page where I accessed the eGift Card details was for Woolworths Supermarket. However, the gift card number started with 628000 555, and I was able to redeem that eGift Card at BIG W and EG / Caltex Woolworths as well.

If the merchant always supplied you with BIG W eGift Cards (starting with 628000 712), it wouldn’t surprise me that loophole was eventually closed off on Everyday Pay. New payment processes tend to create massive loopholes that take time to patch out…

      • +1

I've got an old 712 card that is a Woolworths Store E-Gift card. I haven't setup my account yet, but as soon as I find out whether the 10% shop is affected by everyday pay I can run some tests for you.

  • +2

Checked the activity statement tonight, got 18 points for a $6 spend on milk. That's not 5x. So many boosts and other things going on in my account, any simple explanation?

    • Same, tried this morning, spent $9.46, only received 18 points.

    • Same here. Made a $4 transaction and recieved 4 standard points but only 8 bonus points. 3x, not 5x. Hope this doesn't keep happening.

      • +1

I think the bonus is from bank for Xmas offer (you should have boosted it). The bonus for this deal is not instant.

      • +3

I haven't received any bonus points from any of my transactions either.

Keep in mind the terms and conditions of the offer state that it can take up to 14 business days from the end of the offer period for the bonus points to show up, so I'm not too worried at this stage. (Yes, you may not see any bonus points from this offer credited to you until 23 June.)

    • Yeah also only getting x3 points. Will wait and see

  • Can someone tell us whether this affects the 10% off woolworths mobile shop?

Since we don't need to scan the everyday rewards card does the 10% pop-up still appear or does it automatically apply to your first shop of the month….

  • im not sure how to use the app. i scanned the edr member bar code on app and then items then paynow and choose card as payment method. used edr phone app card tapped on eftpos terminal a blue tick came up on phone but later i found out it charged my zip google pay account instead. i didnt scan a qr code so not sure if ill get the bonus points. what are the correct steps to use app?

    • +1

      Steps are in the FAQ

When you are at either an assisted or manned checkout, follow these simple steps:

      Open your Everyday Rewards app or open your mobile device camera;
      Scan the QR code on the Pin pad or Checkout screen;
      Scan and bag your items;
Once completed, select “Pay Now” on the assisted checkout screen, or confirm that you are ready to pay to a team member at the manned checkout; then
Payment will automatically be made from your Everyday Pay wallet and your Everyday Rewards account will be updated.

    • used edr phone app card tapped on eftpos terminal a blue tick came up on phone

There is no tapping. You need to use Everyday Pay as payment method. It will display a QR code on the EFTPOS terminal, which you use your phone camera to scan.

  • How does everyday pay work if you choose between yours and your partners everyday rewards cards pending who has the better offer.
I have mine setup in the everyday rewards app and hers so in the woolworths money app.
So using mine is an extra step but still easy.
But if using everyday pay in guessing it only has 1 card in it?

    • I very much doubt that everyday pay was developed to facilitate card-swapping. Quite the reverse in fact.

  • -1

I hesitantly tried for the first time yesterday, but could not figure out how to redeem the max EDR dollars first.

In retrospect, I think the mistake I made was scanning my EDR card at the start of the checkout session.

  • +1

Just read the fine print as I just did a shop and didn't see the extra points credited.

When will I get my points? Your points can take up to 14 business days to be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards Card after the end of the offer period.

    • Yep it’s very slow. Did my shop few days ago still hasn’t been credited yet

      • Finally got the points. More than 2 weeks after my shop lol

    • So for each transaction before May 16 i have an extra 2x bonus points, in addition to the original 2x bonus points.

  • Did anyone else just receive their bonus points from this promotion?

I received a bunch of bonus points a few hours ago that was roughly what I was expecting from this booster, plus there are no other boosters or promotions where I am still waiting for the points to be credited.

  • Looks like it has come through. 138 bonus points for me.
